  1. No word yet. I'm about to keel over.
  2. There will be lots of great people on both servers. Being someone from Gilgamesh that's heard a lot about the grief made over "reddit, 4channers", etc, I feel that this hasn't hindered us from going to Gilgamesh in the slightest. Sure, a couple members have felt antsy or like maybe it would be best to go to a new server, but at this point a lot of us are pretty relaxed about going to Gilgamesh. No matter which way you look at it, there will be trolls on any server. It's how you deal with it and compose yourself afterwards that counts. Luckily there's a /ignore feature, and maybe even report though I'm not sure on that one for sure. Other than that 4chan and Reddit people are not all going to play on one server, just because one person from the community has a lot of friends going there and advertised that people should go there. When you come down to it it's a pay to play game and people will play on the servers where their friends play. Also remember there's going to be all different kinds of housing, and that the world is big enough for everybody so don't let it discourage you from one place or another, as I said, there's going to be all sorts of great people on both servers.
  3. I know from my standpoint that's exactly where I'm at, and if you're looking for someone to do content progression with IE Dungeons, I'd be more than happy to heal the crap out of your party. Other than gaming I like roleplay, but at heart I'm pretty competitive and don't really like RPing through dungeons (bad past experiences) so know you'll find at least a few people who just like "getting the job done" so to speak. Though Akki may be able to elaborate on behalf of the Silver Anvil as a whole. ^^
  4. To me it just seems like everyone needs a bit more patience. It's a virtue, you know. Not to bring up another game but when Guild Wars 2 came out, Jade Quarry (server) was locked out most of the time, until finally that next morning I had a chance to pop in. The server evened out and we were able to get our whole guild (a whopping 40-50 people) in within the next couple days - and this was on one of the largest servers, which had SEVERAL communities of people similar to Reddit that people wanted to avoid, but roleplay still happened there and still does so it really didn't stop anyone from enjoying anything. I have a feeling between Open Beta, Headstart, and release there will be AMPLE opportunity to get your character into the server he/she is wanting to be on. A little patience can go a long way. Most games have a day or two where servers fluxuate, I'm sure everyone will be able to get to where they want to be.
  5. There are plenty of us still planning to play on Gilgamesh so why not stick around? We have events planned and everything, it's not as if there won't be RP there. If someone is being a douche bag, then put them on ignore. As for "bleeding people left and right", as far as I can tell the Gilgamesh directory has grown significantly. I'm not the type of person to just walk away from a server because I think people there might not like me or my friends roleplaying. If that were the case no one would roleplay ever. Real talk. If you want to roleplay with some cool people on Gilgamesh they will be there. If you want to roleplay with some cool people on Balmung, they will be there. See how the pieces fall after release, and just stick to the plan. Getting cold feet on your wedding day is just embarrassing.
  6. >> ... Noticing one of your previous posts - Pugilists are actually really fun! I plan to have one as an alt and tried it during beta.
  7. Welcome! The intro to your first post on this thread had me almost speechless, really set the mood. (I'm assuming you wrote it of course). Looks like we have some great writers here on the RPC. ^^
  8. Another Lalafel. I just love seeing them come out of the woodwork. <3 Oh right. Welcome welcome!! You know I wouldn't call yourself old, more like experienced? You can probably out-game the rest of us haha As for linkshells it seems people have pointed you in the right direction, so welcome and enjoy your stay!

    hello.

Welcome! You said you used to do lots of forum/chat based roleplay. Any of it VTM/or WoD sort of RP? Or maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about in which case, nothing to see here! As far as roleplay goes feel free to make topics if you need help or just message or post here if you have any questions. There are plenty of people willing to help if you tell us what you need and lots of lore on the forums for ARR. :moogle:
  10. Welcome! I really like the name you've chosen for your Seeker. Once your girlfriend sees how amazing the game is maybe she'll want to play? Anyways hope to see you around and enjoy your stay!

    Hi. :)

Welcome!! I'm glad you got to play the game early on so you got to find out what you would have been missing out on if you had decided to wait to play it!! Anyways as for servers, don't worry about it right away until you get a chance to try both out a little and see how they feel. I'll be primarily on Gilgamesh but hope to RP plenty with people on Balmung on an alt. Besides, there will likely be character server transferring after release so if you decide you like one more than the other you'll probably be able to switch. Hope that helped and that you find stalking the forums a bit more inviting! <3 We don't bite.. mostly. *Picks something out of her teeth.* >>
  12. Welcome! I played 1.0 (though I am not legacy status) and I agree with how painful it was to level in the beginning. It's mostly why I ended up staying as a crafter which I really enjoyed. But now with how the landscape and areas are set up in ARR and how amazing the emotes are, I can only imagine how much better the roleplay is going to be so I can't wait! I think you and a ton of people will be joyously surprised. Here's to hoping anyways. Welcome again and enjoy your stay. ^^

    Hello there!

Welcome! I hope you're able to find other players from Moogle. You never know who strolls through here but I know I've seen plenty of EU members post in the welcome section in the past. Well you have dogs and I have a kitty, she turns 4 this year but I do hope we can get a dog one day. (Our apartment currently only allows one pet). Anyways, I couldn't avoid talking about animals. I hope you enjoy your time here. :moogle:
  14. Welcome Alex! Glad to have you here. I was also raised on Disney movies! Hurrah! Though I think my favorite has got to be Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

    Hello

Welcome! I hope you find everything you're looking for here. I feel you on the front of being primarily a forum-roleplayer. It's what I have spent most of my time doing and do find MMO RP can be a bit more fast paced than I usually enjoy. On the other hand FFXIV: ARR is so amazing when it comes to knowing how to set the ambiance for roleplay in-game for sure!
  17. Welcome welcome!! (Yay a Lalafel!) Wanted to mention I am so sad CoH/V is no longer around. You'll be happy to know I never deleted the icon from my desktop! Hah!
  18. Welcome! ^^ There are plenty of resources here on the RPC forums to get you acquainted with roleplay and the lore of FFXIV: ARR. Lovely to have you!!!
  19. Welcome!! If you need any help roleplay wise feel free to message me or well anyone really as I'm sure we'd all be willing to help if you're looking for guidance on that front. Anyways, welcome again and gahhh I can't wait to play!! See you in game!
  20. Welcome welcome, to the RPC! Where you can spread your chocobo wings and be freeeeeee! *Sings.* Well ok that was terrible. Welcome anyways! Have another chocobo: :chocobo:
  21. Welcome! I hope you choose to purchase the game so you get to experience how great it is with us!! No pressure haha
  22. Welcome to the RPC, Exelance!
  23. An update on the Gilgamesh Event Organizers Committee: So far we have THREE events in the works! That's right! One is planned for the last day of Open Beta - the first Eorzean Bounty Board wanted poster will soon be posted! I overheard the stablehand over there talking about some rare Chocobo getting loose from the stables! Ahem, back to business. The second event, Sunday, September 1st is being spear-headed by our fearless leader Rock Sandbourne. The last post-launch event will remain a secret for now but keep your ears and eyes peeled for tracks in the mud and the sound of a stampede in the distance! :chocobo: All of these events will have digital graphics supplied for them for posting on our forum event topics, all supplied by artists within the GEOC! *A quick round of applause.* Things are coming along beautifully for this community and I can't wait to see the rest of you in game, we have a lot of fun stuff planned and more to come! Remember if you're interested in participating in the GEOC just feel free to send me a message and I'll get you invited to the Skype chat! So far we've made lots of friends and put together some great stuff. Any and all input is welcome! Your's truly, Luluni Luni :moogle:
