  1. Here? I think there was a big change recently where it's been set so you can't delete anything you create. I believe the idea was to make people think more clearly about what they're saying/posting and the consequences it can have, rather than just doing brainvomit on the forums when you're drunk/tired and risk offending people. So...unless I'm mistaken, it's no bug.
  2. Just a gentle reminder to those who might've missed it on the calendar, but this is going on right now! Feel free to stop in for a few minutes and see what's going on - you might just find that RP you've always been looking for.
  3. Physically, I think it's 100% possible. Keep in mind there'll be a lot of things beyond that, such as accents and clan/familial knowledge which might make sneaking around hard. This is RP, anyway, so I'm sure if you explain in your writing how well disguised your character is, or otherwise, then people will know whether or not to raise the issue! Just have fun with it.
  4. I'm sure that Steel Wolf is responsible for at least 50% of the people who fantasia to a Roe. Really, people will love any race, gender and appearance, so long as you put the effort in making a connection with them. Nobody should expect love to blossom overnight. Just treat it as you would IRL, and be proud of whatever you look like.
  5. Just to chip in - you'll need to search under 'headgear' on the market boards. Nearly all glasses are lv1 gear (if not all), so you'll need to scroll/click down until you get to lv1 options. You could also try searching for 'glasses' in the search box. Here's a link that might help: http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Category:Head/iLevel_0-9
  6. You can swing Aelia Flameheart a friend request in-game if you're looking for other Garleans to RP with. There's also a whole LS for Garleans and Garlean sympathizers, which you can find on the Linkshell Hall. Might take a bit of digging, but you'll find people to RP with - either as a loyalist, or otherwise. I've been wandering around Balmung proving that you can have a Garlean soldier RP normally. All it takes is not screaming 'die savages' everywhere you go.
  7. I think our resident lore expert will drop in shortly with all sorts of links and quotes from official sources, but if I remember correctly from those threads in the past, it was established that all races live to roughly the same age (which is usually pretty low due to the dangers of Eorzea), yet races such as Elezen and Lalafell look younger for longer. I'm sure someone will come along to correct me if I'm wrong soon enough.
  8. I have done nothing but teleport bread for three days.
  9. I've stuck with present tense simply because the game's default emotes use present tense. e.g. /dance Ludivine Goultard dances. (or) Ludivine Goultard dances with [x] I've been told by professional writers and published authors in person that there's nothing wrong with using one tense or the other, just so long as you are consistent. Sometimes people just have their own way of emoting.
  10. Wait, in-game, or for real? Wildwood and Duskwight...maybe they'd be able to go around helping people reach things on high shelves together. I'm having a hard time thinking of negatives...
  11. My name is Ludivine, and I'm an alco- oh, wait, wrong confession... I'm horribly guilty of eventually turning my characters into house-bound non-combatants. I can start with the wildest of ideas and character backstories, but they all seem to end up as civilians who barely have any excitement in their lives. Which brings me onto 2... I love excitement in my RP. Letting my characters lead a normal life where nothing sad or exciting happens dulls my RP experience. I know I'm the instrument of my own demise in this, but I'd love to find more RP that really shakes things up, maybe changes my characters for the better...or worse. I love the idea of family RP, but I don't know anyone well enough OOCly to find someone willing to do it...I wasn't interested in tribe RP when the Au Ra were revealed, and might never be, but an IC sister or brother would be so great. Maybe I should just seek someone -else- looking for family RP, but the idea of committing that to someone who rarely plays the game or is just starting out and might end up with me in the same situation as 1. is... (Also Balmung being locked for alts...and the lv60 grind...) I tab out a lot, no matter what I'm doing. When I post something, and am waiting for a reply, I browse the internet until they post. Maybe it's rude, but I don't know if staring at a screen while someone takes a few minutes to reply is accomplishing anything. That said, in group RP, where conversations are flying every which way, I have my attention on the game 100% so I make sure to never miss anything directed to my character.
  12. Best place to start is by saying a few simple things about the character you play. Anything basic, like their alignment, what they do for a living, where they usually spend their time. Just helps to let people know if the RP would be possible, or if your characters would meet up within reason. Would be awkward if you made friends but they all turned out to be voidsent worshipers who only welcome Roegadyn into the circle, or some more sensible example.
  13. I have the feeling that the lack of walk-ups in general RP has less to do with people not being able to identify who is IC/looking for RP and more to do with simple confidence and willingness to approach a stranger. As most people have said, the search info usually does a good job of holding information about RP. I've seen some with things like 'send a tell for walk-ups' or 'IC if minion is out' which seems to be doing the job just fine. While I commend the idea, I personally feel it's solving a problem that isn't there.
  14. Welcome to the server! It sounds like you already have the ball rolling for your character, and the backstory is really well-written. Hope you come to see Balmung as your second home (or first, if you like it that much!).
  15. Shamelessly bumping this to see if anyone else would like some connections on the Garlean side of things, or are planning any events that would need a baddie. Hope to meet you all!
