Adepts of Magitek is a new RP FC on Mateus. We're looking to be a medium-ish RP FC that's not afraid to content from time to time. Our theme, is obviously, Magitek: exploration and adventuring to find old magitek or inspiration for new magitek, while researching and developing new magitek. While this doesn't necessarily mean it will translate into tangible in game items, it sometimes may. And from time-to-time we may share the fruits of our innovations with the rest of the server (if we can). To that end, we are looking for RPers of all types. Your character doesn't need to be a huge worshiper or aficionado of magitek. They might not even know the difference between an Airship and a Rook Autoturret. We'll still welcome them! We'll need dumb muscle brave and intelligent adventurers to accompany and defend our expeditions and our holdings from enemies! We'll need healers to patch up the scientists and engineers when they "accidentally" hurt themselves during their totally safe expirements to ensure that our expeditions come home in one piece and those that are hurt are properly tended to. We'll need hospitality-minded individuals for when we host auctions, or other such gatherings. Our long term goals are to have RP events that revolve around pursuing leads on knowledge and technology. As time goes on, these expeditions may run across hostile elements, who seek our rightful tech for their own nefarious ends. We have a discord! A website may be coming if there is enough demand for it, but for now, just the Discord is fine. If you're interested in joining, or have any questions, please ask them here or look for me (Sakura Gardner) in game! I can't wait to meet you!

NA Adventurers! Looking for RP? New to RP? Welcome to Mateus!
Chapter Serf replied to M'naase Rahz's topic in RP Discussion
Is it active? Can't compare it to Balmung, but it's slow been picking up. Quicksand used to be empty, but now a handful of RPers hang out in the area. I've connected with most of the people I RP with via sending them /tells or digging around the forum or the RPM (Mateus RPing Discord). It's okay to check the Quicksands once in a while, but I wouldn't recommend that to be your only source in trying to look for new people to connect with. Mateus only has started gaining a lot of population due to Balmung being locked down so it's hard to say whether it's going to be the another unofficial RPing server like Balmung or if it'll be in the same situation as Gilgamesh (assuming what you mentioned is true. I've never been on Gilgamesh so I cant verify if it is true or not), but as long as Balmung continues to be locked, I think Mateus has the potential to be the next unofficial RPing server. I am one of the many people who transferred to Mateus due to various reasons and I'm enjoying my stays here. Yes, there are some things that are better on Balmung (cheap market price to be one of them), but for me, the pros is far more greater than the cons. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me more questions The Gilgamesh stuff stems from just a hypothesis that, with Gilgamesh housing some of the more successful, noteworthy, accomplished and celebrated raiders, you get a lot of trash there. Idiots, who for whatever reason, thought that harassing RPers would endear them in the eyes of big-name raiders like Death and Taxes, or otherwise serve to stoke their epeens, thus ultimately driving the RPers to Balmung, leaving no RP on Gilgamesh whatsoever. Mateus is not Gilgamesh when it comes to raiding. -
NA Adventurers! Looking for RP? New to RP? Welcome to Mateus!
Chapter Serf replied to M'naase Rahz's topic in RP Discussion
Hey everyone, I may (nothing for certain) jumping ship to Mateus. I am curious as to how active and potentially stable the RPing is. Does it seem like it could remain steady for years and be like Balmung? Or does it seem like it could go the way of Gilgamesh and just end up merging back into Balmung before long? (Or maybe my hypothesis about Gilgamesh is right and there isn't an issue about that...) Is it active? Can I walk into frequented Balmung RP places on Mateus and find RP? Or is it more hidden from public? Not trying to crush dreams or anything. Just want to know the validity of switching RP servers. -

It just so happens that I'd be vacating a small Goblet house if I succeeded! -
Looking for a Soon to be Vacated Small House in Mist
Chapter Serf posted a topic in FFXIV Discussion
Hello fellow RPers! I am looking for either a person or an FC who has a small house in Mist and is ready to bolt for Shirogane (or anywhere else) as soon as they can when the next round of housing (likely Shirogane) comes out. All I'm looking for is the house plot, that I can camp out in front of and pray that you get in during the bedlam that will undoubtedly follow the release of the new housing so I can claim your vacated plot as my own. This is of course provided that what I've heard is hopefully going to happen turns out to be true about moving a house. That being that if you have an existing house and buy a new plot, all the furnishings will move to exactly where they were (if you buy a same-sized house) or are placed in storage (if you buy a different sized house). Please contact me either here or in game (Sakura Gardner) if you're looking to bolt from your small Mist plot for Eastern Pastures. -
Normally I sleep or play something else or write. But right now? I am getting myself ready. Because:

How do you all look at those two prefixes? When you see someone open to "Mature RP" or "Dark RP" what do you interpret that as? For me there isn't any difference. But this is talking entirely in an 8x8 cell. And when I go out of that bubble, I start to differentiate. For me, Dark RP is anything grim or R-Rated. Violence, torture, war, etc. But I don't exactly exclude "NC-17" from the list either. It's just a part of the list. I usually these days consider "Mature RP" to not have much difference from "ERP" except "ERP" may just be "ERP for ERP's sake" while Mature may still have a reason for the ERP.

