What.... where!? ...Oh. Ahem, welcome aboard! =P And those were powerful pillows, they held her up on that cliff alone.

I'm playing on a newer slim version with 160GB. I haven't had any issues with my PS3 during the beta testing. Only some minor lagging in the more populated areas. But it's barely noticeable to me. I used to play FFXI back in the day on my PS2 with dail-up (thankfully I now have some DSL) and it worked back then with just lagging issues in town. ; I would think as long as you have a decent internet connection, you'll be fine.

Villainous Character Creator Challenge

Took a shot at this: -
The idea of having the girl becoming sick in the boat was not all that pleasant of a thought, but Faydrel was able to push the ideas away as a loud eruption of noise came from the now distant docks. Her lingering gaze forced away from the young woman and focused in on a rather disgruntled Roegadyn holding what would have appeared to be a dagger in his large and gruff looking hands. Faydrel then leaned back away from the young lady she questioned and pressed her pink lips together to let out an audible whistle. "I somehow doubt that asking him to join in would have been a viable solution." She commented with a small snort as her gaze tore away from the commotion on the docks and back to the rest of the passengers on board their commandeered fishing vessel. She appeared to be ignoring all that was going around her in that moment as the pack from her shoulder dropped to the boat's floor. Fay scooted the large adventurers' bag in front of her and began to rummage through its contents. Their were rustling sounds of papers, metal, and other odd thunks and clangs. As she searched through her bag her blonde brows began to burrow together and a small scowl formed on her lips. "...need to organize this better." she muttered sourly until she let out a small noise of victory and soon a small leather sack emerged with her hand. "Here you go, Red. On the house." Faydrel chirped as she casually tossed the bag towards the girl's lap. If the young Hyur woman were to investigate the contents of the bag she'd find it full of what appeared to be some kind of crystallized dried fruit, or root as the case was. "Nibble on a bit of that ginger and it should keep the nausea at bay. ....Or use it to bate the rodents." Fay went on to explain with the small joke as she strapped her bag closed and shifted herself so she was sitting against the edge of the vessel and lifted her legs up on the bench she was occupying.

I had registered my e-mail at the code-redemption website, not the actual code I had received. But I did get an email from Enix thanking me for pre-ordering and it had that information with it. Also stating to keep my code until they email me again, closer to early access with all the steps needed to set the game up, blah blah blah. ****Edit: HOWEVER, I do remember it not saying specifically august 20th, just that it will be seven days before actual launch and that it was supposed to be a seamless transition into the launch. I just did the math myself and assume the 20th if all went well with phase 4.
-
When I had received the email for registering for my early access code (unfortunately I deleted this email :frustrated: ), and it stated that the early access will be a whole seven days before launch and will be a seamless transition. ***Though you're probably right about my guessed time of the start of P4, it'll probably be sometime after the 11th.
-
Actually, early access will be seven days before launch. So that means early access will be on august 20th. I'm thinking that P4 will be on the 9th or 10th and they'll have a couple days between P4 and early access to debug and such. But (as stated before so many times I'm sure ), won't know officially until the letter on the 8th.

Well I know this is going to sound rather cliche, but my favorite DC hero would be Batman. He's just too amazing to not love. ^^'' (...have a few issues with Nolan at the moment for his movies.. - n - ) As for Marvel, does Deadpool count as a hero? Gotta love a comic character that easily breaks the fourth wall.

Pleased to meetcha! Always nice to meet a fellow Disney fan. My favorite movie has to be the Lion King. (Hence my  for Miqo'te)

