Hello! I know this is normally for introducing yourself, but as I am returning from a long hiatus, and I really wasn't public all that much previously, I figure why not? After a 6 or so month hiatus, I return ...probably longer, I have a feeling longer but I'm horrible at time. I am no longer seeking to get my old Free Company off the ground, and instead settling on meeting new faces, getting more out there, and generally being a more friendly person. Though can't promise for Vatt. I'm currently doing a lot of actual levelling and things right now, but don't be afraid to hit me up in game. I try to be open to people. And I really need to make more friends. But yes, hello again, I'm back!

Here's a Vatt and Nilo, sometimes he's just a bit too busy for her to get his attention, but they spend most of their time together.

balmung Friendly-ish fun seeker looking for contacts and active RP.

Yeah, sorry, I'm a very anxious person and I don't like feeling that I am interrupting. I've been trying to get over myself for ages, it's a slow process, but I'm opening up a bit. Though I have to thank you for the tips, some of them I hadn't thought about, such as the mistaken identity, which, actually would be something I could totally see Vatt doing. -
I came back for 2.4 the hype, the hype is real.

Once servers are back up, I'd be happy to join this LS. A lot of my time will be spent levelling after patch, but I need more RP contacts, so hit me up please. X'vatt Tia

Okay, I suck at walk-up RP, or judging which Rpers are open for it. And apparently my fishing attempts have devolved into standing around an inn, making posts occasionally to let people know I'm there, and then wandering off after about a half hour when no one responds, so, I figure this may help a bit. I don't normally like to schedule RP, so I won't, however, if anyone would be interested in RPing with someone on the shady side of things, though plenty friendly enough, most he would try to do is sell you some of his wares, let me know. I need RP contacts, as I'm not doing so well at getting myself out there in the world. And no, this is not begging, this is me judging who might be interested in RPing. I've been away from the game for a while, and have lost a lot of my old connections, and wish to expand out. Thank you for your time, and consideration. Please leave character names as well. Thank you ^.^.

New picture of X'vatt after my couple month break from FFXIV.

-Have been chased by an angry goose around a local zoo then proceeded to run to the car and have the goose knock itself out on the slammed door at the age of six. -Was an aspiring programmer until I near completed my first year of college and decided that I liked it as a hobby, definitely not a career choice. -Currently am part of a small independent tabletop gaming company that has yet to get a product out there due to our 'Lead Developer' who cannot finish ideas he has. (Though I cannot blame him, I have issues finishing what I start when it comes to things not being work) -Was put in special education as a child, not due to learning too slowly for my class, but rather because I was more advanced and they hadn't the programs available to keep up with my reading or math level.

Ok I personally think that this is a great idea and I will also grant you my help because I have been wanting to do the same thing. Ill be online Friday, but I have to make a new character. By annoying sister keeps depleting my characters. Awesome, I've done a bit of recruitment, and actually have the start of a site up. (start as in newly created and still needs a LOT of editing.) Pop by there http://vattsemporium.enjin.com/ or whisper me in game on X'vatt Tia

Through the lens of downfall can one see true happiness, and in times great sorrow. It would seem that way, at least to X'vatt, a Seeker of the Sun of the Lynx tribe, born to a Tia. Found unworthy at birth he was lucky to be alive. And so, he and his father, were exiled. Vatt, as he likes to be called, vowed to make a name for himself, and so began his path in life. The Miqo'te quickly learned of hardship when his father grew ill and starved in order to keep his son healthy, so he could work and become strong. Noticing there was far too many starving, and too few with a roof over their heads, the young miqo'te quickly made up his mind, and after an adolescence of trouble making, he stepped on what he believed to be the right path. Today Vatt is the owner of Vatt's Emporium, a collective of merchants and workers devoted to making sure that you pay the lowest price for your custom orders. Such good deals that they're almost a steal. Started recently, this Free Company was inspired by simply the act of making trouble, even in a more subtle light. A merchant's guild with an ulterior motive, the plan is to stir up some trouble with those who would like it. Instead of life threatening however, we just decided that we want your stuff. We also have a linkshell for contacts, and plain old IC communication as well called Acquisitions. OOC communication is okay as long as you use proper etiquette and do not interrupt an ongoing RP or chat. Check out the other tabs for more information, but thanks for reading thus far! For those that need an IC reason to look for X'vatt in game: Fliers are handed out around Ul'dah, mostly by the hungry, though they seem a little less so as their dirty hands pass the pamphlets around. It seems whoever had given these people the advertisements paid them well enough. The pamphlets, ornate in design, covering cheap paper though with an emblem that only some may know. A quick glance notifies of a new company in the area by the name of Vatt's Emporium, specializing in rare and exotic goods, they also take special orders for only a few gil more. A more studied glance would award you with a brief paragraph: "Vatt's Emporium, founded by the Seeker of the Sun, X'Vatt, welcomes you to take a gander at our wares.We wholeheartedly think that giving back to the community is priority, so with the turn-in of this voucher we will donate 10 gil of every 100 you spend on custom orders to the hungry and homeless. Our stock comprises of exotic goods and rare antiquities, only waiting to find their home in your place of residence. Don't waste time, these deals are definitely a steal." On the bottom of the flier, in bold black letters reads: "Vatt's is now hiring able-bodied members, young and old. You want a job, we're looking for you. Our comprehensive placement procedure will make sure that you will find the position that you are most suitable for." On the back, in little tiny print the flier would read, if anyone bothered looking at it. Also, as an afterthought, anyone who runs a market FC, or shops or whatnot would be great contacts as well, as every Thieves Guild needs a fence. But yes, sorry just remembered to type this.