Is your character open for killing/death? What about injury?
Chapter Serf replied to LadyRochester's topic in RP Discussion
Injury, absolutely. Either physical or emotional it just depends on the story and where it's going. If my character needs to be the victim of a no holds barred beatdown for the good of the RP, sure. Death though? Not usually. Just because my story finishes, doesn't mean I can't start another one or jump into another one. Death is too finite. Unless I thought that there was nowhere else I could go with my character, I would avoid death like the plague. Besides, I'd then have to spend money on a name change and Fantasia which I'm not all that keen on. -
I know this isn't exactly something people will line up for, but I figured I might as well try. I'm looking for a good antagonist/villain. What am I looking for? Someone greedily and obnoxiously rich, stuck-up assholish nobility, or someone with some sort of power/sway (IE: Pirate captain, merc lord, etc.) (or a combination!) IC. Preferably Hyur or Elezen (will consider other races though). A few goons never hurt anyone (save for an unfortunate hero). Someone who is nice OOCly (I'll talk to people I know to find out your OOC reputation). Someone who has more than a little reputation ICly. Someone who is willing to go pretty damn Dark/Mature (if Mature still indeed means that these days) if need be IC. Be willing to work together for a hopefully long and non-lethal storyline, but by no means non-violent. Gender doesn't matter. If you're interested, or know someone who might be interested, please leave a reply here, send me a PM here or hunt me down in game. Thanks! Edit: I'm Eastern Time, so that probably matters for something...

Talk about marketing bombardment...:dazed: Can I meet with you all in game so I can ask questions and find out more?

Kind of a hybrid. Where the individual stories connect up to form an overarching metaplot. But I would want to lean heavier towards the FC-centric plot.
-
Hmm... I suppose I'm looking for an established FC: steady, stable, good hierarchy, etc. Probably no more than a several dozen members. As for IC concerns, nothing too rigid, I suppose. Dunno if that helps, I'll be honest.

Hey all, I'm looking for an RP FC. A friend of mine recommended I look for a smaller, more close-knit one, so I'll try that. Any leads? Thanks!
-
And end up there. You know, over there? ... OK, in all seriousness here's what I'm looking to start with and I'm what I'm looking to eventually move to: I'm looking to start off with an evil/more than a little less reputable organization, and at some point "grow a conscience", and betray this organization to a more reputable one, thus making a few good RP enemies (because you need those as much, if not more, than you need friends in my opinion) in the process. A few rules about me: I don't mind E/M (whatever it's called these days...) RP if it has a purpose (just keep it on the low-down). FCs, for me, are for raiding. If you don't mind me adding key people in your FC as friends and us calling it good to go, that's fine. If you require membership in your FC, we may have a problem. Raiding first, RPing later. I like RPing, but it will not take precedence over raiding. If Raiding somehow got to the point that I could RP while doing it, whee! Linkshells are fine. We have 8 them, might as well use them, right? If you're interested in trying to get something started with me, then please either leave a reply here, or for a better chance of actually getting reply back from, just look me up in game (Robin Hiigara). Hope to hear from some folks soon!

Or something to that effect. Yet, none of you ever walk up. You're all welcome to being walked up to, yet not to walking up? And I'm not just referring to myself in this instance. I see a lot of people always standing around, willing to be walked up to but not willing to walk up. Why?? It completely boggles my mind... :dazed:

I'm about to transfer to Balmung but I've got a slight problem (aside from no home waiting for me but I can deal with that in the coming days)... I have over 2,000,000 gil which I can't hold on to and have no plans on losing. What are some hot commodities on Balmung that I can get on my current server and turn into some good cold hard cash once I get over to Balmung.

Hi everybody! I'm looking for some Raiding and RPing friends (note the order) for FCoB and beyond. I'm not looking for just an FCoB static, though. I'm looking for a home to clear FCoB and 3.0 and beyond. I don't want something that's going to fall apart the second the t13 boss eats dirt. I have T10 Experience. I'm currently an ilvl 116 SMN on Balmung, but am willing to transfer if need be. Here's my character: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/3950898/ My time preference is eastern time evenings for raiding and VoIP isn't an issue. For RPing, anytime I'm online. Please drop a line here (or fire me a tell if you're on Balmung as well). As I said before, Server (and by extension, FC) are non-issues.

Really? No one here is on Diabolos? That makes me very sad.

Hi people. I like to roleplay from time to time, and with things settling down in the game (IE: Run the Daily Roulette, do the dailies, do the daily crafting timers, do other crafting if it's not Coil day), I have some time on my hands so I decided to pick up an old hobby of mine. I play on Diabolos for the record. And yes, the comment in my signature applies: If I show up to an RP session dressed like Lightning, you have my permission to reach through your monitor and punch me in the face.
