  1. Where's the love for werelampreys? D:
  2. Like Tadir, I envisioned mithra/miqo'te being cat-like in the sense that they are very predatory by nature, but don't really cross that line into cutesy catgirls. I do think that some natural cat traits can be expected, such as sleeping with a curled tail, going from calm to alert in a split second, etc. The key is that these things shouldn't be elements of a cat persona caricature-ized, but rather base elements that would influence realistic and natural behaviors to a level that is something other-than-human. The hunters in the CoP storyline from XI come to mind, with their unyielding nature being an extension of those cats that just won't stop chasing that invisible fly. Also, for all those who want wolf-people, I hear there's a cataclysm coming soon. :cat: ...I'm kidding, don't hit me! D:

  4. Feel free to add me to the exchange list, I'll throw out a ticket to whomever I receive one from! Username: Soren
  5. I'm in the same camp as those who just feel like its more appropriate to play with people in the same age category. While I've employed a loose age requirement for A.E.T.H.E.R., it isn't really meant to define what sort of content we introduce in RP or to protect us from any angry parents. The only 'angry parent' issue I've ever had is when a guild member in WoW complained that our gchat conversations were too raunchy for the two year old sitting in his lap to be reading. /boggle That being said, in that same WoW guild we managed to acquire a, get this, twelve year old. Tweve. As in the same age as Fyrian's younger brother obsessed with his Wizard 101 and the (thankfully) restricted chat therein. I mean this was just out there, I don't know why we didn't kick him sooner considering the kinds of blatant immaturity he was bringing into guild chat. Maybe there was some humor in it, or it could also be that the guild was finally in its death throes by that time. Either way, lesson learned there. Eesh.
  6. I was tempted towards Thaliak at first, but I've always been more of the 'lightning' guy so, combined with the black mage / white mage duality for Soren and Fyrian (and Fyrian being a 'water' guy), I decided to go with Rhalgr. I'm still working out exactly how it'll influence the character at large, though.
  7. My understanding is that this wiki would consolidate established lore/histories, correct? A.E.T.H.E.R.'s encyclopedia won't be focusing on anything like that, rather it'll be more of a creative work embellishing on what is already there. I don't see there being much, if any, redundancy between the two. I suppose it comes down to whether or not the encyclopedia would be classified as guild-centric lore or not. I'd personally say it is, but at the same time I don't want to stick to that position if people feel our contributions would be better off with the community as a whole. TL;DR: If enough people think 'fanfiction' embellishment upon existing lore is worth sticking on the same site as the official texts themselves, then I'm open to discussing it.
  8. Generally I was never a huge fan of the FFXI soundtrack / Naoshi Mizuta to begin with, as it felt like a step backwards from Nobuo Uematsu's contributions and, especially given the platforms, sounded almost like midis in a lot of ways. I mean the harmonies were good, I own all the soundtracks, and it did its job in the game, but comparatively? Meh. I'm very glad we've got Nobuo taking care of XIV. Also, I'm amused that I have similar feelings for XI despite it being maybe my 4th or 5th MMO. I think its because it was so similar to my first (EQ1) that I developed the same fondness. Maybe XIV will finally do the same. :approve:
  9. Thanks all! :cheer: That cake looks delicious! I think maybe it's because it has a moogle on it. That does mean it' was made with grade-A moogle meat, yes? ...I always figured moogles tasted like marshmallows <3
  10. I'm loving the look of it, and can't really think of anywhere to nitpick. I will however curse and rue you for leaving me to do more image-work after I just spent a few painstaking hours extracting the images of Soren and Fyrian for new signatures D: *scurries off to construct an emblem*
  11. An even more direct method: Right click the text layer -> blending options -> stroke -> profit!
  12. Wilderness Survival 101 Adventuring can be a dangerous lifestyle, and sometimes you aren't prepared for what the wild throws at you! This diagram illustrates an example of what you can do in a deadly-dire situation. I haven't ever tried chocobo myself, but this drawing sure makes it look yummy...
