I would be disappointed if this were to happen quite honestly, seeing as the idea is to bring roleplayers together so we can have a richer experience those people, I think would be shooting themselves in the foot. However as for dealing with them, we don't. I'm not saying we ignore them or pretend they don't exist, we just play up our strengths, we are trying to unite roleplayers and this will give any potential new RP a wider choice on what guilds they would like to participate in. Personally I can't see another group on another server having the numbers and diversity that we have, so we just focus on those qualities, at the end of the day people will do what they want to do, we just have to make sure our goal is clear. If we build it... they will come First of all there is nothing to say we wouldn't hang out with non-rpers, I personally enjoy that from time to time, as I am sure others around here do. As for the people who want to roleplay but also want to be with their friends on another server, I say after making sure the person knows what we are trying to do, and then asking if his or her friends wouldnt mind just heading over to our server instead if that is possible, (if they havent officially joined a server yet I don't see why that would be a problem). If that is'nt a possibility then maybe we ask the person if they want to create an alt on our server for RP? If none of that works, I guess it's a lost cause, they will either follow their friends or if roleplay is important to them they will come to our server. What will be will be I'm afraid.

Nice I like that idea

Good start guys First of all how much to make a female character? 37-23-36k? possibly... good idea for a segment, maybe people could write in suggestions for the how much questions? Secondly the music, cool idea, was wondering if its something you would throw open to suggestions from the community as a whole and pick one each podcast to feature? One thing that was briefly mentioned but I thought it would be interesting to touch on was the Epic storyline, which from what I gathered from what you guys said, would be a storyline encompassing all guilds from the RPC? Kinda like the idea, but Im not sure how it would work in practice to do a overall story for everyone, what with guilds having different styles and ways of roleplaying. However I was thinking perhaps that is something that could be RPC wide events, a back story is created for the event and all the members of the RPC are invited to join in and take part and see how the story develops? Maybe a few times a year as it may be hard to co-ordinate, certainly would be something cool to think about. Anyway look forward to the next one :approve:

Being on the same servers as everyone else for RP is indeed what Ive been looking forward to. As for SE designating an RP server I fall into the "not really bothered" camp. Yes it would be nice for SE to recognise RP groups and yes it would allow people who otherwise may not be able to find out about roleplaying in FFXIV to locate it easily. There are other aspects of it as well, people who dont RP may pick a RP server to play with a seemingly more mature set of people, and of course there will be others who pick a RP server to openly harass Roleplayers. If they don't designate an RP server (and I personally imagine this will be the case) then we pick one ourselves, easy enough. It of course has a couple of drawbacks, potential roleplayers may have to do a little work to find out what our chosen server is, and there may be a few disgruntled "anti-rpers" who complain about why we had to pick "their" server to ERP (misconceptions abound). The upside being that we get more roleplayers who put a little effort in to find the community, and we get to decide the size of the server we want to join, in theory. The most important thing to me is there is a server, SE designated or player designated is doesnt matter, that the roleplaying community all converges on. It would suck to see it so spread out again like in FFXI. Additionally: to the point made above, taking WoW as an example. Lots of people (maybe a majority im not sure) of people who roll a toon on a RP server wont RP anyway so I dont think it would be too hard to make non RP friends, but aside from the griefers I think it may contain a few more RP friendly denizens? Im not sure its been a while.

Cool Cage Was playing Hells Winter earlier, Shoot Frank is a cool track.
-
"Doc" is kinda an obvious choice now I think about it lol. David Tennant.
-
That's cheery >.>

Im sure not everyone has their final designs for a character (or characters) sorted yet, but I was wondering what actors you would get to play the characters you have created thus far? Its a RP forum staple perhaps but it can be fun, also pictures if possible please

"... Students of the natural world hmmm? That is a nice way of putting it, I guess you would say Im something of a student of the same, well, along with the un-natural world and mostly everything in between. And that is merely based on the assumption that there isn't more worlds than only this one. Would those other worlds be considered 'natural'? Hmm something to ponder." Doc took a big gulp of water. "Anyway lovely as this conversation is I must really dash... Ive got to see a mage about a thing... well the thing isnt important, the mage might be." He ran his hand through his hair. "Well a pleasure to meet you and all that, got to dash... only a short time left." With that and before anyone around him could utter a single word in response Doc hurried out of the tavern, mumbling to himself as he went.

I think it tends to be better by character names or forum names or whatever, some people may not be comfortable using their realy names over the net which is understandable. Also it makes it easier to keep track of on the forums instead of having to remember two names for everyone
-
So who is actually making the podcast now?
-
Doc heard this and cocked his head slightly obviously taken away from the thought that he had previously held in his head. "But that is not true at all, not at all, even the "simpliest" of lives is fascinating, you just have to know where to look... no not where, but... how. Yes how to look." Doc rubbed his chin, "And as for witty and entertaining. " he grinned warmly. "Trust me I'd take simple and to the point any day over long drawn out responses that say the same thing. Granted I can do my fair share of talking, yes I talk a lot, some may even say I tend to ramble, and noone likes a rambler as noone I knew used to say..." Doc noticed what he was doing and raised his voice briefly. "Regardless! No, people are interesting, all people. Even ones I don't like... fascinating. Take you for instance Alchemy, alchemy is very interesting, how long have you been practicing it? I dabble myself from time to time, among other things."

"Limsa Lominsa" came the reply he was looking for, "Limsa Lominsa." He said out loud as if trying out the name for the first time. "Limsa Lominsa indeed!" he smiled. " What a lovely name, Limsa Lominsa, I like it, not too pretentious, yet... not too simple. No 'Large Boat city' or 'Magestic port of wonderment.' a fine name indeed. Limsa Lominsa... it just rolls off the tongue doesnt it?" He thought for a moment for the response to her second question. "Hmm... hello.. yes I'm... Doc." He smiled warmly. "Yes just call me Doc." He looked over to Lura when she spoke her suggestion. "Friends? Hmm... well possibly I guess I could use friends in such a new place. Ill consider it." He smiled. He scanned the room briefly and frowned. "Certainly are a lot of weapons being carried arent there? A sign of the times I'd image, however still... less than Ideal... does this tavern get assaulted a lot then?"
