Coming across the advertisements was no accident and Ashmira went straight to the place so aptly named: Dubious Distributions. Or was it Dubious Deliveries? She had been, admittedly, somewhat distracted when she heard it. But she didn't even reach halfway there when she saw a stand heaped with publications, two different advertisements staring out in garish, partially unclad glory. Plucking up both, she regarded them with a careful eye, first inspecting how the primping and preening she had performed on both female models had resulted. Jana looked much improved considering how very dismal the poor Miqo'te had seemed about her impromptu drafting. And Edda... well. She held both to the light for a better look, luminous eyes flicking between them but finally settling on the latter, setting the first down carefully so she would not crinkle it for others. She gingerly folded up the ad bearing fireworks and a red bikini, tucking it into her satchel. This one, she meant to keep. A sly grin toyed at her lips as she patted the pocket where it had been stowed.

I think this rather nicely encompasses Ashmira. RA_vxjTdw7A

Ashmira is definitely a Masala Chai Toddy. Spices and dark rum.

I feel like this is relevant to the predicament some people have now found themselves in... Jitocz4kB3k

Smash through to astrologian and then mindlessly dungeons and FATEs until 50. I'll slow the rush from 50-60, just to enjoy the leveling process and the world around me. I can't wait to see Heavensward zones.

Heavensward Ilevel Requirements. Strange Design Choice?
Wymsical replied to Xavieraux Reinardes's topic in FFXIV Discussion
That level of condescension actually wasn't what I had in mind. One of the major criticisms I've seen of XIV across most reviews or articles about it is that the game does very little hand-holding when it could stand to do more. It's no secret that a large amount of players don't really know even the basic meta of their class (examples: pets on Obey instead of Sic, WHM using Regen a lot more) and it's often considered a failing of the game. The feel I've gotten from the info on the new Jobs is that they do have some mechanics that would be difficult to understand if you're not very acquainted with the game. Imagine being a new player, you grab AST and suddenly all of your old skills are gone with a brand new lineup encompassing everything from 1-30, coupled with the RNG card mechanic and whatever else they have. You essentially have to relearn your entire Job right then at a level when the game is starting to ramp up its difficulty. It might not sound hard to someone who's been playing the game for a while (thus the emphasis on new players) but I've helped people brand new to the game before and they were often fairly overwhelmed with how complex XIV can be. I've actually seen a good few returning players complaining about them not starting at level 1 since the announcement, thus the comment. I'll agree that this game is very unfriendly to alts (I don't play them usually, so I forget about that). An account-wide 'MSQ done' thing wouldn't be a bad idea. -

I'm honestly a little surprised people seemed to have thought the new jobs were going to start at level 1 (or were hoping for it). SE's stated they didn't intend to add any new classes for the foreseeable future and all other jobs start at level 30. Having a job class that starts at level 1 would just throw the whole thing off. So at the very least, everything from now on will most likely be a Job that starts at level 30, even if they leave off the 'finishing the MSQ' part. I'm sure that's a frustration to some people but at this point it wouldn't make a lot of sense to change it. Additionally, to everyone who doesn't want to finish the MSQ... it's really not that hard or long, I promise. I did it from Leviathan to GRAND FINALE in about two nights as a DPS at ilevel 90; albeit skipping cutscenes and teleporting everywhere. Queues (as a DPS) and cutscenes take up the vast majority of the time doing the MSQ and Steps has been nerfed so heavily that my group of almost entirely new people finished it before the explosive crates. The concern about queues for old content is a valid one but given what has been said about adding gear and exp to the MSQ, I can't imagine they'll neglect making something to really encourage people doing the old queues. Additionally, there will always be people leveling new classes or new characters. With how the combat system works, people who 'hate' all of the old classes would almost assuredly have to level them at some point eventually with cross-class skills (and those will probably never go away) being such an important part of the basic endgame meta. Also, leveling WHM has taught me more about being an effective SCH and will almost assuredly lend to playing the rather complex-sounding AST, for example. The new Jobs honestly don't sound like they're something a new player would benefit from being able to immediately pick up. I understand that some of you really don't like the choices in the gameplay, but saying that it's inherently bad design and/or completely unfriendly to all new players is a bit much. Progression is a huge part of XIV and these three new Jobs are pretty clearly meant to be a sort of reward. -
"Racial diversity is pretty huge in Eorzea already, and part of the reason that racial tensions are generally low is that the culture is so heavily integrated." Wait, what? I think there's a lot of tension between races and cultures, like Gridania against Keepers, all the hate for Highlanders and Duskwight, and ect. For that reason, I think it's very plausible in-lore for lots of people to be very suspicious and xenophobic of Au Ra. If I had a non-Au Ra character, they'd definitely be uneasy.

Heavensward Ilevel Requirements. Strange Design Choice?

Just gonna leave this here... "First off, equipment rewards will be added to the Main Scenario quests. He didn’t go into too much detail here, but presumably this will help you reach the item level requirements for duties, if not bring you all the way there by itself. Second, so that you can do the required content without getting stuck in queues for an eternity (especially for dps classes), players new to a given duty will be placed in a priority queue. Basically, you can go straight to the front of the line so you can progress your quests quickly. Additionally, pre-50 main scenario quests will give double experience so you don’t have to do side content, and if you own Heavensward you’ll get experience from the 2.1-2.55 quests as well, so you can get a few levels before even entering Ishgard. And if you have friends or a helpful FC, they’re adding the ability to join with a partial group, bypass the duty finder, and not get level synced. (This part is actually from other articles) With this, if you really want to skip ahead even with the inprovements, you can just have a level 60 player rush you through the old content quickly. There are plenty of great FC’s out there that would help with this." http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/446/view/news/page/1/read/35086/Final-Fantasy-XIV-A-Realm-Reborn-YoshiP-Addresses-Content-Accessibility-Concerns.html]http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/446/view/news/page/1/read/35086/Final-Fantasy-XIV-A-Realm-Reborn-YoshiP-Addresses-Content-Accessibility-Concerns.html -
But I thought people didn't like skimpy armor! ... or wait, is it different when there's just... nothing on? ... yeah, I'll advocate for this.
