  1. I would love to help, unfortunately FB is blocked at work and there's no way I could reliably keep it up to date. I have to constantly check social site updates on my phone. Out of curiosity, does the RPC use twitter?
  2. I have memories of playing Dissidia during a 7.5hr flight. The kid next to me looked so forlorn with his book. (I did let him play for a while... )
  3. I heard about this. So sad... but what a very noble and selfless thing to do at the last minute. We all die some day, but personally I would want to know that my death held some meaning or I was able to save or protect another before I go. R.I.P....
  4. Congrats to Gerick! :bounce: Really looking forward to hearing this now!
  5. The people who are trying emulate a British accent are brave in my book. I've been living in England for 7 years and have yet to meet a Brit that actually likes it when anyone tries to put on one of their accents. This isn't by any means dissuading anyone from giving it a go (heck, we all did it at one time or another) but I think that if we were going to go with a British narrator they should be a native, out of respect (this holds true for any accent!) You wouldn't want a Brit putting on a bad southern (American) accent, would you? P.S. Actors like Hugh Laurie and Christian Bale are an exception!
  6. ((I don't know how I missed this before! This looks fab- what a great sounding event!))
  7. Wow, very stunning work! Can't wait to see more!
  8. Sent a PM your way, Nel. I'm really loving these recordings! Tagyr- The pirate style was my favourite.
  9. Lunar powers and all that, I suppose. I agree with you though... d'oh is the word.
  10. I have a blog I've outfitted with a bit of what you describe (link in sig). It's Wordpress, very versatile and customisable if you know a bit of php and css. If SE is doing such a thing (I didn't know either) then it may be worthwhile to wait until it is available. Woops, spoke too soon.
  11. You draw some really nifty stuff! I particularly love the way you capture expressions! I hope we'll get to see more!
  12. Pretty close call! Excellent. See you all there!
  13. I posted a suggestion on the news post. I'm not sure if it got noticed at all since things seem to get avalanched pretty quickly here. I don't want to spam but was just trying to offer a helpful suggestion if we're trying to make the voting a bit punchier! *goes back to hiding in paper bag*
  14. Castiel, your'e a star! Thanks for all your hard work! Also thanks to the community as a whole - you're a lovely bunch!
  15. Hi guys, I'm not sure if this would be considered but is it possible to put an announcement somewhere in the forum header with a link to the voting post? It took me about 5-10 minutes of looking around before I spotted the voting post. I know that it may seem kind of a lazy request but it may help those who are coming here from other forums to vote (and may be helpful for others like me who have to make every second of forum browsing count)! It's hard for me to get on once I'm at work so I often miss out on a lot of mid-day posting. We already have a big DNS block going on (no Youtube, FB, etc) - I have a feeling they'll start blocking more things soon. Just a suggestion... not sure how easy or desirable it would be. x
  16. I could slap my husband for saying this, but I did chuckle.... He said if you turned the two boobs into four it would be grand.
  17. I agree - that would be awesome! :bounce:
  18. I'm a bit late to throw my pence in, but I chose a Miqo'te Keeper NOT because they are cat-like. In fact, I don't think of them as cats at all. Unless there was an official source proving otherwise, I hope I don't see a /purr or /miao emote ever! I think of them more as half-beastmen/women. They are undeniably cute, but I was hoping to have the option of creating one that looked a bit older than the examples I've seen so far from the beta. Beggars can't be choosers though so I'll make do with whatever we get. I was very torn between Elezen and Miqo'te. In the end, Miqo'te seemed to be more a bit more in line with what I was after - a nocturnal race, 'reticent', with a belief in phenomenal cosmic powerrrrsss (okay, just lunar powers), the list goes on. It will be slightly interesting if it turns out that the server has a veritable Miqo'te invasion at release.

  20. Thank you for the comments. If we had access to the creation of male Miqo'te, I likely would have chosen Kakino as my main. I like his cheeky little fang!
  21. These have been several weeks in the making. Work dominates so much of my free time that these projects have been very long term. Longer than I intended. I am absolutely terrible at drawing anime-style. I always imagine my characters to be a bit more western-looking, anyway. Although I studied art in Uni it has been a very long time since I've done much of anything. I always need to work from life, so I pulled together a few references and mashed them together. I am a bit old school, so the sketch was done with good old pencil and paper. My character, Zyanya, and her son, Kakino: Here is the coloured version. This was done in Gimp and it is my first attempt in about 6 years. Miqo'te always seemed so adolescent-looking. I was hoping to capture a slightly different perspective. Honest feedback/comments/criticisms are welcome.
  22. "Don't let yourself be seen," she says, as if I'd come galloping through blowing a blasted trumpet. That Naanel, she's a bloody mother hen. No one here. Sounds about right... birds are singing. Evening in a few bells. How does she know he'll come this way? Why would anyone live here? There's nothin' but trees. Well, not my problem if he doesn't see it. This is the spot. Just as she described it. Place the book here... and job done. I'm half tempted to read it, but she made me promise not to. Should I? No. Well. Hells, just a peek. Some folded papers. Bah, letters... none of my business. Something fell. What's this? Well... never would have thought you an artist, mother hen. I'd best put this back. Time to go. Hope you find it, kid. (The continuation can be found here.)
  23. The only complaints it kicked up were my CPU and Windows Vista.
  24. Aye, my first concept will also be a bit Western-looking once I decide to stop picking at it. Those two look like they're definitely up to a bit of hooliganism (and the Moogle does, too)!
