1. This is really cool, I'll be there to show my support or possibly act as a guiding role when helping out with the newcomers. Thanks for putting this together, sad I missed it during beta.
2. It is yes. Hope you can make it!!
3. I like the idea of a variety of races. Meaning A LOT of races. We all ready have quite a few races, what's ten more? It just means more diversity and more content for the devs to pump out and make us happy with. As long as it ties in with the lore (and let's face it, FF lore is easily bendable with wormholes and the like) then the game should sail smoothly into the sunset... On a chocobo... With a glass of lemonade and a raspberry tart.. *Feels her unicorn trip over a bulging stone protruding from the road, waking her from her daydream.* Oh! So Viera or Dragon, Reptilian or Rat person. I want them all! :bouncy:

Hey All

Welcome! Glad to see you've stopped lurking and I hope to see you around. Lots of great resources on this site to get you headed in whichever direction you're thinking of going. :moogle: I primarily forum roleplay within some other guilds I'm involved with outside of FFXIV: ARR, so I completely understand going from forums to in-game roleplaying - I always feel like I'm the "slow" poster. (Though I'd just like to think thoughtful... haha) Anyways welcome again and if you need anything holler.
5. Maybe it's just our Subway but you know the plastic plate/bowl things with covers you get for salads? They sell like 10 cookies or something like that in those and put them out for customers to buy. Whenever they have the triple chocolate or the white macadamia nut ones I always get them. Sometimes them mixed too so honestly, if you just ask I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige.

Hello :)

White Mage for the wiiiiiin! 8-) Welcome!!

Hi hi!

