Somewhat Deranged Warrior Seeking Companions
Thrashing Boar replied to illust's topic in Chronicled Connections
An interesting Lala for sure! If you're still looking for connections look for me on "Thrashing Boar." The big man can definitely hold his liquor, and the scruffy cowboy has a soft spot for Lala friends. -
As someone who RP's with Aiobelle often I can attest to how interesting RP'ing with her is. Her character is an interesting mash up of cool ideas, and often when you think she might go left, she goes right, keeping a scene moving along in well written, captivating fashion. I can't fill her position myself, but if you're wondering at all if it would be worth it to invest in a connection I absolutely reccomend doing so. Some truly adorable and fascinating RP to be had!

Bounty Hunter for Hire! (or Blame~)

He's pretty neat if I do say so. Hit me up in game sometime if you'd like! Name's the same as the forum handle! -
balmung Seeking sister and daughter for Roegadyn
Thrashing Boar replied to Thrashing Boar's topic in Chronicled Connections
Update: The daughter position has been filled, but I am still looking for his sister. Oh, and he's in also in the market for an Ala Mhigan monk. Preferably an older character to act as a mentor in the art of traditional Ala Mhigan combat. I'd like them to have known one another for quite some time, and in fact they could be -the- Ala Mhigan that first taught the cowboy Roe the ways of the fist! -
Hello! Question: how would one go about hiring your organization for an investigation?