  13. Timestamps for each interview for those interested: 27:00: Music break ends, Interview with Stormguard (Keir) begins 37:45: Crimson Blade (ArmachiA & Ellion) interview begins 54:35: T.A.L.E. (Mythis) interview begins 1:13:25: A.E.T.H.E.R. (Soren Miren) interview begins 1:30:20: Group discussion[/list:u] Once I finish listening through the whole thing, I'll go back and add timestamps for the guilds that were mentioned at the beginning of the podcast. Edit: Timestamps for guilds who were discussed, but not interviewed: 1:15: Prima Vista 4:45: Remnant 10:10: Aetheryte Holdings, Ltd. 12:50: House Seith'kar[/list:u]
  14. Goobbue I drew a gluttonous goobbue today! Noimari may be scared of morbols, but personally I can't stand these hulking halfwits! I take one look at that gaping maw and all I can think about is being chewed up. Its absolutely bone-chilling!
  15. Yeah, I've seen that list. Wasn't sure how true it may be this close to launch but after this news... I'm so curious to know what the Arcanist and Mystic could be =O Also, Samurai ftw <3
  16. Soren grew up in Ul'dah, but he shipped off for Gridania for the conjurer's guild and ideal location, so that'll be where he starts in-game. ...unless something gets introduced that has me playing something other than a conjurer. Then its up in the air.
  17. Bah! Now I must re-evaluate whether Soren shall be an alchemist or a goldsmith...*ponders* Glad to see they are revealing more classes, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least one more Disciple of Magic.
  18. Thanks for having me, guys ^^ I had a blast, and I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere we had going right from the start. I'm really looking forward to hearing it all over again and counting my slip-ups and lost-train-of-thoughts. :joker:
  19. Morbol Attack! I drew a morbol attacking Noimari! I wish I had bigger books, I couldn't fit her next to the morbol so she looks weird just floating there. I'm also not good at drawing people yet, but I'll keep working on it! Noimari yelled at me when I showed it to her. I don't think she liked it. I guess morbols scare a lot of people, huh?
  20. The Trouble With Bombs Those bombs sure can be pesky! Thankfully I've drawn this delightful diagram explaining how to tell when you should drop what you're doing and start running away! I think the pictures are really going to help the new edition of A.E.T.H.E.R.'s manual! A.E.T.H.E.R. Ranks Diagram Have you ever wondered what sort of outstanding opportunities A.E.T.H.E.R. offers? Well thanks to my transcendent talents, I've come up with this delightful diagram! Look, there's a cactuar! That's all I have for now, but I'm always doodling, so come back later and see what's new!
  21. /finally finishes catching up on the new posts Yeah, my intention here isn't to spread worry or anything. What I want is to avoid conjecture and provide clear routes towards our goal. Anyway, I'm glad to see people airing out their concerns civilly. I'm not sure that I have anything more to add at this point, so I'll just wait and see what else comes.
  22. I'll second wanting to hear the opinion of a "declared freelancer" on the subject. Would it truly be so imbalanced if, for example, each guild represented in the Coalition was given 1 vote (as in per guild, rather than per representative), and freelancers were given a poll, the results of which would count as a freelance vote to be tallied alongside those of the guilds? This way everyone still technically has a voice, but it still greatly reduces the time involved in polling and the potential drama.
  23. I'll refrain from commenting on any specific player(s) from the Aion community, but I do think its important to recognize that subversive behaviors can come from anyone, even those with the popular interest at heart, to sway things such as these. Aside from the previously suggested measures, it may also be prudent to discuss what kind of vote we will have well in advance of actually having said vote. As a community site I think ARP was obligated to open the poll to every individual. If this site is specifically devoted to the coalition as an organization and individuals who wish to associate with the coalition, then we have the option of reserving voting rights to representatives of affiliated guilds. Given that the requirements to have a seat on the RPC aren't necessarily subjective, I don't think its unfair to go this route. Those who choose a guild/linkshell/company before launch already have their representation in the coalition. If individual guilds like, they can hold their own private polls on their websites/forums in advance of the coalition poll, and vote for the winner of their individual poll. I'm expecting someone will bring up the ethics involved in not acknowledging the freelancers for such a poll. For the sake of not critting anyone with a wall o'text, I'll just keep off that subject until that time >.>
  24. I don't blame you for it, hehe. The ARP situation was pretty toxic.
