indeed so. so many goose bumps x.x
-
well, the end of the world was rather anti-climactic lol Thanks for those who watched.
-
stream is going swimmingly and I'm in a party in Mor Dhona fighting some imperial scum! ;0 Sorry for the screen size, I'm running the game at 1280x720, less strain on the graphics card with all the people around. (starting to think I could have gotten away with a larger resolution, but not risking logging out to change it.)
-
back in. Finally

damnit, back to the login drawing board ;0

day of the event... server overload!
-
you know what would be really cool... Is if during the event leading up to impact, they actually had like either a cut scene showing the impact, or just let the impact roll while we're running around, then everything goes white in a big explosion and a popup window comes up that says: "You have been disconnected from the server due to catastrophic failure."
-
That almost looks like something straight from an H.P. Lovecraft book.
-
Mine too I was on the boat when I took that. Had to take a lot of screen shots to time the lightning strike.
-
Best seat in the house!
-
Argh! Why is it not here yet!? The closer the date draws near, the longer the wait seems to get

The Mog Log from Massively Looks at FFXIV RP Community
Eternal Darkness replied to SamusKnight2K's topic in FFXIV News
I haven't done much roll playing since the game launched, in fact the most roll playing I've done in this game was in the beta. I haven't been as adamant about it as I could be, however I feel as though I'm in an awkward position. I've had troubles making characters I like that I can stick with (I'm hoping I've nailed it with Isaac this time) and I think that's mostly due to the fact that I love kitties and I only wanted to play a Miqo'te and roleplaying a female character as a guy is a little odd. I also feel that with most of you, your linkshells and back stories and the progress you've all made in the last two years is tremendous. I feel odd just walking up and saying "hi, can I join your group?" when I've been a little part of the RPC since beta, but mostly on the forums. I dunno why I feel that way, I just do. With all that being said, I didn't even know there were two roll playing communities with this game. I'm happy with this one and the way it operates, even if I've only witnessed it from the sidelines. If all else fails and we can't get along with the other community(ies) out there, well they do have a PvP option in 2.0 ;p -
*dry washes hands* I could moderate... oh yes... moderate... *cackles meniacally* *ahem* Sorry about that. Any way, I look forward to the changes, in the game and the RPC site. I haven't been around much lately (been busy working my ass off ;0) But I am fully committed to this game and this community. Ready for some awesome times! Keep up the good work everyone!

I just cashed in my oneway ticket to Goosebump City! I can't wait! It looks so pretty x.x Also, it doesn't matter how many times I hear it, but renditions of Prelude like that are so inspirational!

Welcome welcome! Also, as far as leves go, I was under the impression you could do as many as you were allotted (99) If by the reset, do you mean when the 99 reset? I've never run into the issue with using up all 99 allowances. Anyway, again welcome to the RPC! :cheer:

Isaac snapped the neck of the black Goldfinch between the thumb and forefinger of his right hand. The tiny bird, conjured from magic, burst into a swirling sandy cloud of inky black that evaporated in the moist air. The message it carried lost. Melfina was nothing if not persistent. He let his hand fall slack at the wrist as he sighed, his arm propped up on his knee, and leaned his head back against the stone wall of the cave that provided refuge from the raging storm that swept the Coerthas plain. The beating drum of the rain echoed off the walls, ringing in his ears. âThrough darkness, destruction shines like a beacon. Death looms in its light.â He said absently as he pushed the sleeve up on his left arm, studying the dark tendrils of evilâs taint spreading from the underside of his forearm, wrapping around to his wrist and elbow like a meandering spiders web, trapping what was once his sanity, feeding. âEvil holds no sway over madness.â The wound was beginning to fester, the taint growing with each day that drew destruction closer. Eternal looked up from her musing, regarding Isaac with a cautionary expression. She knew to tread lightly when he was in one of his moods brought on, she knew as well, by the darkness that coursed through his veins. She drew her cloak tighter about her self in a vain attempt to stave off the cold of the storm. âIsaac?â She said carefully in a low tone, the rain nearly drowning out her thick honey smooth accent. He looked up to her, his green eyes taking on a slight glow beneath the shadow of his hood. Eternal could see the madness seething just beneath the surface, begging for release from its prison. She suppressed a shudder. She had come upon him lying wasted and near death from a battle in the heart of Mor Dhona, the ground soaking up his life blood. His breathing had come in racking sobs. At first, she thought him just another casualty of the Empireâs occupation of the area and was about to put him out of his misery. The point of her lance drawn to his throat, muscles already committed to the thrust, the kill. His eyes had shot open and pierced into her soul and made her strike falter. The look of utter despair and loss in his eyes had sent a shock of horror through the core of her being. Impossibly, he had lifted his battle torn arm and pointed at first to her, then to the sky behind her. âMeteorâ¦â his torn throat had issued. She turned to look into the sky, seeing the red moon, Dalamud, looming ever present in the dark sky. When she turned back to him, her brow furrowed in confusion, he had a smile on his face. His arm flopped back down to his side. She had decided, then, to try to heal his wounds. After several hours of pouring forth every ounce of energy she had, she had been able to repair the brunt of the damage, ultimately saving his life. He had done something, then, that had changed the course of her life. He had also saved her life. Eternal broke from her reverie as Isaac began to mutter in a non-existent language, ramblings, the glow in his eyes becoming hollow and lost. She quickly jumped to her feet, throwing open her cloak, and rushed to his side, kneeling down in front of him. His body was shaking and she could see the taint in his arm throbbing as it grew. Eternal placed one hand on his left arm and the other over his eyes, closing her own as she began chanting a spell beneath her breath. She let the flow of her magic course into him, beckoning him back to sanity as she attempted to bar the taint from spreading further. When she removed her hand, his eyes shot open wide. He took a sharp intake of breath, held it for a moment, then let it out slowly. He blinked several times and looked around, as if confused of his surroundings. His wandering eyes finally settled on hers. Eternal relaxed and gave him a warm smile. âWelcome back.â Isaac placed a hand to his throbbing head. âHow long was I gone?â She backed away, pulling her cloak about her again, and sat against the opposite wall of the cave. âNot long. A few moments.â He peered over to her from beneath his hand. The attacks were happening more frequently lately. Though not as violent or long lasting as they had been in the beginning, the fact that they were happening more often wasnât a good sign; the taint was winning and they both knew it but didnât want to say it. âThank you.â Eternal nodded to him. He didnât have to thank her for her aid, as she had told him numerous times for what he had done, but he insisted. âWhat do you think the cause of the attacks are? Dalamud?â She asked. Isaac could feel the red moon burning into his core. Every day it drew nearer and every day he slipped ever closer into the bosom of madness. It pulled him to the cusp, held him, taunting him, slowly eating away at him but never keeping him. Not yet, anyway. But soon he would fall victim to its calls. He felt a sensation he assumed as akin to drowning. Isaac decided to change the subject, attempting to draw his mind away from itself. âWhat are the Legatus planning? Whatâs the Empireâs next move?â Eternal shrugged, shaking her head. âI am not sure,â she brushed a stray lock of blue hair from her face. âIt could be anything.â âSurely you must know something, you held a high rank amongst their order.â Eternal tapped the side of her head with a finger. âThe bug, remember?â Isaac nodded. âI remember little of my time with the Empire. The bug did its job well.â She shook her head in resignation. âThough I am glad for what you did, you gave me back to myself, I do sometimes wish that I could remember knowledge I had been privy to in their service. Even at the cost of knowing what I had done in all the grisly details.â She looked up to him, sympathy and longing in her eyes. âWould that I could do the same for you as easily as you had done for me, but alas I cannot. I can only help to stave off the clutches of the evil within you.â âI know,â Isaac said. He closed his eyes as weariness began to take hold. Though he couldnât see it, he could feel Dalamud like a thorn in his side. The burgeoning sense of doom it brought a constant reminder of the danger the entire world was in. âWe should get some sleep. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow. Letâs hope this storm gives up.â Isaacâs last thoughts were of his sister, Ailith, before the darkness of a restless sleep claimed him.