Hello, I am still rather new, barely a week into the game, and finally got a toon rolled on Balmung, as well as it levelled to the point in which I may possibly be able to start up my old guild. Now, here's the tricky part. I want to know if there is interest in a Thieves Guild-esque Free Company. As I've noticed there is a mass of mercenary/Adventurer's Guild FCs, I haven't seen many to cause much trouble. There may be the villain RPers out there, but I'm not talking about being a villain, nor a hero. It'll be a more neutral-aligned FC, leaning more on the acquiring of objects rather than getting into fights. (Of course though, there are plenty of jobs even within that will accommodate almost anyone) Now, implementation is key here, as is initiation so that it's not just like: I steal from x I get their gil. Course it doesn't work that way, and there will be more intricate plots, as well as the normal pickpocketing(With ooc permission and proper initiation without godmodding or powergaming of course.) But I was wondering people's interest in this. Is it something I should try? If there are other guilds out there like this, that's great, but I'm still wanting to give it a shot. So, opinions or suggestions would be wonderful, this would be on Balmung by the way.

Nevermind, figured it out finally. ^.^;

I. Basic Info Characters:X'vatt Tia (Will add more later) Primary character:X'vatt Tia Linkshells:(None as of yet) Primary RP linkshell:(None as of yet) II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to Heavy, as I do enjoy partaking in other parts of the game, I do like having the time to do as I like, however I will very often be open for roleplay. If in doubt, just ask, I'm usually very open about it. Views on RP combat and injuries: I do freeform most of the time, however I do believe it's up to the challenged, my characters are not overpowered, unless it's for a storyline (and that's normally only villain characters as to give a group a challenge) I do however do rolls and whatnot, but very rarely bring in game mechanics into effects, I do go by lore on what my character can and cannot do though, even if it takes hours of research for me to figure it out. I am rather new though, so I'm just bringing in my opinions of other games, and this may or may not be prone to change. (I do not tolerate godmoding or powergaming, however I promote OOC communication as to possibly work around misunderstandings) Views on IC romance: If it happens, it happens, however my characters normally do not search it out. I normally go by what the characters would think. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): 95% of my character's families are open, as long as people abide by certain rulings. Such as likenesses, or certain critical pieces of information that they may need to know. another thing that's really just subject to asking permission. Views on lore: Many may call me a lore nazi, when that's not the case, I like to follow lore myself. However multiple times do I find things that aren't specifically stated, but make sense. Now, this doesn't mean half demon dragons or something like that. In other words, as long as it's not ridiculous, I will tolerate it, and hey, maybe get interested by it. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I do not really understand these, however I normally just use /say and /em as my IC communication. I imagine linkshells could be long range communications, or possibly a way to get people rping without having to be in the same area. But I'm still new, so I will learn these things. III. Other Info Country:United States Timezone:EST Contact info:Skype! (Ask me first), PMs, if I get to know you well enough possibly facebook! Also, as I stated multiple times, I am still new, this is subject to change or editing. This is really a first draft. Hello, introductions are in order, and a few questions to be asked.
X'vatt replied to X'vatt's topic in Welcome Desk
So! Good news, me and the girlfriend just purchased the game today and so we will attempt to get on within a few days. We're excited to try out this game, and hopefully be a part of this RP community. ^.^ Just keeping anyone informed who would like to be friendly to a few newbies. -

Thank you both very much. This answers quite a bit and is swaying my opinion even more than it already was on this game. I'm doing some lore research but maybe you will hear from us soon. I knew it was better to ask then to wonder until we got the game. Thanks again. We're already planning out characters, getting excited to jump headfirst into a new MMO. -
Hello, on the internet I go by Eilik, I am a twenty-three year old male who is an avid roleplayer not just in the MMO setting, but also multiple tabletops and me and my girlfriend have been looking around for a good MMO with a solid roleplaying community to satiate our thirst from our recent boredom of WoW. We have yet to actually get FFXIV: ARR, however we are interested in it. Not just for gameplay reasons, but for the roleplaying ones as well. I have looked around the forums and read the activity, and I like it, but there's still a few questions to ask. For example, I understand there are two unofficial roleplaying servers. I'm more of the type to do everything in the game, while my counterpart is a heavy roleplayer. If anyone knows, out of Balmung or Gilgamesh, which one seems to be the best in terms of volume of roleplayers? It doesn't matter as much, but for ease of finding roleplaying, it would be great. I have played multiple other games before, on servers designated as the 'Roleplaying' servers and even at peak times would find only one or two, at times there'd be days in which I could not find a single roleplayer. Second off, I love my PvE and PvP as well, is it at the very least, decent? I know a lot of enjoyment can only be experienced by oneself, but doesn't hurt to ask. Also, lastly, how easy is it in the community to find, say, random roleplay? In the world, in the cities, whatever. I'm talking about people who are open to, or even walk up to people who look like they may be in character at any given time. I realize that maybe the PvE and PvP question was out of place, and coul have been asked in official forums or on other gamer websites, but in my past experience the roleplaying community has always been the friendliest. It's why even when I plan on not doing much RP I roll on a RP server. Thank you for reading and responding if you have, we're debating on getting this game as we both think it looks really interesting. It would really help if we could get opinions on the matter. (Even if they are a little biased, we don't mind.))
