As someone wandering about FC-less, but have led Guilds in the past in other games, I gravitate to groups with stringent application processes. For one, it tells me that they take care in crafting a good environment for their members, and in the case of story-driven FCs, care that new players that pass the process will likely fit in and hit the ground running in their respective storyline, with much less risk of being disruptive or out of place. This is important for smaller groups. As many others have pointed out, people play their characters very differently, with some breaking the mold a tad to create something really fun and unique, while others shape theirs to fit within the box that is the world and gain their enjoyment in that way. Both are very different and viable takes on RP, but both are often mutually exclusive from each other in my experience.

I'm kinda curious about Yugiri's Roegadyn companion. He was given a Doma name, Gotetsu, so it is a bit different from the usual. A new clan entirely? Or a Hellsguard/Seawolf that decided to translate his name to the local naming conventions. As to the content craziness. Whatever happens we now have two possible avenues to expand upon storywise. I'm real curious about how the story will make us head to the East. Honestly I'm quite excited since we are back to Garleans again, and we are actually going up against a Royal this time too.

Welcome! I've recently come back from a WoW period myself. It's a good time to play catch up as even now I've still got countless things to do.

Hello! I spoke you to awhile ago (Gold Shade). I have a tricky question in regards to activity. Dunno if your members assorted timezones account for this, but I am a JST (Japan standard time), which is somewhere in the middle of things timezone wise I guess. I play often on my nights and a lot on the weekends, but as far as intersecting times it might be sporadic, though doubtless my timezone would cover someones morning/night because I am a nightowl myself (which'd be US mornings/EU Afternoons), even for a little. Would that be a deterrent if I was to apply (if \when you open recruitment again)?.

Well there's some names I haven't seen in awhile! Good to know you are still about. Will definitely add you in game.

This'd probably be the third time I've post a thread in this section. Each time has a few more years in between. The first, was in 1.0, a few weeks before the first release when I was a listless individual looking for something to do in life. The 2nd time was around 3 years ago, around when ARR came out and I was in University. Now I'm back again. Posting here as a returning player, now from the home of FF, Japan, acting as an Assistant English Teacher. IRL Information Over! I'm Tagyr. My main toon is a Hellsguard who went by the name of Thagyr Rhaldgrid, though with RP having gone on for a few years I might change his name to get a fresh start (as well as conform to Hellsguard naming conventions). If you remember me, that's awesome! I'm glad I left some impression with his gruff attitude and apparently shiny eyes. I've played and RPed across a number of MMOs including WoW and Aion. But my RP started when I was 14 playing a text based MUD called Achaea, which taught me a fair bit about how to describe a world and it's people in pure words. Looking to get into RP again. It's an itch that hasn't been scratched by gaming's modern trends, and I remember my time in FFXIV fondly. Though. The game is probably a different beast more now than ever. So I'll be the big red Roe getting lost and fumbling with new concepts till he gets his feet wet, while probably filling the vast deficiency in Roegadyn population that I assume is still present. Looking forward to meeting you all either as fresh faces or old ones. ADD: Might have to update my signature and profile. TIS OLD

Thought it was a female Voldemort for a minute. Just missing the nose.

Drawing on the previous games is a FF staple. Though I won't object to an Auron outfit...only if they introduce Seymour/Yuna outfits for Summoners.

As an Australian when I ever see a red marker I need to be out and halfway to Narnia to avoid whatever is associated with it. It isn't so bad, though I fear for when and if I ever start doing harder dungeons/raids. You really start noticing how bad it can get when you try to dodge the worst of it, like that cyclops in Coerthas with the 100 tonne insta-death swing.

Dark Knight - 30 Marauder, 15 Conjurer pleeease.

Yeah, Miyazaki collaborated in a lot of his movies, but he had creative control over the entire process. In any case, he has placed a very high bar for Ghibli's future with him stepping out the picture. That said, I can't think of anyone more deserving of a nice retirement.

Apparently he popped up on a lot of servers. All ending in the same fashion, he was nearly or close to dead, but he just decided he was bored and killed everyone in a flashy display before vanishing. Players are wondering if they should have /kneel in order to avoid instant death like they used to. It highlighted an annoyance since Odin, despite his importance and power, isn't a priority render in comparison to dozens upon dozens of players. Causing him to go invisible if someone was to move too far away from him.

Carbuncles are shiny little fluffy pets, while on top of that being pretty useful. Whenever there are a bunch of them out it looks like the beginnings of some kinda miniature rave show. As a MRD I find the little buggers interesting. It has helped since I am learning to tank, and in both instances there was a Topaz out. I wasn't aware that they had so much Enmity generation though, I was just thinking I wasn't geared/doing my job right when I could claw mobs off the shiny punching bag.

My 1.0 collectors is still registered to me. However, yet again they tempt me with something new . I also found it funny that a swimsuit location is ominously named Bloodshore.

Well, it did take them awhile to appear, and as per the description they are shy. Perhaps they are extremely self-conscious of hygiene by nature, which may include wondering about what microbes exist and how it is best to avoid getting them on their tail, or hands, or face... Maybe this is the real reason they are so shy. The world is much too dirty.
