Good mornings, Snake Girl! This boat has a large shipment of peaches aboard. Maybe if you visit me in Limsa Lominsa I can supply you with some peaches! Peaches are always a good excuse for travel as I am using them even now to get to Eorzea! You may call me Hideki alone if you so desire, or you can call me Okamoto. I do hail from the Far East but I am making my new home here in Eorzea. The Far East is not currently in the best situation as of late and I figured I could produce more peaceful writings in Eorzea. I will add that I am not a Lalafell just for future reference. While your name is not the most common of one I would normally hear. It does have its own appeal and the story makes it well worth using. Hopefully I can develop a story for why my name will be special someday. I can always dream at least. Ul'dah sounds interesting to say the least. I can understand how things that appear beautiful can also be some of the most deadly things there can be. But I suppose I would have to visit there on my own to know what you truly mean. Although I cannot see myself making the journey alone as the idea of this strange Cactuar raining needles upon me along the way does not sound desirable, I will definitely add it to my places to visit. Is there any other places in Eorzea you find particularly interesting? I know how the deserts of Ul'dah and port town of Limsa but I am fairly uneducated on the rest of the Eorzean geography. My list of places to visit is still rather short. Your poetry is very beautiful and I desire to hear more of it. Outside of Haiku I do not know how to make many other forms of Poetry and it was exciting to hear a poem unlike that of what I am accustomed to. Eorzea is truly very interesting. Please forgive me as the only way I can repay you is with more Haiku which is all I know. Salutations Snake Girl, You have a exotic name I must say. And I am sure it has an interesting story behind it as well. My name Okamoto means Hill Origin but it is no more special than that. It is exciting to hear that you make your living in an adventurers camp outside of Ul'dah. I hear Eorzea is a land with many adventurers and I ponder of what Eorzea defines as Adventure. I like to think I am adventuring to Eorzea! Although it is probably a drop in the ocean of an adventure compared to what you have experienced. What is Ul'dah like? My ship is headed to a port town called Limsa Lominsa, But I hear Ul'dah is big too. Sadly my ship cannot sail on sand so it may be some time before I can visit the place. What is the countryside like in Ul'dah? Where I hail from there are many trees and the land is fertile for peach growing. Your skill in poetry cannot possibly be worse than mine. So relax and I shall share with you some of my thoughts of the sea I travel. So umm... Is it possible for someone to have a darker/depressing past BUT still be an average joe in the now? With his imperfections and trying to get by in life through hard work like everyone else?... Also in response to disliking quiet characters who hang in the back corner with fascinating inner-dialogue. Isn't the reckless thrill seeking the perfect and unarguable excuse to starting up a conversation with these kinds of people? I mean it IS reckless right? And the thrill of potentially meeting an interesting back story might stir up the adventurous side of anyone if they are reckless enough. Although I do not think I could pull off a character like that. I think it would be interesting to see You all have some very good input. Thank you for your responses.

Sorry if I seem like I am posting a lot Q_Q I just have questions as I want to get to know what RPing on here is like. Anywho my question here is "What kind of character is most appealing to you? Likewise, what kind of character is LEAST appealing?" From my experience most people tend to enjoy more down to earth characters in normal settings with their own uniqueness. But nothing too dramatic. And seem to dislike overly dramatic top of the world characters and outrageous backstories. BUt everyone is different which is why I want to hear about your ideal player to RP with and unideal. I am sure it could help some new players get an idea for what kind of roleplay will get them the most player support and what to avoid (Like me :3)

I saw this mix a lot on reddit. Miqo'te/lalafell anyone? I feel like a roe/lala mix would make a really really buff roe midgit which would look absolutely hilarious. I am a big fan of half elves and kitty cats I wonder how elf/kitty would be? Or lawl, go further down the road and half elf/kitty. Although I know square would never let us do that.

Well I mean half elves exist for a reason. More exotic than humans/elves alone right? Oh geez! I just started thinking! If there were hybrid races implemented... How many races would there be? more than 12 I know...

I was just scrolling through reddit and heard about Lilisette who was a mix raced character in FFXI. I for a split second thought dreamed about SE implementing mixed races into FFXIV but I rather quickly realized how unlikely it is that that would ever happen. Too much work and they have no real reason to. Regardless! If this was a option (Let me dream) What would you roll or be interested in seeing? I imagine the offspring would be the same race as the mother with traits of the fathers race. So them other would be like the dominant race and the father the secondary in the offspring. (As I imagine it would be a little difficult for a lalafell F to have a roe baby otherwise.)

Hello! I have played FFXIV:ARR sense about a month after it came out. But because of School I had to take a very long leave. I have been very into RP on many others games but I decided that when I come back to FFXIV I want to try more RP as I find just regularly playing the game not nearly as fun as the experiences I have had RPing on World of Warcraft and LOTRO in the past. I have silently watched this forum in the past and researched the lore of this game and I think you guys and RP with you all on FFXIV would be awesome! <3 So please treat me kindly.

Hello! I am very very interested in RP in this game and have done lots of research. I love Final Fantasy games and I love Roleplaying as well and want to get into it on this game. But... I have this game but my account is unactive until my summer officially starts (I am taking Online classes which take higher priority.) Although I still find myself with lots of free time and I do not know how to spend it. So I wanted to get started in RPing on this game. First by asking if there are any roles I can fill in someones RP where we can make up for the fact that I can't physically roleplay over skype or on forums. (Although admittedly I have never forum RPed before.) Maybe I am someones cousin who lives far away overseas and we can only communicate by letter. (IE skype or forums.) Or maybe someone is taking time off exploring somewhere and I am a native and we do more in detail RP over forum/skype. ect. I am a little picky on what roles I will fill. I am a Male and prefer not to play girl characters. In previous RPs I do tend to get a bit hardcore into roleplaying so I would want to RP a lot with whoever I am RPing with. So I am a heavy RPer. I have found playing cocky, kid, innocent, and evil players more enjoyable but I can fill many roles if they sound interesting enough. An update on his backstory. I have decided he will be Garlean because I love playing Garlean characters. So no magic for me. But I do know my way around Garlean technology. I have also decided that my character is devotedly loyal to whoever pays him the most. So while he used to work for a Garlean host (Which resulted in his high education and ability.) after his host was killed by some adventurers he had no problem moving on and seeking out a new job within Eorzea. As long as you are paying him the most. He will be loyal enough to lick your shoes clean and let you sit on him. But becareful that you do not get bought out.