While the two younger women attempted to con the potential con artists, Faydrel's attention had shifted towards the bit of commotion that was occurring further down the docks. Whatever what was happening, it was far too away for her to get a good look. With a small shrug of her shoulders her attention had then shifted back onto the Miqo'te named Salaah as she chided the two girls on their good attempt at bluffing on board the ship. A soft chuckle chimed from her throat and gave a small salute to the red-headed Miqo'te as she acknowledged the added help aboard would be appreciated. "Whatever gets me to my glittering gem of Limsa." Faydrel commented in her usual laid back tone. With a small bark from Agile, Faydrel shifted her full attention back onto the nearby men and female Roegadyn as the larger woman started to give out the orders of what was to come when their captain showed up. However, the commotion from earlier appeared to be getting closer to the group. Quizzically she glanced towards the origin and soon witnessed a male Elezen in obvious sea-wear breaking through the crowded docks and right in their direction. 'Well things just got more interesting...' she mused as the dark-haired Elezen scampered closer to the group before skidding to a halt. Her gaze looked past the man and towards the disheveled crowd of apparent citizens on the docks. Whatever it was he was running from was no where to be seen. The man was apparently the captain of the Pheonix Flame and gave a quick explanation of needing to get everyone aboard now. A blonde brow arched slightly as shifted her weight to favor her right foot. The two young women followed after the captain without much complaint and Salaah and Agile were already making for their rowboat. "Aye aye, Cap'n!" She called out with a quick shift of her pack and came up the rear of the other girls and stepped into the small fishing vessel with an added shove off the dock-side and towards the open water. "Code Really Bad?" She mumbled aloud to herself as her gaze watched the docks a moment before another soft snort left her and she took her a seat in the back. Faydrel plopped her back onto the vessel's floor as she eyed the other two girls a moment before landing back onto the captain. "Keeping the girls to yourself? I like you style there, Cap'n." She joked lightly before leaning in closer to the red-headed Hyur named Melle. "Don't tell me you get sea-sick?" Fay inquired with a quizzical look.

One by one the bids were called out and Faydrel watched as it was the red-headed Miqo'te woman who was doing most of the talking for the 'ferrywomen'. A thoughtful expression crossed over her features as she pondered over the name Phoenix Flame. It had sounded familiar to the seasoned sailor, but for now the actual details seemed to have failed her. Not that it mattered to her much, considering her own professions. They were off to Limsa and that was where she currently needed to go. Cerulean colored eyes glanced casually towards the man she was currently harassing and was quite amused that he hadn't said a single word to her. "Oh, the strong and silent type? My favorite." Faydrel cooed teasingly as her firm hand had moved away from the man's back and onto his shoulder with an added helpful nudge towards where the group of possible wayfarers were located. Booted feet danced carefully ahead of the other man and she raised her lightly armored arm up to a small wave towards the group. The blonde Hyur had decidedly to come behind the two newest additions, the green-haired Miqo'te and red-headed Hyur, with a slight grin still upon her face. "Faydrel Lovell, reporting for duty. I don't suppose you two lovely ladies could give me a bit of work in exchange for a lift back to Limsa?" She inquired to Salaah, with an added wink, and for good measure she then cocked her head in the direction of the man she had just been visiting. "Even brought a prospective customer." Fay quipped, though she was fairly sure the man would have eventually made a bid for passage aboard the ship. But these two did not need to know that, now did they?

What games are you playing/looking forward to?
Hywel Pendragon replied to Orlog's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Hm, the only other MMO I'm looking forward to is Elder Scrolls Online. I signed up for the beta, but that won't be for a while I'd think. (It's for the PS4 ^^; ) As for other games.... I have a huge wishlist going. = n =;; (Waaaayyy too many good games coming out close together.) Currently playing FFVI and FFIX again. =X ....And I wish they had Saga Frontier in the PS store. D= -
I know what you mean. My character is not a huge axe user. >___<;; Unfortunately I'll have to start as either a PUG or LNC. . n . I can't wait to see what classes/jobs they add in upcoming patches.

