  1. Found you! I also made a LS Hall entry. I left out the shady info mongering bits... for now, at least. Simpler may be best. c:
  2. [you receive a letter in the mail. attached to it is an ear cuff adorned with a small pearl.] Greetings, fellow adventurer. Your application for sponsorship has been evaluated and accepted. Please see to the attached linkpearl for your weekly schedule. If the linkpearl is damaged or lost, please contact us within twenty-four bells for a replacement. Lack of communication for extended periods may result in termination of your affiliation. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you for your interest in our organization. May Oschon guide your path. [a stamp of a wing motif decorates the bottom of the page.] The Wings is the name of an association of adventurers that has branches all across Eorzea. Its purpose is to provide adventurers with funding for their endeavors, although 'adventurer' is really a broad term that encompasses all sorts of people - mercenaries, artisans, scholars, and just about anyone else in need of money. They are highly professional, highly efficient, highly punctual, and moderately strict. The Wings will fund your personal endeavors and, in exchange, they expect quality work in return. Associates receive new job schedules on a weekly basis - some mandatory, some optional. As long as the work is up to par, they will be very generous in their sponsorship. Interested applicants may contact staff via their various outposts in Eorzea. It is also possible for a current associate to recommend someone, in which case the Wings will contact them directly. The association was closed for new affiliates for several years (since before the Calamity), until very recently. It has now started advertising for affiliation again. So far, we have 22 people in the LS (along with various alts). Many of us are nocturnal, with some of us being really nocturnal. You're still likely to find people online and willing to RP earlier in the day! We can generally be found from 9 PM EST until... considerably later (5 AM EST or later, some days). A FC exists (currently rank 4) strictly to provide FC bonuses for those who don't have one. Participation in the FC is not necessary, and you can leave the FC at your leisure, even if you do join. The LS itself is OOC, for setting up RP IC, which can be carried out via /party, /em, /say, /tell, private temporary linkshells, or whatever you'd prefer. We follow the game lore, but we understand needing to twist it a bit to suit your needs. Lastly! We encourage RP plots, and encourage people to participate if they wish. These will likely mostly advance during our scheduled IC meetings. We have one ongoing at the moment.
  3. Sure thing! I'll try to catch you online later today. c:
  4. Cerise is likely to actively avoid those she recognizes as dragoons, though if he is also a deserter, she's more likely to relax a little (would still be wary - lore says deserters are hunted down, and she doesn't want to take any risks in that regard). Maliqa does interact fairly well with cheerful people - in the sense that they usually don't get awkward in response to her own awkwardness. She has so far not been to Limsa, but she would travel there (and anywhere, seriously) for work, so we could probably set something up. c:
  5. Thanks so much for all the interest! I need to finish the requests I already got and I got a little busy IRL, so I'm closing requests for the time being. I'll keep posting them as I finish them! And to get some more rust off, here's a really rough non-chibi sketch of my grumpy researcher, Elissa:
  6. Man, I dunno if it's the player search that's wonky, but I can't ever find anyone online D| I'm trying to find you guys aaaa I'm sorry
  7. D: But that'd be such a waste! Kill to draw like better people. ;w; But thank you! In terms of being rusty, I think what happens is you lose some fluidity/speed and make more mistakes (so you take even longer to do things). As I'm drawing these I'm slowly getting faster (to the point I've started to clean them up a bit) so it really is helping me get back in drawing shape. I may chance a non-chibi soon. c:
  8. You mean Elissa? If Naih'ir is currently in Gridania, they can probably run into each other soon! c: What time are you usually on? :oa
  9. Double posting to say I updated the first post! I'm also trying to put together a LS concept over here that pretty much all of my alts except probably Cerise (at least right now) would have a reason to affiliate to. It'd likely be a much easier venue for catching me online, since I have all my alts in one place. But, of course, you don't need to join! I'm totally up for RP outside of that. I'm still looking for steady character relationships/partners on all my alts. I have found some! I'm just greedy OK >:C FTR, if our characters don't mesh well, no worries. Also, I'll gladly toss other alts at you if you want! And lastly, the character wanting most for RP right now is Maliqa - she did have some very fun RP with a group, but I sadly haven't seen them on in a few days, so I'm not sure if they're still playing. She's very hard to interact with outside of combat, unless you are a fairly clueless sort who is unlikely to notice her discomfort. If she interests you, please let me know! I'm going to try sending PMs to everyone who posted here but I haven't RP'd with yet, to see if we can set something up. Thanks, guys! Y'all rock.
  10. I think that kind of rumor might get in the way more than help, mostly because characters who don't deal in shady things would probably not like that. I mean, they do have ulterior motives, people just don't know. :oa I do mean money provided for the purposes of education, yeah! They will pay for your studies, if that's what you need.
