I vote for the Hyur lady too! She looks like a perfect vector for a pink, aether-born spore-like entity trying to take over the world and covers it with fungi! Jokings aside, I agree with the others on this, your design of the Hyur woman looks like she got story to tells and that is good!

Please make both, Mr. Snow, and then at launch you could get them to the barber and see who appeals more to you after additional barber-only haircuts, skin treatments, softlenses...

^ Would you care to share if you have any personal preferences? Certain vowels maybe? Certain letters or its combination? What do you want the first letter be for example? I think to know more about your preferences would help the rest to make any incoming suggestions much more accurate rather than a spray and pray If it's Tir-something, how about putting a "C" in it somewhere? I personally think the letter brings out adorable-ness --Tir-imca, Tir-atcha, Tir-enca, Tir-michi, Tir-chata,

Oh I'm totally glad it's just a ball of dust! I thought it is some kind of spore that will attach to the crack in the wall and grows a pink mold which gives a sweet smell of candy to your room, that or some kind of germ that infects you with a flu that makes you craves cotton candy and turns your skin pink for three days.

Ohhh! You give me an impression of one cute, fluffy, furry entity! May I cuddle you to death? Are your furs hypo-allergenic? ... Oh, hi! Welcome to RPC! Sounds like you're almost decidedly going to make a female feline or Lalafell for your stumbling character. but hey, cats have excellent balance, shouldn't be stumbling easily.

Eh, no beard on the Hyur? Why? Beard is good... Ehehe, just joking! He's fine! I voted for the Miqo'te though... Compared to the hyur, the Miqo'te looks like someone who got story to tell.
-
Ohohoho! A Miqo'te who really likes to eat! Sounds like a fun feline if we meet in game, especially if it's in a food stall or something, we could start some commotion. oh and what is exactly gonna happens if her tail is pulled... let's say, intentionally? The shortened "Chi" for her name is cutesy enough if it fits your concept of her. Maybe you could build around it for a more lore-friendly name if it's what you want? About the tail, wasn't Miqo'te's tail contributes to the race's sense of balance? Does it gimps her in a way if her tail is wrapped around the waist instead?

Oh my, why did I stumbled upon this thread just now? I'm so late to the party! I like it, sir. IMO, yes a simple concept yet has a lot of fun potential! Especially if that Brash 'Wolf is a little not right in the head too! Friend: "Hey look at that! Why do those chickens cross the road?" Brash : "Because if they don't... *Lift his axe* Imma gonna ax them all! YAARRR!!" Oh no not them Lalafells again... Twisting 'Wolves' names around in whatever direction they see fit! I wonder if that clerk once worked as a tour guide somewhere... *Offers high-five for comedic Roes! No, seriously, can't wait to run into Ms. Queen in game, it will be fun! Sprinkled with a little insanity of course!

I am very sorry, Syjak, I don't think I have the heart to play in Tonberry for some personal reasons. I've decided on Balmung by the way. Oh, if it might be of a reference for you; I've played LotRO with 280 - 300+ latency for a while back then and I didn't find it game breaking at all even in large raid. You have to adapt a bit for your latency, yes, but I personally never find the 1/3 of a second slower reaction time makes the game unplayable. For the record, my main is a Minstrel, a healer, a direct-heal healer so no HoT to cut some slack for latency and it's fine for me. So once again good luck to you! Happy gaming and RPing! Oh and this below of course, a good advice from a good man, please consider it:

Yay! A comedic character! Lovin' your character already just because of that! I think Yini will provide a healthy dose of laugh and insanity around! ... Oh, Hello!

Hi, Syjak! Good to see another Asian RPers! If I'm allowed to ask (and you don't mind to answer either), are you from SE Asia? Because I too consult the (big) community in my place here (where they almost anonymously voted for Tonberry and seems to consider those choosing other server as some kind of freak) before I stumbled upon RPC. Believe it or not, only one or two person in the said community actually knows what RP is, and I'm not saying their reaction is friendly either when they finally read about it because they think I'm about to be a player with "Higher-than-thou" attitude... I'll be honest to you. That makes me a little worried about what kind of atmosphere is waiting for the RPers in Tonberry. But if it's all good for you, I truly wish you a lot of fun playing the game and have a lot of interesting RP sessions!

Huh? No two-face face paint this time? You're going incognito again? Let's see... A: "Hey, B, what's the name of that bard again?" B: "Tralala Trala". A: "I'm serious, B". B: "Tralala Trala!". A: "B, stop singing, your singing sucks! What's the bard's name?" B: "Tra-la-la-Tra-la!" A: "You're asking for it!" *RP fight ensues. --- Cute name, Tear. Has a vague (or not) feel of trolling too! 7.5 out of 10. Would you consider Shalala Shala too? That tone is often used where I live instead of the "western" Tra la la

 "Eeehh? Corn? Grilled Corn? W-with hot sauce maybe? Sprinkle some cheese, yes?", *Pauses and inhales deeply, eyes shut, and starts drooling; "Mmmmh, Co-orn...", looking lost in his thought of grilled-corn-filled paradise...