Bounty Hunter for Hire! (or Blame~)
Thrashing Boar replied to lutroxical's topic in Chronicled Connections
I wonder, hm... Your character gives me an idea for an RP, heh. I play a Roegadyn that's basically a cowboy, and as such he's not opposed to bounty hunting for the coin if he truly needs it. As a big fan of westerns I'm often on the lookout for characters that could fit into classic plots from those movies. What do you think of an RP where the two of them come together to track and kill a group of murderers, dangerous men all. It'd be interesting if we added a third as well, but that's up to you. It'd be an old west style bounty hunt; tracking men by their trails, inquiring at saloons, yada yada. What do you think? -
balmung Sage Emeraude - Elezen in need of connections!
Thrashing Boar replied to Admiah Kreiston's topic in Chronicled Connections
Afternoon! I wonder if you might like meeting my cowboy Roegadyn. He's a reformed criminal, so there's that, but he tends to remain on the right side of the law these days. He's a hard worker as well, and he's scratched out a living in the chocobo trade while dabbling in bird husbandry. He's a pure gentleman though, which she might appreciate given her nature. The main reason I think this might have an interesting dynamic, is Thrash is 32, and most of his criminal activities are from ten or so years ago when he and his gang were quite notorious. Technically, he's still a wanted man, but with all the recent events most wouldn't recognize him, giving him a chance to go straight. Should she remember him, there could be a relationship of respect and friendship possibly, but it might be fun if she attempts to bring him in now and then, or teases him about it. -
ISO New Friends, Family, & Ex Husband for Necromancer
Thrashing Boar replied to Miakoda's topic in Chronicled Connections
I'm interested in the ex-husband connection, if you're still looking. I'm "Thrashing Boar" on Balmung. If you'd like to talk more about you can reply here, or message me privately or even in game. He's 32, so he could have been married when he was younger. I'll leave a picture of him here in case you'd like to see him. You have a good one! -
balmung Seeking sister and daughter for Roegadyn
Thrashing Boar posted a topic in Chronicled Connections
Evenin' folks, I'm looking for two connections: one, a female Hellsguard Roegadyn, and the other a female Lalafell. First a little about myself: I'm 'Thrashing Boar' on Balmung, and I'm a Hellsguard Roe in the Thaliak's Eye roleplaying guild. I'm on most every day in the afternoon until late in the evening, though my weekends can be spotty depending on real life circumstances. I partake in tavern, combat and scenario RP often. I'm also fine with past RP, i.e RP that takes place at a point in a character's past to help flesh out relationships. A little about Thrashing Boar: "Thrash," as his close friends refer to him, is a hulking desert cowboy. Having spent close to ten years in the Thanalan desert, he's come close to inventing his own language, which sounds an awful lot like the talk you'd hear in an old western. His voice is gruff, he smokes, he drinks and -when there are no ladies around- he spits. His best friend is a monstrous black chocobo he calls "Clementine," who's still wild and untamed. He wanders the land searching for any sign of his daughter, who's been presumed dead for five years. Thrashing Boar is an established character with several connections already, but let's get into the ones I'm looking for here. I'll also provide some history on how he came to know both connections. -
Proposed guild name: The Eighty Sins (SINS) Significance: The reference here is twofold, and the first is rather obvious to those familiar with the Thanalan; the stairs ascending from the Central desert up into the city proper. The second is the number of members within the Free Company's canon. Regardless of the company's true size there will be no more than eighty members in the narrative, with many of them being filled out by NPC's controlled by the company's writers. The "Sins" is attributed to the often criminal nature of most of the company's original members, as well as the recruitment of such men that might be considered morally questionable in the vein of accomplishing the greater good. The Tale so far: In the wake of the Calamity the realm suffered like never before, what with the would be heroes of the hour, Adventurers, being swept off on the charred winds of the thrice damned Elder Primal, Bahamut. With a sudden lack of willing souls to delve into the darkest corners of the realm, the beasts that lurked just over our shoulders became brazen, and ventured forth to our doorsteps... The scattered peoples of Eorzea banded together to turn the tide of the war after the war, fighting to keep what little they still had free from the clutches of beasts and monsters. Unbeknownst to most, criminals and outlaws found themselves freed from their dilapidated and abandoned prisons, and while some took to murder and mayhem upon the unwitting and unprepared populace, others took to wandering, searching for a fresh start in other lands. Thus did the sinners gather. Coming together in the Thanalan at the behest of a mysterious benefactor, the bewildered outlaws were groomed into a mercenary band during a period of undeniable need for such men. Where the Brass Blades dare not tread, where the Flame's Light did not reach, the Eighty Sins would be found turning their swords on the enemies of Eorzea. Then, one by one, Adventurers began to return to the realm, and the reformed band of criminals were hunted by those they had protected until scarce but a handful remained. Their good deeds forgotten. In the past few turns of the moon however, rumors have trickled in with the vagrants and vagabonds pouring into Ul'dah in search of refuge from the smoldering remains of their livelihood; the same benefactor from the days just after the Calamity has sent out the call to his old men, and the Eighty Sinners of the Thanalan gather once more. What in the seven hells do they intend for the realm, and do they return as friend...or foe? The premise: An homage to the "Band of the Hawk" from the masterful "Berzerk" the Sins return to their previous glory will run the gambit of mission types and wildly varying objectives. The most linear description of the path of the Sins is one of a gathering of new and old outlaws, sell swords, and weary soldiers, resuming their selfless work for the peoples of the Thanalan. The guild leader and his associates will make a valiant attempt at reforming the more hardened criminals of the band...by directing their ire onto the enemies of Ul'dah. The blood on the sand is not forgotten, however, and the ultimate aim of the reformed Eighty Sins is to rise their leaders to prominence in Ul'dah by way of continued and faithful service to the crown, until the Sins are brought into the Immortal Flames and made their own self contained militant entity. Once the Company has its hands deep into the filth of the city state, they will begin to alter the laws to favor them, and repay the ever so kind Adventurers for mounting so many of their heads on pikes for paltry sums of coin. This will mark a major turn for the guild from Chaotic Good to Lawful Evil. Member size: 30-40 Focus: Story telling and personal character growth Personal storytelling Slight canon flexibility In game event and time line acknowledgement IC dungeon and Guildhest runs PVE and raid progression Guild "titles" and rewards Paid work for artisans What we're looking for: A good few writers. The story telling of the Sins will take place in volume and chapter formats, with the focus on a single "story teller" for a given chapter with some (that are so inclined) perhaps even planning out entire volumes on the path to our prominence. One shots and non canon stories are welcomed as well, as the goal of having writers is to allow them to grow and express themselves within the guild. A website designer. This one is a must. Making an Enjin or Guildlaunch is one thing, making one look outstanding is another. Should the site designer feel no cause to remain with the guild upon the sites completion (and provided its a truly interesting design) they will be compensated financially by myself. A PVE Co Leader. Something I find important to the longevity of any guild, RP or not, is a section designated to running and clearing the PVE content. While this is in no way the focus of the Sins, it will be there for those that want to still be able to play with their friends within the guild even when they aren't up for drowning their sorrows at the Quicksand with guildies. The duties of this co leader will be discussed, but they will have full control over their portion of the guild provided any major decisions are discussed with me. A video editor. This one is less important, and is more of a personal wish of mine. I enjoy the idea of our chapters having a small video introduction to promote continued excitement from members and potential recruitment prospects alike. Founders: All of the above positions are staples of the guild, but first and foremost I require founders. This needs to be a group of people that agree with the direction and ideas of the guild enough to help lay the ground work to getting it up, running, and successful. My contributions to the project will range from writing, to planning, to funding to leadership, and I need a table of officers I can trust to responsibly handle things when I am not able to. Founders (In RP) will be members of the first Eighty Sins, survivors of the great hunt that purged so many of our brothers in arms. This will also come with in guild combat perks, which can be discussed in full at a later date. Who I am: I am a role player and avid MMO supporter of more than half a decade assisting and running guilds. I have had major story line control in two such guilds, and have always led justly and fairly. The formation of this guild stems from my desire to see a guild on Balmung reach notoriety for its superior storytelling, character development, and collection of fun loving drama free members. I look forward to playing and growing with you all. You may contact me regarding any of the above positions at "[email protected]" should I be unable to check this site and I shall began talking and planning with you once we have discussed your abilities at length. For any interested, please post why you think you would be a good fit and for what position, or simply express your interest in the guild! Have leadership experience elsewhere? Fantastic! Be sure to say so!