  11. Please accept my humble rendition!
  12. I'll go ahead and try to add you guys to the newly made LS. I'm sticking all my alts into it, for easy contacting. Edit: OK! Contact any of these in-game for an invite: Khyros Oroban Elissa Vermont Ethne Lancaster Cerise Vallois Maliqa Lamahni Lyra'to Maegah Rhesh Awanah And like Doshka17 said, even if it doesn't take off, maybe we can make some RP friends. c:
  13. Cool! We're mostly scouting to see if anyone would be interested in becoming an affiliate, and then getting set up for some RP whenever. c: I already made a LS, there's only the two of us in it now, obviously - I can send you an invite, if you want? No strings attached yet, need to be sure it's viable. I suppose I should also mention what it is that they're doing, IC-- Elissa is a researcher affiliated to the Immortal Flames. She researches Primals and tempering. Recently she packed up her research, hired an escort (Khyros), and left to research other Primals (since she has primarily focused on Ifrit thus far). All was well and good until everything they had (including personal belongings) was stolen. And now they're stranded in Gridania with no money, no ariship pass, no provisions, and no research. Thus the opportunity to affiliate to the Wings will present itself, so that they can at least make the trip back to her home in Ul'dah for money/new airship passes. They'll also be trying to get their stuff back. Basically! They'll be traveling together for a while, in an RPG adventure sort of way. And we'd love to get more people to join them - or even just for some random RP fun with. If the LS doesn't work, we just keep RPing them, no big. It'd be cool to have more people though. c:
  14. I'll try to catch y'all in-game sometime! If you see any of my (numerous) alts on, feel free to holler. o/
  15. OK, now that my arm is better, I can repost (and rework) the idea! I know several LSes like this type already exist, and I know they tend to be popular and fill up fast, so you may have a hard time getting into one (or they may have incompatible timezones). One more can't hurt! The IC premise: The Wings is the name of an association that sponsors individuals all over Eorzea. They can be artists, adventurers, crafters, gatherers, or have any other number of talents. All it takes is being an affiliate. Ways in which they can sponsor you (or someone on your behalf): - Pay for travel expenses/provide mounts - Arrange for permission to enter normally restricted areas - Pay for provisions and housing - Scholarships - Supply you with quality equipment (weapons, armor, research apparel, etc) - Any number of things that take money In return, you are given jobs to perform regularly. The more they sponsor you, the more work you do. Jobs usually have additional pay attached which is not considered part of the sponsorship. Jobs generally depend on the skills you said you had when you affiliated. They could be pretty much anything, similar to the in-game quests and leves. They do not do assassinations or any type of illegal job. As far as anyone's concerned, they are a squeaky clean organization. Buuut since nothing is perfect, and this is unknown even to most Wings staff, a certain organization pulls a few strings every once in a while. They specialize in information trading, rumor mongering, and generally anything that will push a (wealthy) client's agenda. So while to you a job of "locate item Y" may seem harmless, it may actually have a hidden purpose - it can be good, like item Y turning out to be important and earn you the gratitude of someone important, or bad, like luring you into a trap. scrapped for now! OOCly, of course, there will not be any hidden purpose unless you want there to be one. The idea is to both give characters a reason to bond - e.g. by doing joint jobs, or just meeting via Wings - and an IC excuse to pull a plot device. The organization can, for instance, know a deep dark secret of yours, if you want. And they can give fate a friendly push for others to find out, too. It's up to you how to use that. You can also decide on a job you want to be sent to you, for instance. Say you have a crafter and you want an excuse to interact with someone who has gathering skills - the job could be to make quality items out of a certain material, and be sent to the two characters so they can cooperate. Actually turning in items or killing stuff wouldn't be necessary. All that's necessary is to pretend your character did it! But of course, the idea is to use jobs as an excuse to RP, so if you RP them, even better. A FC may be made (not mandatory) just so people without one can get FC bonuses and such. The LS would be OOC, for chatting and setting up RP. If people like, there can be regularly scheduled events. Like an IC dungeon run night, where the job to run a dungeon is sent to everyone (who wants to participate). Or there may be an optional job advertised to the entire network for anyone who wants to show up. That sort of thing. -------------- That's about it for the idea. Nothing too groundbreaking, but hey! The idea came up because myself (for my alt Elissa Vermont) and Oroban (for Khyros Oroban) wanted an excuse to get more people involved in a little storyline we're developing. Our characters got robbed and will affiliate so they can continue what they were doing - and a LS like this would give us a perfect IC excuse to get more folks to hear about what it is that they were doing. Getting involved in our little story isn't required! You'd be more than welcome to incorporate it into your own story, if you wanted. So welp! Checking to see if anyone would be interested. If we do have interest, we'll set up a schedule for starting IC activity. Note: We wouldn't have timezone restrictions or anything, but Oroban and I are (very) nocturnal. I usually hop on around 9 PM eastern and can stay on up until 5 AM some days. Oroban is usually on later and stays awake until roughly the same time. So people who mostly play outside of those times might not see much of us around. Sorry. ): Please let me know if you'd be interested! I wanted to ask before making a LS Hall entry and such. There are also finer details to work out that input would be stellar for. Thank you!
  16. 'Tis done! Now I'll be distracted 4rlz.
  17. In most countries, you actually can't buy Crysta. I'm in Brazil, and can't. I know Guam and Puerto Rico can't, either.
  18. I'm about to get very distracted for a while! So here's a WIP to keep you company. I'll post the finished one later!