Welcome!! I loved PSO but I probably haven't played it as much as you have. If you're looking toward a healing/support class there's always Conj, Whm, Bard.. Pugilist > Monk even maybe? I'm not entirely sure on the Monk skills. I'll be rolling as a Conj/Whm and I've really liked playing them in the betas. To me they're the ultimate healing class/job. Take care and hope you find everything you're looking for here! :moogle:
8. Our new Gilgamesh Ventrilo server information can be found here: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3504 , however thank you all SO much for offering. If you're in a guild and have your own Vent, you're more than welcome on some nights to hop everyone over to the Gilgamesh Vent to get to know some of the other members of the community, we'd love to have you all visit now and then! Perhaps we should arrange Gilgamesh Community Nights where several guilds all come together to hang out. Just an idea. Let me know what you guys think.
9. Welcome!! City of Heroes was such a great game, I've still got the icon on my desktop. RIP. You mentioned being interested in writing, and I wonder would you have interest in joining us on Skype for the GEOC "Gilgamesh Event Organizers Committee" we could really use another person with a passion for storytelling. Anyways, happy to see you around. I'll leave you with one last thing: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3504
10. Poe has been kind enough to give us our own Vent server so that we can all stay in better touch, as we all know Skype can be a bit finicky. This Vent server will be used as a meeting hub for before and after the game launches. If you've never used Vent before, it's a VOIP program. It's generally used by gamers to communicate vocally. Trying to find a group of people to RP or PvE with? Hop on our Vent! Or if you just want to hang out, come join us anyways, of course this invitation is extended to any Balmung-Gilgamesh goers as well. Ventrilo server capacity is currently set at 25, if we run into an issue where we can't fit everyone on we'll add more slots. If you've all ready got Vent downloaded, great! If you don't please click the link below: http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php Setting up your Vent is the next step in this process, if you've never done it before it can be sort of overwhelming at first but don't worry we'll be there to help. On the right hand side of your Ventrilo there's a "Setup" button. Make sure your input/output devices are selected, and don't forget to bind your Push-To-Talk key! Now then, you've got Ventrilo downloaded and it's all ready to go? Fantastic! Here's the server information: IP: cadmium.typefrag.com Port - 7065 Password - Moogle One last note: Please try to use your forum or character name! Thank you.
11. Thank youu! I love faces. She was my first attempt at curled hair.
12. I really love your choice of color that you use, and you have a very unique style. I like it!
13. So I've been doing a lot more work, trying to do things outside of FFXIV and go a more realistic route, working with stock photos from DeviantArt. I'll list these next pieces in order from oldest to newest. So here are a lot of pieces I've done for people in Legend Gaming's Acheron chapter for World of Darkness Online: My Toreador for WoDO: An Albino woman, clan Ventrue. This is a photo I did for my fiance's Malkavian character, the writing on the wall is actually from a short story he wrote: Last but not least, this I submitted for an art contest:
14. Depending on when this is I'd like to come with my other character I'll have on Balmung, I'm thinking they'll be a cook so maybe I can bring some goodies! We'll see anyways, but good luck with all of this. Ohoh - idea - perhaps you could raffle something off? One item in particular or something, the pinnacle of the evening sort of thing and one (or a few) person(s) go home extremely happy.
15. You mean you actually spoke in the end? Why did I go to bed? Did you sounds like Barry White like we thought you would? Anyhow, cheers for typing that up. With regards to the Skype issue, I found the classic "turn it on and off again" worked for me, but I would be in support of something like Vent. Wayward Star (which is a multigame guild, Pirates of a Wayward Star is affiliated with) has a Vent server, I don't know if it's still running, I suppose I could ask Matt (who runs it) if we've still got one and if we can add a few FFXIV channels (I've not used it for a while). We used to hold Guild meetings on Vent and we never experienced problems. I love Vent, please please ask them? For now we're using Rhen's and his friends Mumble which can hold around 35 people but that may not always hold us. It should be good for a while though, so don't worry about it if it's going to be a bother.
16. Yes! I will suggest this when I happen to be posting on welcome topics and people are debating which server to go to, very good to see stuff like this happening.
17. @Draheim, last night in our Gilgamesh server meeting, we discussed ways to help promote Gilgamesh but the trouble we run into is everyone inherently thinks "Saying something good about Gilgamesh, and that it will be a different experience from Balmung, is like saying Balmung is no good." We've been over this so many times that it gets almost frustrating on my part, as someone who has friends both on Balmung and on Gilgamesh, because I want both places to be a success. Tearing apart someones wording, when they're trying to do their best to make Gilgamesh a success while simultaneously being flamed for the words they're trying to use carefully, seems like in and of itself is just getting to the point of bullying. Is Gilgamesh supposed to just say "We're the secondary RP server. If you don't like Balmung come here." No, because a lot of us actually want to see both servers succeed, and at this point YES Gilgamesh does need more help than Balmung to get going. You can't blame anyone for trying to get the word out that there will be roleplay on Gilgamesh. The point of promoting Gilgamesh isn't to exclude anyone, especially Balmung. You guys have the majority of the roleplayers, how can you get upset about one person posting a thread where they are ripped apart for their wording when they're trying their best not to antagonize anyone. Gilgamesh is the "new" server, saying it's not is just a lie. We all know Balmung is the old or the Primary RP server, no one has ever discounted that. All I see lately is a bunch of bullying, picking apart anything anyone says about anything server related, especially when god forbid Gilgamesh wants to try to pick up their numbers or encourage the people who will be playing on Gilgamesh to actually roleplay with us (Reddit users included). We're being as INCLUSIVE as possible, yes you can pick apart anything anyone says on the internet, does that make it right? No. I just want us all to get along, if you can't handle Gilgamesh trying to grow in number, are you really being a great community member? Don't we want both communities to succeed? If so, what's the problem? This is actually the first "rant" I've had, so excuse me but I feel like a lot has been left unsaid and I feel like the general bullying and picking everything on the forums apart has just reached an all time high after we just had a meeting to address nearly all of the issues people still seem to be flinging about. I love this community Balmung AND Gilgamesh, I love the mods, I love our members, a lot of you are actually trying to help Gilgamesh, putting your feelings aside about the community going two ways and I sincerely appreciate it. Let's have constructive criticism from now on, and not pick on people for how they might word something. Text can lose a lot of context, so just try to remember that folks.
18. It will go as long as there are people there and I should be there all night given I don't have unexpected company or something. Look forward to seeing you there, Poe!
19. It was a ridiculously productive night and I'm glad I coerced you into writing up our notes because I honestly couldn't have said it better myself, Yeldir. We're really looking forward to our next meeting and hope this answers a lot of questions and can hopefully be referenced by other RPC users whether they're from Balmung or Gilgamesh as to our progress on some of the issues we've been faced with and have been working out! Here's to a hopeful and peaceful future. :moogle:
20. I'm all ready with my spreadsheet! 8-)
21. Woot woot awesome! Can't wait to see you all there. I will personally (hopefully) be bringing some clothing items to give away! Granted enough time is given for me to level my weaving so stay tuned for that!
22. Since we've pushed back the date for the Eorzean Bounty Board event to allow more time for people to level to get through some of the more grizzly areas of the Aetherytes as well as in general make it so that more people can attend, we've decided to host a newer and more relaxed event for Open Beta which we hope everyone attends and enjoys!! There should hopefully be enough dancing, booze, and entertainment to last well into the last hours of Open Beta!! See you there. 23. Love this, yay! :moogle:
24. I played the beta, release, and around 3-5 months of the game after that. I started as pugilist but then made a new character who specialized in weaving/gathering/goldsmithing and I enjoyed that a lot more.
