  1. Klarimel Surtshtalsyn Large weapons / Intimidation Willing to Mentor Almost two decades of field experience as a brigand While obviously not Siobhain's first choice to teach anyone anything, I could see him being saddled with trainees that are too aggressive/dickish for normal teaching methods.
  2. I'm 27. Just got out of a six year stint in the US Navy. I've been playing tabletop RPG's for as long as I can remember and started MMO's with the Kunark expansion of Everquest. I'm pleasantly surprised at the median age of this community, seems we've got a large pool of experience to draw from.
  3. My Hellsguard, Klarimel, is a brigand, thief, con man, and a tremendous jerk. In his early 30's, he still acts like a bully, happily taking what he wants from those who can't stop him and trying to assert his dominance over the people he meets. Self-assured and confident, he stays cool under pressure and is more than willing to run away when the odds are against him. Basically he's a huge douchebag and few characters will actually enjoy his company, but I find his type helps generate entertaining RP for the players. Hope to see ya'll in game.
  4. South Sea Iced Tea A chilled black tea favored in the warm climates bordering the southern seas, this sweet beverage can bring a smile to the most unsavory sailor. Thanalan Tea Leaves Maple Sugar Powdered Sugar Sun Lemon Galago Mint Brew the tea leaves in a large, closed container and leave in the sun for 3-4 bells. Chill container by having Ice cast on it, then add the sugars. Stir heavily. Add sun lemon and mint for flavor as desired. Enjoy!
  5. Klar would drop a bill for the privilege of fighting him.
  6. Welcome ... to Jurassic Park.
  7. Klarimel has the assets of his now deceased brigand group to work with. This combines up to a fairly high amount of wealth, though it's mostly in goods and not currency.
  8. The world needs more Roeg's. Welcome.
  9. Pepper Cottonmouth I don't want a girl's name
  10. I'll show up if I am in a position to play in open beta.
  11. Why even hold an event? Just give Klar the title and move on with your lives.
  12. Nothing wrong with being a Tennessean. (As long as you're not from Memphis.)(Or Knoxville.)
  13. Making it around 4PM EST would help out people on Yuro time like me. Thanks for your consideration.
  14. I'd be down for nearly anything. Skype name is duplicitousrex
  15. Always nice to see new blood on the RP scene. It can be kind of awkward in the beginning so don't get discouraged. We were all in your shoes at some point so help is never too far away. Welcome to the RPC.
  16. Only thing I can really say is that it could stand to be a bit more organized. Other than that it wasn't bad for a pilot.
  17. The site is still in a bit of a lull since Beta hasn't started yet. Things will pick up soon and you're always invited to start relevant topics. Welcome.
  18. I. Basic Info Characters: Klarimel Surtsthalsyn Primary character: Klarimel Surtsthalsyn Linkshells: Undecided Primary RP linkshell: Undecided II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-Heavy. I'm very open to RP at nearly any time, though time must be spent playing the game itself, of course. Though combining the two in RP parties can be very entertaining. Views on RP combat and injuries: RP combat can be tricky to do well. Both parties need to be mature and have a set outcome in mind that reaches goals for both characters. I've always found that you get much more character development out of losing a fight than winning one. Injuries have to be taken on a case by case basis, but if the story is good enough I'm up for nearly anything. Views on IC romance: IC romance is bound to happen. As long as you can keep IC relationships separate from OOC relationships, then it's good motivation. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): These sorts of relationships can be very worthwhile if both people play often enough and stick with the game. The only times this goes wrong is when one player leaves the game early, which creates a situation where you have to figure out how to write a character other than your own out. Views on lore: Lore is very important, as it's the backstory every character shares. It's what we all have in common. So the more we can learn about the world as a whole, the easier it is to set up reasons to RP with strangers. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): The way I've always done it is use normal text for RP, and use (( )) to denote OOC, so all channels can be used for either type of discussion. III. Other Info Country: USA, though currently in Italy Timezone: Currently GMT+1 Contact info: PM's are preferred
  19. I'm down for this. It takes a couple sessions to get a good feel for how a character wants to be played, so pre gaming is always welcome. Though my schedule is atrocious right now.
  20. Well, EQ is one of the grandaddies of the MMO genre, which didn't really take off until WoW. Also EQ was a terribly difficult game with very few of the features most players today take for granted, such as maps and being able to see in the dark. But back then I didn't know any better and happily fetched my body back from the depths of hell naked. FFXI orignally appealed to me because it was similar to EQ in it's combat and levelling, but more refined and with infinitely better graphics. Also chocobos.
  21. This was over a decade ago so I can't remember. I quit EQ in '03 to play FFXI. I started right after the Ruins of Kunark expansion came out. Had a Dark Elf Shadowknight and grinded through that hell of a world with some friends from high school.
  22. Not bad at all. I might have to get something commissioned in the future.
