16. [iC - Nashri'a] Seventh Umbra Era Year 5 - "New Era" As the new era ushers in, the survivors of the Calamity are slowly picking up with their lives. New songs sung, young adventurers take flight on an embarking journey for glory of heroism, lands prosper. As for myself? I have been travelling all around Eorzea on my two feet and a lute in my arms, only the song of Menphina to guide me. I wonder if it was futile as they all say -- To cure the Tempered, that is. The Primals feast upon adulation of their tempered followers and thrive with their prayers. I felt beyond the Echo's will, there is another way to undo the taint on the Tempered ones. I see the Aether around us as threads woven so intricately like tapestry and the Primal's influence are the dead knots that ruin it. We just have to untangle the knots and weave in new strings to repair the frame. There must be another way other than Death to save the Tempered ones. Poor Lly'ir. I have abandoned him for so long. When I met my brother again, I had expected him to cast me off for leaving him behind. But he did not and I am grateful for that.
17. [iC Journal] The Impossible Cure For the Tempered. OOC: This IC journal follows the adventures of my Miqo'te bard, Nashri'a, who has been researching Aetheric manipulation for a long time in order to search for a futile cure for the Tempered. Ever since his clan was captured by the Ixals and tempered by Garuda, Nashri'a went on a long journey in search for ways to undo the tempering of the Primals. This IC journal may contain violence, suggestive themes and mature subjects. It will contain all in-character thoughts, observations and details based on my RP as Nashri'a. for character development and insight purposes. Please -do not- meta-game information here. All journal entries are IC and strictly IC only. I am more than happy to arrange and plan RP plots with my characters, so feel free to PM me and discuss! Without further undue, I present you Nashri'a's journal entries! Feel free to leave comments here! --- Introduction of Character Name: Nashri’a Illhakyan Race: Miqo’te Class: Bard Age: 27 Height: 5’8 Occupation: Traveling minstrel, researcher. Place of Birth: Twelveswood. General Nashri’a Illhakyan was born to a clan of leatherworkers and poachers in Gridania. As a child, Nashri’a showed great talent and passion in music, which eventually led to his ambition to discover means to manipulate Aether through voice and sound waves. Despite his remarkable skill in singing and playing musical instruments, Nashri’a’s mother and his clan steered his musical direction away and pushed for him to become an archer, for sake of survival and assisting with the clan’s poaching business. Nashri’a grew up to become a jaded young marksman, competing amongst his sisters and clansmen. Tragedy struck his family and clan one day when the Primal Garuda and Ixal attacked during a hunting expedition, forcing young Nashri’a to flee. After the bloody incident, Nashri’a has never heard from his clan again. After one misfortunes after another, Nashri’a led a lonely life of poverty but he was independent and carefree. Rest of his past remained shrouded and kept under wraps. Currently, Nashri’a works as a traveling minstrel, playing music in taverns, troupes and entertainment establishments. From time to time, he indulges in hunts and poaching wild life, to sustain his lifestyle. Personality At first glance, Nashri’a presents himself as a man of amiable nature and charm; diplomatic and yearning to please the crowd. With his talent in music, Nashri’a enjoys entertaining people and seeking ways to bid for attention. Often thought to be flirtatious and daring, the Miqo’te does extrude a free-spirited, thrill-seeking demeanour. However, his principles and lifestyle strive on conflict, survival and ardent curiosities. Nashri’a is a man who is in love with the savage, the chaotic and the darkest nature of sentient beings. While Nashri’a isn’t an academic individual, he has shown love for knowledge and research, particularly in studies of aetheric manipulation. Regardless of his poverty, Nashri’a invests a lot into teaching himself and indulging into scholarly pursuits. To satiate his need for knowledge, he isn’t hesitant to commit heinous deeds to get what he wants. His dark, mischievous personality often lends into his flighty nature. Nashri’a isn’t an individual who can be seen as reliable or responsible.
18. I really like this post 8D If you don't mind Tiergan, I would like to share this to my guild forums.
19. This is awesome 8D Being an avid Keeper RPer myself, I greatly approve of this. I love reading everyone else's take on their clan's cultures and traditions, it's been an interesting read! Character: Nashri'a Ilhakyan Name: Galereaver clan Families: Ilhakyan and two other unnamed families Allied clan: Ba'al family. Location: Twelveswood. Sexual Mores: The Galereaver clan practices a tradition of 'bartering' their sons for mating and marriage to other Keeper clans to establish diplomacy and continuation of bloodline, particularly with the Ba'al family. Their males do come and go sometimes but the women of the clan are the ones in full control of their choices of mates and may even take multiple husbands if they so desire. Fathers of the clans' children may choose to stay for their mates or leave. Everything's consensual and agreed upon for both parties. Wandering males who desire to join the clan as mates, are welcomed but must go through trials to prove their worth to the clan. Betrothals are not uncommon within their mating traditions. The matriarch and mothers of the clan do betroth their sons to other clans in exchange for favours, assistance and balancing the numbers of the males and females in their own clan. Traditions: Leadership The selection of their matriarch is based on meritocracy. When a late matriarch passes on, the families will vote for the next eldest daughter (from each family) who performed the best and contributed to the clan the most, to lead the clan. As a matriarch, she is expected to perform her duties as the 'clan mother figure', take on command and oversee the clan's welfare. The matriarch will lead the clan until death or deemed unworthy of her position. Jobs, Roles and Finances The Galereaver clan run a poaching business in Twelveswood, selling animal furs, leathers and meat and fund themselves that way. Many of the clan members are leatherworkers, butchers, taxidermists and hunters. From time to time, they barter with other clans for supplies and materials. All men and women in the clan are all expected to know how to hunt and fight in some way and are taught how to poach and ways of survival in the woods since young age. Customs, Traditions and Religion The Galereaver clan are fond of war paints, tattooing and tribal markings to signify special occasions and moments of their lives, such as hunting trophies, achievements and coming of age. E.g. a child might receive a tribal tattoo to reward him/her for their first hunt. The Galereavers are very much devotees of Menphina, the Goddess of Love. Songs and dance are often dedicated to her in the clan during festivities. Shrines are erected in reverence of the goddess. Education and Youth Mothers all have the responsibility to educate their children in the ways of hunting and survival. At a tender age, young children of clan will be expected to learn about the woods, wield a weapon, craft their own gear and taught how to survival in harsh lands. Elder clansmen will also assist in educating younger members, regardless of family. While the children of Galereaver clan are mostly home-schooled, some mothers may choose to send their children to academies and guilds to be further educated. Other notes: The Galereaver clan has an unfortunate (and unspoken) perception of gender inequality. While not openly declared about, the women of the clan are generally favoured over the men, due to the clan's dark history and their first late matriarch's influence. Women of the clan would usually be offered better education and privileges.
20. Art by me. I. Basic Info Primary character: Nashri'a Ilhakyan Linkshells: Grindstone, Aether of Thorns Character wiki: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Nashri%27a_Ilhakyan II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to Heavy. I enjoy all kinds of roleplay types - From casual tavern and socializing to heavy, deep epic plots. Views on RP combat and injuries: Conflict/Combat RP is like my number one love in roleplay. I believe in exchange of 'RP karma' during RP combat where both players are willing to work out who gets to win or lose during combats and take loses/wins next time back and forth for story-telling. I also believe in IC actions equals to IC consequences and taking severity of damage realistically. That means I don't mind having my characters taking injuries, I may even permit disfigurement and dismemberment if it is very crucial to the story/plot. As long as there is no godmodding, no permadeath and metagaming, I am game for anything! Views on IC romance: IC romance isn't the main aspect of my RP nor am I specifically looking for it. My focus is more on deep plots, social RP, combat/conflict RP. However, if it happens naturally in-character and the relationship flows more organically than forced, I am willing to play it out. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I do enjoy having my characters make friends, enemies, comrades and establish family ties. All is go! Views on lore: Lore is important to me. I believe in abiding by it and working within the confines of FFXIV's rich, dynamic lore. And generally, I feel uncomfortable RPing lore-breaking stuff and try not to participate it if it is way out of bounds from the world provided by FFXIV. However, I'm not elitist-strict about it entirely. If someone can come up with concepts that can be lore-plausible and display a degree of believability, I am willing to accept it and RP out. I see the confines of lore as a medium of creativity and challenge for a writer, rather than holding back RP. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Anything in parentheses ((...)) are OOC for me. Everything else in /say or /emote are in-character, unless otherwise stated. III.