It had been three days. Three whole days of being stranded in West Thanlan! And why was it that Faydrel Lovell found herself in such a predicament? The fact that a ferry ticket to Limsa Lominsa was currently going to cost a whopping 55,000 gil. Who in this era had that kind of coin beside those who already owned their own vessel? The official ferry owner was obviously delusional or just one greedy son of a slag to demand such a daunting amount. The Hyur Midlander had been hanging about the docks for the entirety of the three days she had been stranded in hopes she could have stowed aboard the ferry, but not a single person had been willing to pay such an outrageous price. Shocking. Currently Faydrel was making yet another round along the docks and listened as the local venders called out about their wares. Honestly the gil was starting to get a little low with the three days she’d already been there. Oh what she wouldn’t do to be back home in Limsa. This place was just too dry for her tastes. And teleportation just wasn’t really her thing. It was as she passed a Miqo’te and Hyur trying to sell their catch of the day that something caught her attention. The blonde paused in her steps as she heard the holler of a promise of free passage to Limsa. “Well this just has to be good.” She snickered with a bit of sarcasm and moved her booted feet across the wooden planks and towards the shady spot of where the claims were coming from. What it was she had found were a pair of women and a very interesting sign. As she read the sign from a small distance her pale blonde brow quirked. And how good it really was! A tug of a smirk came across her lips as she watched a pair of strapping young men approach the female Miqo’te and Roegadyn. This was some kind of obvious scam or just really poor planning on the women’s part. Fay’s blue gaze shifted away from the small display and noted a dark-haired Hyur man nearby who appeared to also be listening in on the current conversation. With her sly smirk widening upon her face she found herself strolling closer to the lad and suddenly slapping him on the back as if he were an old friend. "Enjoying the display?" Faydrel chimed with a small chuckle as she stood beside the young-looking lad. "10-1 odds says this is one huge con."

Thanks for the warm welcomes. ^-^ I've been perusing through a lot of the threads and wiki, it's all been very informational. And I also love all the stories and variety of characters around. Especially that link Xenedra, thanks for that one. I never played 1.0, so it's very useful to me. o-o;;

Thank you, I hope to see Desmond there as well. ^^ Thanks! It was a little something I had an idea for beforehand. Faydrel is originally a DnD character of mine. That is how her 'humble' beginnings started in that campaign. And I hope I do fit in here, I'm used to doing my rping on Gaiaonline or posting stories up on FanFiction.net. Can't wait for phase 4 to start up. :chocobo:

Hello everyone! I was quite excited when I learned of this community as I hadn't even thought of there actually being role-players on MMOs. Which is really silly because it does make for a good setting. As for my experiences, this is my second major MMO [This first being FFXI], but I have been rping for a good 10-12 years now. It started way back on Neopets and evolved from there. ^^; I will be playing as two character (so far). → Faydrel Lovell - Midlander Hyur and privateer. → Rhela'a Tayuun - Keep of the Moon Miqo'te whose a former traveling mage now turned merchant. (I'm also thinking of remaking my Paladin from XI) I look forward to role-playing with you all in the future. :moogle:

I.Basic Info Characters: Faydrel Lovell & Rhela'a Tayuun Primary character: Miss Faydrel Lovell Linkshells: Undecided Primary RP linkshell: Undecided II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium → Heavy I am new to this type of roleplay community, but I do have quite a bit of experience with overall roleplaying. Views on RP combat and injuries: I am completely open to combat and injuries. As long as there is not godmodding, then it should be fine. Also, the infliction of scars or other deformities should be discussed before hand. Views on IC romance: I'm fine with IC romance, though Faydrel isn't the most lovey-dovey girl. As for more physical contact, I'm okay with until blatant cybering is involved. I will time-skip all the good stuff. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I am okay with family ties, friendships, and rivalries. But it will need to be discussed beforehand. Views on lore: I do like to follow the set lore, but I also love some artistic creativity. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I really do not have a set opinion on this as I am fine with all forms of communication. The only restriction would obviously be global talk. III. Character: Faydrel Lovell A small short-story of my girl's official first visit to Limsa Lominsa. Any OOC comments are welcome. ^^ Faydrel woke, cold and very confused. The cold was more than a chill against the clammy walls of stone and iron. Rigid with concentration, Faydrel laid among the bits of dingy brown straw that clung absently to her blonde tresses and form. It was after a few moments of calming down that Faydrel finally realized that she was currently occupying a prison cell. When had this happened? Carefully, Faydrel curled into a tight ball to ease the tension that was currently spread across her should blades. Slowly she then forced herself to relax, muscle by aching muscle, and joint by joint, as she attempted to analyze her situation. It was obvious from the throbbing from her temples that alcohol had played a part in these events. Either she had drank far too much or not enough, it was hard to judge what was the right amount these days. It wasn’t only her temples that were throbbing, but her entire body felt like a giant sore. Whoever it was that locked her up, they worked her over a bit first. A soft groan escaped Faydrel as she finally picked herself up from the loose straw bedding, but her knees quickly buckled and found herself slumped against the cool stony walls of the cell. “Mmph…ugh…” She muttered incoherently as her eyes came to a close as the room refused to stop moving for her. Which she could not help but think was really rude. Unable to do much more she was forced to take in shallow breaths of air in an attempt of recovery. Flashes of memories crossed before the dark lids of her eyes of the night’s events. There were definite loads of ale and spiced wines that night with visions of The Drowning Wench. Plenty of familiar faces around, but also a man in metal armor, Knight of the Barracuda to be exact. Deep blue eyes opened in a flash and another, louder, groan escaped past her now pouting lips. Her drunken memories had resurfaced in a mesh, but it wasn’t hard to see what had happened. A hazardous wager with an equally drunk crew-mate had led the reckless Faydrel into pick pocketing an off-duty knight. “By the twelve tha’ was stupid…” ‘But it's something I’d do…’ While Faydrel stayed slumped against the wall there was the familiar noise of metal clanking against stone floors. With each footfall the more she winced in mild annoyance and pain. It was at this that she could not help but wonder as to why all guardsmen, warriors, and knights insisted upon wearing those evil metal greaves. As she now absentmindedly removed bits of dingy straw from her untidy tresses, the sound of clanks had finally come to a stop. Her exhausted gaze drifted over to where the door of the cell was evidently located and found a cliché iron-barred door and an equally cliché guardsman standing there. He was a stocky and over-weight Hyur with a large gray mustache and little hair atop his dome. His armor consisted of the metal greaves and gauntlets. His gut prevented for a full chest-plate. And overall it seemed dim and almost appeared to have rust on the edges. Most likely he was an officer who had long since been removed the front lines and stuck here as a prison guard. “It’s yer lucky day girlie, someone’s come to post tha bail.” A gruff voice called out to her with the following sound of the tumblers of the door’s lock turning open. The iron door then let out a low and whining creak as it swung open with an accompanied deafening clang of iron on gray stone. “Oh lucky me…” Faydrel mumbled as her tanned hand came up and smudged away a bit of dirt from her forehead. She stumbled slightly away from the clammy prison wall and then moved towards the now open doorway before her. Faydrel then began to wonder as to who could have posted her bail as she had just arrived that night. And as if to answer this mental questioning, the stocky guard moved away from the doorway and revealed a familiar face of a male Lalafell. “Laharal…?” Faydrel questioned in mild disbelief. She had sailed with him on the ship that ported Limsa Lominsa and he was a notorious gil monger. Despite his height the man proved to be quite the adversary on the open seas and a real asset when it came to financial issues. The look of disbelief must have been too much for the shorter Lalafell as he gave a hearty laugh and smacked his leg lightly. “Ha ha! Don’t act so shocked!” Laharal joked as the Lalafell pivoted around and began to walk down the darkened hall. After getting over the small amount of astonishment did Faydrel brush pass the guardsman and stumbled after her former crew mate. “Well it’s not often seeing you give up your gil for another.” She quipped back towards the shorter male. “Oh, well the money I used was what I owed you from last night.”Laharal harped back with another chuckle. She could only groan at that as she brushed the last bits of pale straw that clung to her form. “Then I suppose I don’t owe you any thanks, gotcha.” She huffed as they made a small stop at the front desk to pick up her confiscated equipment. “I wouldn’t have it any other way, Fay.” Faydrel could only smirk a bit at the comment as she rummaged through her pack to check if all of her things were in order. With a small mock solute to the guardsman behind the counter she sauntered beside the Lalafell. The promise of freedom had allowed her to ignore her sore and stiff body and not to mention her still throbbing head. “Show the way o’ charitable one.” She snipped with a bit of sarcasm and followed the short Lalafell out the entrance of the holding area. Faydrel immediately flinched at the brightness of her surroundings, causing her to bring her tanned hand up over the tops of her eyes. The cries of nearby seagulls were lovely melodies upon her ears and the scent of sea air was just heavenly. There were sounds of nearby commerce of the local adventurers and residents and large buildings of stark white. It was all of the comforts of freedom. Laharal then walked out ahead of Faydrel before he turned to her with a small jump and wave of his hands. “Allow me to officially welcome you to the grand city of Limsa Lominsa!”
