  1. Tadir looks to the two at his table. "Just so you know, I'm going to be less than useless if this comes to a fight." He looks back to the group nervously.
  2. Tadir nods. "Sure, I guess meat pies will work." He motions to the two sitting at his table. "This is Bear and Tabrett. I was...DUNEFOLK!" Tadir shoots out of his chair, knocking it to the ground. He spins at hearing the chair fall and knocks his notepad to the floor. He bends, picks up the notepad, then rights his chair, sitting down with a sigh. "Of course, the only Dunefolk I seen in a week and a half is passed out." He brightened up. "Still, there is one here, and he'll have to wake up eventually, right?" Tadir looks hopefully at the people around his table.
  3. Ya know, I get that probably four times a week. I'm a good 7 inches taller than him. [i still don't see the resemblance between me and Tom Cruise...]
  4. Now, I've never played a character that looks like me before, but how could I possible not play looking like that when square basically set me up. Plus, I can dress up pretty accurately as Tadir for Halloween.
  5. He looked over his shoulder at the waitress. "Personally, I'd love a refill. Also, do you have fish patties? Cause that would be great," he mentions without much hope. "By the way, I'm Tadir." Tadir smiles charmingly. "I didn't catch your name. Are you new?"
  6. That's why I feel it within my rights to claim this avatar! Raaaawr!
  7. Okay, from the first time I saw the teaser cinematic for FFXIV I've thought the main character looks like me. I don't think it's a perfect match, but considering it's a videogame I find it rather uncanny. So I would like your opinions on this. [Edit] I seem to be having trouble. with making it work. [Edit2] There we go [attachment=0]
  8. She reminds me of the acrobat fire nation girl from avatar. Ty L...oh...right. I didn't make the connection with your name until just now. >__>
  9. Is there a way to connect to irc without downloading anything? Or are there any chat programs like adium or digsby that will do it?
  10. Tadir tried to ignore the ruckus being made by the new customers, doing a double take upon seeing the size of the third, then turned back to his table. "I'm staying upstairs. The accommodations aren't great, but the inn keeper knows his business. As for the Elezen," He gestured at her with his thumb, "No idea. She hasn't been working here for the past week. I'm not saying she doesn't, but if she does, she had the week off." He glances back at her. "I'm not complaining she's working, mind. She is a sight nicer looking than the normal innkeeper. Don't mind the bartender either." The journalist cracked a mischievous smile, looked down at his pad, made a few notes and flipped to a new page.
  11. Tadir noded slowly, looking down at his notes. "And you were working as a mercenary during this expedition." He looks up at Bear. "How well did you know your clients. It just seems a little suspicious to me that no one else was around when you awoke." Tadir's eyes fall on the Miqo'te next to Bear. "I'm being rude aren't I? Please tend to your wounds." He looks at his empty glass. "I'll go get another drink. Would anyone else like one?"
  12. Tadir's eyes rose to meet the Miqo'te's. "Evening miss. I was wondering where you went off to." He gestured to the empty chair and looked back to Bear. "This was the axe that you just had made, correct? Of the new material? That must have been disappointing, but would an ogre really take an axe? I've never seen one in person, but I was given to understand that they tend to be more of the "smash things with fiery fists after goring them on sharp horns" persuasion.
  13. Tadir, beer in hand, sat at the corner between the two men, making note of the interaction between the two. He smiled at Bear. "So tell me, how did you come to be in the dessert being attacked by an ogre. The desserts aren't generally travelled lightly, yet you seem to have managed to get out, not only of the dessert, but of trouble with that ogre as well." Tadir put on an academic, narrative tone of voice. "What wonderful and mighty deeds did you perpetrate along your path to the ogre?" He winked at the Roegadyn and readied his pen. Tadir turned his head with a jerk to look at the Hyur. "I'm sorry. I've been neglecting you. I missed your name outside."
  14. A bit affronted at being slapped in the stomach, Tadir nodded. "As long as you have a small story for me, absolutely." He grinned and followed Bear and the Miqo'te into the Inn. Tadir smiled and looked away from the sand being spread over the floor, pretending not to notice. When Bear was situated, Tadir turned to gesture to the bartender, who was unaccountably absent. In his place was an Elezen woman prancing behind the bar. "Where did..." Tadir shrugged and waved for the new bartender to come over. Bear looked up at Tadir. "Why exactly are you looking for stories in this place? It doesn't seem too exciting..." "Trust me, not the place I would choose to be. My editor wanted a piece on the nomad tribes of Dunesfolk. I've been here for close to a week now and I haven't seen so much as a Dunesfolk headwrap. I figure if I can get a few interesting tales from the dessert my editor won't mind so much that I don't have the story he wanted." Tadir grinned hopefully at Bear.
  15. I like the new linkshell page, it seems to work well. On the news page the scrollbar really breaks the feel of the site. I know that may seem nitpicky, but I really think it looks off. Is it possible to either change the graphics for it or make it invisible? Very excited about the paper.
  16. Nah, you misread the article. They were bid on by Wu Tang Financial, but Shaolin Investments outbid them and ended up bringing them into the fold.
  17. Tadir swept his hat from his head with a slight bow and said, "Tadir West, at your..." and was brought up short by the wall of heat and sunlight that slammed headlong into his face. With a gasp and a sputter, he slammed the hat back on his head, retreating from the direct line of the oppressive sunlight. "Uh...Tadir West...You'd be..." he glanced at his notepad, "Bear, correct? And the truth is, even if you can't tell me how it ended, a first hand account of an encounter with an ogre...my editor would be thrilled!" he exclaimed enthusiastically. He smiled at the small gathering. "Shall we?" Tadir gestured toward the inn entrance. "While it may not be cool inside, at least it's out of the sun."
  18. Tadir wandered a bit closer, his pen working furiously as Bear spoke. "Well, I may not be able to do much for your wounds, but I'd gladly buy you a few drinks if you'd be willing to sit down and tell me the rest of that fascinating tale in detail?" He marveled at the wonder of the tale. "You really survived a fight with an ogre. Amazing." He tucked his pen behind his ear and looked at the other two, giving a slight smile. "That wasn't an exclusive offer, by the way. I'll buy a drink for any of you that can give me a good tale, since the Dunesfolk I've been looking for haven't shown up."
  19. Wait...that's not normal? *Calls to make a doctor's appointment.*
  20. I'd love a little chat room on this site. It doesn't have to be complicated or advanced.
  21. I think IRC could be a fun way to waste some time. Is it IC or ooc?
  22. I guess I'll throw in my two cents, (by the way, would that be gil? people say that a lot, but I always equated a gil with a dollar.) I've never been one to get into ingame romantic relationships. Something might develop over time, but I also straight up refuse to get into eRP. Just not my cup of tea.
  23. My characters tend toward middle to upper middle class working folk. Usually travelers, but nothing terribly special. I always found it fun to be the regular guy around all the super powered immortal highlander vampire demon bat wolves. My favorite character of all time was a bartender in SWG. That's it. She had never left correllia, much less be a galactic hero. No fighting skills, just made damn good drinks.
  24. As the crowd dispersed Tadir made his way over to the hulking Roegadyn by the oasis. He maneuverd as close as he could to the two without looking to be eavesdropping, trying to find a way to insert himself into the conversation. This could make a nice little side piece. "Bloodied Roegadyn at the Oasis," he muttered to himself. "...maybe I'll work on the headline a bit more." Tadir pulled out his pen and began to jot notes about the man's entrance and tried to think of how to get the answers he needed.