Bummer, I came here as soon as I saw "-Bird" in the title! turns out not about a chirpy, talon-happy critter after all... Well that's a pretty grim background for your cat girl, must be a bit tricky to RP, eh? I myself never had meet / know a person in real life that had an equally painful past like that so I apologize that I can't accurately imagine of how such person live their daily life, or what are her views on the world around her, her perspective on others, on the meaning of happiness, etc. I guess the worst part isn't being a daughter of a prostitute or becoming a slave, but as a little girl and having to witness her mother murdered right in front of her, now if that didn't leave a deep psychological scar, I don't know what else will. -- I think this event is actually the good starting point to develop her character. Being a slave, well... IMO is not that heavily-influential for her psychological profile as a whole. I mean, yes I understand a slave have to be downright submissive to survive so a non-submissive person could just play it out to get through it all, and one day when she's finally freed, she could be her normal self again! -- Even if she had abandoned all hope before. It will probably takes a little while but I believe the thrill of freedom will cure most of the darker past life of a slave. Now if I may offer my opinion which is essentially the same as what others had wrote; Yes, A'Kuri is a tragic characters but I don't think she's supposed to be very visibly tragic. It is probably more natural for her to actually hide her tragic past by various means such as faking a smiles maybe, so it is actually the subtle indications you give through A'Kuri's body language or something that give hints of a painful past so that other characters can draw the conclusion themselves.

I'll do my best! Thanks for the encouragement! "B... Birdie, i-is that you, Birdie? *Sniff-- Why are you covered in flour, all oily and brownish like that, Birdie?"

Hi! Does it mean that Izzy is the owner / manager of the animal sanctuary? If it's a yes then cool! And then maybe we could flesh out something about this relation tracing back about 11 - 12 years ago... Is it fitting for Izzy (and your concept of her character) to be Mr. Wheel's employer back then? If it's a yes, I just hope that Izzy's a patient Wildwood ladyboss, for employing a big dork such as Wheel must be a constant knock on her anger management's door  Howdy! Good to hear that! My guess it will be one of the mischievous kids, eh?

Open Beta & Early Access, Live Letter 8 Discussion
Falkner replied to Eve Malusion's topic in FFXIV Discussion
And like a ligtning struck, I just remembered I haven't Pre-Ordered the game! Whew, talking about how your memory is not what it used to be when you got older... 18th, eh? Still plenty of days to enjoy good night sleeps then -
Howdy, folks! Apology beforehand if I'm considered barging in... Well, I decided to try my luck here, so I wonder if any of your characters have a backstory connecting / relating to: an orphanage not located in any of the big or major settlements, or- a small, street-side restaurant specializing in dumpling / gyoza / dim-sum, or- a kind of shelter / sanctuary for wildlife or stray, abandoned animals. If you don't mind, I would like to propose to relate my character (it's in the wiki) a little bit to those that have any of the three things I mentioned. Mr. Wheel (my planned RP char) is about 40 years old, and his first real employment which is a staff in an orphanage is about 20+ years ago. So a potentially related character with 20+ years old of current age would be in theory is an infant back there who might remember Mr. Wheel as one of the staff who regularly became a target of pranks from the kids. For the dumpling restaurant, it's a small, cheap eatery somewhere not too far from a main street of a city, popular for its delicious, freshly made dumplings yet sold with such low profit margins so it is very affordable to all travelers and adventurers with budget constraints. -Wheel worked here as its kitchen staff about 15 years ago for 3 years straight. Finally for the animal shelter, Mr. Wheel spends his time working here after he resigned from the restaurant, until 6 years ago his best friend, a bird, somehow escaped the shelter and thus marks the beginning of his journey throughout Hydaelyn in search of the bird. Thanks for any of your time spent reading or considering this post.

Hi, Koren! In my opinion for a non-RP gameplay, a main character is simply a character of which you (as the player) invest in the most, whether it is your playtime, plannings, dungeon loots, achievements, mastery and understanding of the character's skills, talent builds, etc. And for alternate characters... Well I guess most of them starts as a mule or "I want to know more about [x] class" characters. Some will find that the alt's class is actually better fitting their player's playstyle and thus the alt gradually (or suddenly) becomes a main character. Now for an RP gameplay, I think your main character is simply the character that represents you as how you've been known within your RP community, even if it's a character you're not really comfortable in RP'ing. I mean, it is a character that makes people go, "Hey, it's Koren!" rather than, "Is that Koren's char?"

Hello, ms. Fox! Wow another RP vet is in the house! You're studying professional photography? Maybe we could chat and discuss a bit about the topic if we meet in game (if you don't mind of course!)

Ohhh, finally a female Roegadyn! Howdy! Wow this is excit- "... at four times the height.. and with more murderous tendencies."- ... oh my, should I step back really carefully now?

Heya! IMHO Momoji Momochi sounds cute, very Lalafell-like! (and have a very bubbly, chubby, bouncy feel to it) If I may offer my opinion, I think it sounds better if you omit one "-mo" from the first name, so it becomes either "Mochi Momochi", "Moji Momoji", or "Mosu Momosuki", well you got the idea.
-
Thanks, Kya; I hope I could RP Wheel's character good enough to make you smiles in game! Actually I'm a bit anxious with my real time RP response, because well... English's not my primary language so it takes time for me to express something.
