I am waaay more excited for this than I care to admit. Summer Wars is EASILY one of my favorite movies of all time, and Wolf Children...well, it'd be on the list if I could talk myself into watching it again. It's just one of those movies that leaves you kinda hollow the rest of the day - but damn is it a good move. The Boy and the Beast though...I'm really excited. So excited.

What games would you like to get a remaster?
Shizuno replied to Branson Thorne's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I want legit remasters of more old school Tales games. Both Destiny titles remastered would be a beautiful, beautiful thing. I think the .hack games could use some love, too; as well as Star Ocean 1/2. Also going to...second? Third? Forth? Legend of Dragoon. God that game was brilliant. -
You have a point, except for one flaw: Just send a nice, polite, non-pressure request to someone you want to rp with. If you think they are busy, give them an easy out. "Hey, I really admire you for [insert praise about character/writing/attitude/whatever], and would like to rp with you. However, I think you might be really busy, so I totally understand if you don't have time! If you don't, absolutely no pressure and maybe I'll catch up with you in a month or so to see if you have more time. If you do and wouldn't mind rping with me, I'd like to see when would be most convenient for the both of us. Have a good one!" I completely agree. Absolutely zero argument there. Just trying to lend a new idea that hasn't been said yet, is all.

Having read through the thread so far to make sure no one has said this yet, I wanted to get this idea out there. While I don't think popularity and cliques are a bad thing - people have a group of friends they socialize with, who knew!? - they DO have an effect, for sure. Though, truthfully, cliques only get bad when they start policing those around them, but that was said already. My point, though, stems more from the perceived popularity thing. While I don't hate on those who are seen as popular here since I do respect them for the effort they put in, there is a stigma there that has me shy away from RPing with them. And it's really quite a simple, and in my mind, accurate thing: "Oh, I bet they don't have time for me." Let's all be honest. It's been said in a number of these threads that people that are involved in RP don't have the time of day to spend RPing with everyone who wants to RP with them. THAT is, in fact, part of the stigma that the "popular" group carries - and anyone who RPs regularly, whether popular or not, and has a group of friends they regularly go to for RP - will tell you that they don't always have time for more people. I'm not popular on here. Never have been, because I lurk too much, and occasionally enjoy reading the lore threads. That said, I already basically have access to as much RP as I could handle without really making many connections here. Now, this is obviously not about people finding RP, but rather, what popularity brings. I don't think people who are popular should be on the receiving end of hate from people who can't find RP. But making the the (illogical) jump from "Oh, they probably don't have the time for me" to "They're excluding me!" is probably something that happens more than it ought to. Quick tl;dr "Popular" people really don't deserve the hate they receive "Popularity" lends to a "You probably don't have time for little ol' me" types of mentality Time available really is a legitimate constraint that people should be conscious of. Thanks guys Just food for thought.

I saw Together, We Ride in the title and was thoroughly not disappointed. I need to get in touch with you guys - can never have enough friends that are fans of Tales!

I'm just going to go ahead and throw my two cents in here, though I suspect my particular view is very much only my own. I also want to preface this by saying I'm not saying anyone is at fault, or that anything is wrong either - just my own experience, and that maybe, as mostly a lurker, myself, it may not just be me that feels this way, but I'm just one of the first to put it to words. I do definitely think people here get ignored. Just go through any thread, and see who gets responded to, quoted, and such. It's even happened several times in this thread, where someone mentions they are used to getting ignored, and then that post just floats away into obscurity. Do I think anyone is at fault? Naw, not at all. It's not unusual for new people in a group to be mostly (or entirely even) ignored, despite others having good intentions. Its just that a friend or acquaintance of theirs said something they feel the need to respond to, and then the other posts get buried. It's an unfortunate and heavily embedded function of the way a forum operates. Now, as for a more personal experience, I can honestly say that I've gotten next to no RP from posting here myself. Its happened occasionally, sure, but my posts tend to fall away and honestly, I don't mind. I don't go out of my way to attract people, I don't bump my posts, etc, so I know I am just as much to blame. However, when I watch my post in the connections forum get upward of 100 views and 2 replies, it's disheartening for sure. That is basically as far as ignoring gets. However, this isn't me saying I'm hurting for RP. I have regular partners in the game, and get to RP plenty. It's just pointing out that finding RP here isn't as easy as some make it sound, without going out of your way to sell yourself - which tons of people aren't comfortable doing. BUT! It is worth noting that many people who mostly lurk DO get ignored on the off chance they post - and then after some time they stop coming. I know I did. And that brings me to the topic at hand. The biggest reason I've stopped coming recently is the lack of actual discussion in the lore threads. I enjoy debates as much as anyone, and reading through some of them have been immensely enjoyable here. But as of late, I have no doubt that the discussions recently just get circular and go no where. It's no longer fun to read, and I learn nothing, with the exception of an occasional post in a thread contributing something, but they get IGNORED because, guess what? They CONTRIBUTED. I don't know. I've become dissillusioned with the RPC recently, and it may just as well be me. But still, this: And that brings me to the topic at hand. They CONTRIBUTED. is my main point. Oh, and a quick edit: I don't think the post count or rep system really needs to be changed. It can lead to intimidation on some occasion I'm sure, but as long as those people with high rep and post counts remain friendly, welcoming, polite and fun...it really shouldn't make a lick of difference.

Shizuno replied to CrimsonMars's topic in Chronicled Connections
You could give Rin a run. She's in the market and Chiyo seems like she's a lot of fun! We should talk in game at some point. -
Thanks for all the replies, guys! I'll try to find you all in-game at some point, but if I don't, feel free to flag me down. (Also, thanks Veti )

Hey everybody. I've recently gotten around to setting up a character concept that I've had for a long time, and she's taking over my main slot. Unfortunately for me, she's a tad short on friends - as in virtually zero at this point. So, I'm here to request some friends for Rin! She's blind, and a tad clumsy, but a lot of fun to be around and she has a good heart. Just be careful and don't approach her thinking she needs to be coddled - she hates that and is perfectly (read: more-or-less) able to take care of herself. And while I won't detail it in this post here, you can check out her full story and situation on her wiki page (situated neatly in my signature). Ultimately I'm hoping to get a few friends out of this...and maybe some romance. Thanks!

I know that Phantasy Star Universe could also be played without a Gold Subscription. Which would lead me to believe that any game that had it's own sub could bypass the Xbox Live requirement? Either way though, this is great news, assuming that Sony and Microsoft get along enough to allow people to play together from the consoles. Not that it would happen, but could you imagine the uproar if Square said, "Hey guys, so...PC players are only going to be able to play with Xbox players now, and PlayStation is getting it's own servers."? God, I think I'd die laughing at that announcement. Then cry.

I...I have this very strong feeling you appreciate the Tales series. I'm not quite sure why. But if you do, I'm sure we'll be great friends. With that said, welcome! If you need anything feel free to get in touch with me if you can find me (Shiina Ayana), and I'd be happy to RP with ya! Totally willing to help you level to, if that's something you're interested in. :3

Honestly, my biggest issue is what I've seen on my younger brother's homeworks and tests. What they're being taught is one thing. But when a kid solves the problem on a test using older methods, but arrives at the correct answer, the question should be correct, right? My calling of BS is when they mark a correct answer wrong because they didn't use the core method of arriving at the answer.

The whole idea of getting into an IC marriage seems like a really fun idea, and I'm super excited for the whole system. Now I, too, just need to find a partner...

Hello again everybody! I know it's been ages since I've been here, so it's unlikely many of you (if any of you) remember me. I was playing at launch for a while and between college and money, I just couldn't keep playing. However, I have now returned, and I'm really looking to get back into the swing of things here! If at all possible, I'd love to have some people to RP with, so if anyone is interested let me know!
-
If you ever see me around, feel free to RP with me! I've been having trouble finding some myself too.

In search of a new home and like-minded contacts!
Shizuno replied to Dravus's topic in RP Discussion
If you'd like, my FC, the Hungry Wolf is looking for members. We're a Shroud based mercenary troupe, so that could work right with your character. We're small right now due to much of what you said your current guild is going through, but we're really trying to actively recruit members. We're even looking for people to help run events and come up with story lines and such. If you're interested, check out our site (hungrywolfacademy.enjin.com), pm me here or in game, or even just check out our LS listing here. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer -
Welcome to the site! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask - everyone here is really helpful and happy to assist. As for me, if you'd ever like to RP, send a tell in game or grab me where ever. And if you're looking for a FC or LS to join, you should check the list here. I shall also selfishly recommend my own - The Hungry Wolf. We're small and looking for members (even officers) so if you're interested check us out!
-
If you'd like, you could join the Hungry Wolf IC, but remain just a part of our linkshell. We're still small, but we really are looking to expand. If you're interested, lemme know.

Hey Rinette! If you could get the person who taught her to read/write down to the age of 27 Shizu could fill the spot. Or, I could draw up a new character for the mate she was paired with.
-
Shizu nearly laughs in response. Instead, she scratches the back of her head. "Right. Well, then, it was nice talking to you in any case. Take care." She walks over to the door and opens it politely for Ozma. Once she is gone, Shizu returns to her seat, and has a good laugh about it to herself, returning to her study of invasive surgery. She sighs, and makes a small toast to herself. "Well, here's hoping someone will be willing to take care of me!" She performs a mock raising-of-the-glass, and sips down what's left of her tea.

Hello everyone! Newcomer looking for an RP company.
Shizuno replied to Wellhereweare's topic in Welcome Desk
You could check out the Hungry Wolf! We're a mercenary task force centered in the Shroud that focuses on moving quick and intense team work. We're still small, but are actually looking to recruit officers as well as members to help develop plotlines and events for us. Check us out if you're interested! That all said, we're totally welcoming to people with minimal knowledge of the lore, and would love to have you!