*Takes a deep breath.* Alright, this one is a doozy. I'll be covering three post to the Lodestone made just today. There's a lot of information that I will briefly annotate and links to the Lodestone posts will be provided at the end of this post so you can go over all the details in their particulars. So, without further ado, lets jump into it. Upcoming Schedule of Operation and Billing Procedures for FINAL FANTASY XIV (current version) The following is a list of key dates and procedures that are in place for the current version of FFXIV and this effects all players; if you wish to continue playing after September 29, 2012 please read the following: Key dates for current version September 29, 2012 Billing procedures will suspend until ARR launches No further registration or unused special item codes will be accepted Simultaneous subscription bonuses will be terminated for both FFXIV and FFXI November 1, 2012 Character data in current version will no longer be saved November 11, 2012 FFXIV service is shut down Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IV begins at 2:00am (PST) Billing Process and Special Item Codes As stated above, after 9-29-12, you will no longer be able to register new service accounts or use any unused special item codes (i.e., Garlond Goggles, Asuran Armlets) nor will you be able to add new character slots. So, if you want to do any of these things BEFORE the listed cancellation date, I suggest you take the time to do it now. Termination of FFXI and FFXIV subscription bonuses If you have an active subscription to both FFXI and FFXIV, you will be able to transfer your character names to FFXIV. So if you'd like to do this, again, make sure to do it before the September 29th deadline! FFXIV Forums Users who have an active subscription on September 30, 2012 will be allowed access to the forums. Playing current FFXIV until end of service!!!! If you skipped any of the above information, this section is the most important if you wish to continue playing until the service for the current version of FFXIV ENDS. So please take the time to read this section. To continue playing the current version of FFXIV for free until the end of its service, you must follow the instructions below: Current Players: You must log into your account via the Square Enix Account Management System web page. From there, you will need to go to "Select Service" and click Final Fantasy XIV then select "Options List" and finally, "List Options Continued Automatically." From there, just follow the onscreen instructions to complete the registration process. Things to note: If your listed end date is after September 30, you will be able to play for free until the current service is terminated. If your listed date is any date before that, you will not be able to play. You can rectify this by adding game time, at least to my understanding, before September 29th. If your character is listed as "Continuous", you will be billed on your next scheduled payment of 30 days, after which you will be able to play for free. So you WILL be charged for another 30 days, so keep that in mind. If your character is listed as "Cancelled" or "To be cancelled", at midnight on September 30th, you will no longer be able to play that character; if you have only one character, then you will not be able to play the current version for free. So make sure, if you wish to continue playing, that your payment schedule is up-to-date and accurate. Former players and new players will need to follow the same basic guidelines, but you will need to either reactivate your account, or activate a new one, BEFORE midnight on September 29, 2012. Moving on... Special bonus items and FFXI and FFXIV service information If you have an active Final Fantasy XI subscription, you will be allowed to link your PlayOnline account with your Final Fantasy XIV service account. This proffers a few bonuses: First, you will be able to transfer your character names from FFXI to FFXIV. Second, you will receive a pair of Hermes' Shoes which will increase your characters movement speed. Third, you will receive a discount on your Final Fantasy XI service fee. For up to three months, your subscription fee will drop to $7.00. Again, it's not a permanent drop in price, only temporary. Three months. So, if you wish to have the new item, Hermes' Shoes, you must reactive or activate your FFXI service account and link it to your Square Enix account that contains your FFXIV subscription, if they are not one in the same. A single service account can be discounted up to three times. Foundation Day Returneth! *sighs and wipes the beading sweat from his brow* Alright, almost done. The following describes and in game event regarding the Grand Companies. It's been a year since the revival of the Grand Companies and, keeping up with the fashion, they are in no short supply of celebration! As the burgeoning threat of the Empire looms in Mor Dhona, to say nothing of the least of the approach of Dalamund, the Grand Companies seek to raise morale amongst it's ranks. Gratuitous amounts of supplies, wine's and Gysahl greens have been shipped on behalf of the Grand Companies, of which the prices have increased dramatically as of late! The gathering of said supplies can only indicate one thing: Preparations for war. Ok, so as promised, here are the links to the Lodestone posts covered: Schedule of Operation and Billing Procedures Termination of FFXI and FFXIV subscription bonuses Foundation Day Returneth!

I was excited to hear about the level syncing. Even if you don't have hours upon hours to play the game and level up, like me, then you can still experience the game! Way to go square! I'm also super excited for the group limit breaks!

[glow=black]"We Dub to Make it Ours!"[/glow] The DEV team has once again posted yet another contest: Narrate the latest trailer for A Realm Reborn the way you think it should sound like. The winner will receive a few in-game prizes and the runner up(s) will receive a single in-game item. Entry Period August 27, 2012 to September 7, 2012 11:59 PM PDT You can read all about the contest and its rules here. Along with the A Realm Reborn Gear Design contest which has just recently gone underway, it seems that these contests will be a regular thing up until the launch of 2.0, offering an incentive for players new and old to jump back into the game and check out what's been happening since the games official release date of September 30, 2010 (sept 22 for those of us who got the CE). It's also a chance for free stuff! I for one think these contests are an awesome thing, though I probably won't enter into any of them, I'm eagerly awaiting to see the future contests and what they'll give away.
