    Lots of changes. As a consequence of IC events and a couple OOC evolutions regarding our general direction, the shell has basically been recreated and is beginning a new life. Quick highlights: - New name. - New URL and website. - Heavy roleplay orientation. - Headquarters playing a heavy part in the linkshell activities and storyline.   5. I support this. Essentially, what Kylin said. I'll add that as this event is aimed to promote interactions within the whole community, I'm in favor of setting it up during weekends (timezones, etc.).

  8. After five minutes spent reviewing the different guildleve cards lying on the counter, Shara finally made up her mind. She took three other minutes to whisper a few things on a pearl, before announcing to Totonawa with a finger showing the chosen card: - I'll take this one, and an acquaintance of mine is coming to get another card for this leve as well.
  9. I chose the more content options as well. I'm a bit worried about that last question and I'm wondering how far they they could go overhauling the game. IMO the game only needs (lots of) fine-tuning now, the basis is already there and has a lot of potential.

  13. I also think it would be easier to go for the epic first, maybe, as Magnus said, sort of a prelude to see how things go. When the game and the community are in better shape, then we'll have all we need to chew the real meat :moogle:

    I wouldn't bet any gil on that, I think they are talking about old regular 'sea' ships. Airships in early 2011 and not even the slightest pawprint of any chocobo on the ground yet? I'm not buying that. Back on topic, it is indeed a very smart move from SE and I find this, as well as the recent extensive update details they provided, a very good sign of their good will.

  18. In reply to the same quote above, I'd just like to add that I think that what really makes the quality of a community depends of the people who are part of that community. While I acknowledge that some people will prefer soloing 100% of their playtime for whatever reason, it seems to me that the majority of MMORPG players care about the MMO aspect and will naturally make friends and share game content with them. Forcing them to group with random people, when their friends are not available, that might very well end up being jerks to achieve this or that will not help forging a better community, quite the contrary I would say. What I am sure of is that I will never be forced in XIV to bite my tongue and bear with jerks to get those last exp points granting me a level up, because if I ever run into jerks when I want to group, I can just press the eject button, finish my level solo and actually have a good time.

It depends of the players I am with. I tend to match the RP style of my current fellows and I feel at ease with any style. --Are you willing to RP a fight scene in game? If so, preferred method of combat? (/randoming, skill based, etc) I canât say I like this way of handling fights. Iâd rather leave fighting scenes to the game mechanics. Of course this is not possible in FFXIV, so if it is really important for the scene to fight, Iâll deal with it, taking into account character skills. But Iâll avoid that as much as possible. --Are you willing to take major injuries in game? (ie limb loss, comas, etc.) Permanent major physical injuries, no. Coma and other mental traumas, why not. --Under what circumstances, if any, would you allow your character to be killed off? None. I wouldn't mind in a pen & paper but I'm putting far too much of my free time in MMO characters (and not only regarding game aspects) to let them go poof for the beauty of RP. I might think about it if I decide to leave the game (which should not happen any soon). --Are you willing to RP romance in game? How far are you willing to go? If not just for the sake of an RP romance and if my character happens to actually fall in love with another, definitely. As for how far I'm willing to go, it's up to my character to decide, not me Regarding ERP, I don't mind some from time to time, up to a certain point (read: keep it decent and poetic). --What kind of non-romantic RP relationships are you seeking? (family ties, etc) Any kind, except family (background reasons). --How far from the actual lore are you willing to stray? I try to stick with the lore as much as possible and I simply ignore anything around my character going against it. --Views on chat functions (IC vs OOC in /party, /linkshell, /say)? I generally talk IC in /say and OOC in /tell or /party, but it depends of who I am with and the situation (i.e. if my character needs to whisper something to someone, I'll use /tell). In the end, I donât care as long as everyone else is happy with how IC / OOC is handled. --Will most of your RP be confined in a single linkshell or will you try to RP with as many as possible? Anyone who initiates an RP contact with me, anytime, anywhere, will get an RP reaction. I wonât, however, systematically initiate contact with other roleplayers, particularly if my character doesnât know them (which is logical). --How do you prefer to be contacted?
