Eternal Darkness

**UPDATES** So, seeing as this is going to be a fairly lengthy story with several chapters, no more than ten, not only am I going to post it here on the RPC forums once it's done, but I'm also going to publish it on feedbooks.com once I get it as polished as I possibly can. Feedbooks is a website where you can publish your own short stories or whatever it is you write as a downloadable ebook that can be read on any device that supports them, such as the Kindle or Nook or even the iPhone or Droid phones. There's an app for Droid phone's that links directly to feedbooks, but I can't remember the name of it. The reason why I'll be publishing it there is because it might be easier to read something of this length in book format rather than forum post format. Which now brings me to a question; I would like to comission someone for the cover art, wether it be someone I know at school or, preferably, someone on the forums here, I'll pay whoever it is somehow with something so if anyone is interested and who wants a sneak peak at this thing, PM me here on the forums with a link to some of your artwork and we'll get the ball rolling. I'll keep this offer up until sometime next week, maybe until Friday, so that will give people ample time to read this. I thank you all in advance. ~Eternal *** Seventh Darkness is a code name for what I'm doing with Eternal, that's simply the name of the project, not the story. It has no name yet. Though I would have prefered this part of Eternal's background to come out in Roll Play I've had to take a different approach to it, a completely different approach to it actually. Though this was already planned from the begining, I hadn't even considered writing a story about it but as they say, times change and you have to do what must be done to move forward. Once this project is complete, you will know the absolute truth about Eternal; i.e. where her name comes from, her background and everything else in between up until the written story ends, and the game begins. I started Eternal with an air of mistery around her for a reason, so truth's about not only herself but others as well so deeper bonds could be made, friendships hardened. But also because creating her was a journey that I seldom take, into the unknown with little known about the actual character, which was also part of the plan and you'll discover why should you choose to read. I'm approaching this project different from Mjollnir as in I'm going to write it in it's entirety, first, then post it though not all at once. Personally I would like a 3rd party editor on this one, one that I can trust and bounce idea's off of, but that can be a little too much to ask for something like this and I understand that I can be over descriptive sometimes with my writing and I will be trying to avoid that.... (lol, you should read the first chapter... damn.) So, this thread is just for anyone who is even remotely interested and for another purpose; as this story will deal with nearly everyone Eternal has met, if you have had an interaction with Eternal before and would either like your character's name omitted or if you would like your character's name to be present in the story, let me know because once I'm done writing and it's posted, it's done. Just note, not everyone's name will be in there, just a few but mostly the one's who stand out in mine, and Eternal's, mind. Well, with all that being said, if anyone has any questions I would be happy to answer some but not any that would give anything away. So that's it, I'll let you all know more when it happens. Love it! Awesome work Castiel! I was having issues logging into the site on my iPhone, but it worked just fine on my PC.

I was bored and decided to draw Eternal, only her head mind you. Want a full body? Draw it yourself, lol. I suck at bodies. Not the best thing ever compared to the talent I've seen over the months I've been a member of the RPC, but hey, it is what it is. I also wanted to take a moment and say that Eternal is in the process of change. RP wise her attitude, demeanor and a few other things are going to change. This had been planned since the creation of her back story, but due to the lack of Roll Playing, the path to her change was never traveled and has since collected many leaves and twigs; I have raked the leaves, chipped the twigs and dusted the path and I will approach the change a little differently than through straight RP because that'd take a while and I'm anxious to see how she'll be after the event. She will remain as she is for the time being, so if any one wants to RP that'd be great. I'd REALLY like to get some more RP time in with those that are still around.

I went with the more content route as well. But about that poem, it's talking about fire's from the sky, could that not refer to the 'Bahamut'-like dragon in the opening of the game? He's also surrounded by water, if you've ever been there to see him.

They may be quite embarrassed by that, though. The numbers have dropped quite a bit since beta. Though I am sad so see some of those people go (the administration bunch), I am over joyed to see the new one's come in and Square taking the initiative on this, realizing that their product is currently in shambles. I have faith in them, however, as they have rarely let me down. My largest complaint, and it's really nothing, is the fact that you can't change the system settings in game like every other game on the market. It's cumbersome, especially when you don't know how your system will handle the game at first, to have to log into the game to see how it runs, exit the game change something, log back in then rinse and repeat until satisfied.

((It's just going to be so nice in a year's time, when new players emerge into the game and complain about how "bad" something is; that's when we can all say; "You think it's bad now? lol, shoulda been here last year! Eternal listens to the conversations at hand, thinking on the subject. Perhaps it was someone's plan for revenge, perhaps magic was involved, or perhaps it was none of the above. "What if there is no rhyme or reason to these murders? It is uncommon, but not unheard of, that someone would simply to this for fun, as a game, of sorts." She paused for a moment, thinking more. "Or perhaps it could be linked to this Woodsin I've heard tell of." Her tail began to swish lightly behind her as she fell into a deeper thought. A sly grin crossed her face. "I cannot wait to get to the bottom of this one, curiosity is definitely taunting the cat."

Thank you, I am trying to bring out my personality in ways that gets around a lengthy explanation. Music is a fascinating way to achieve this. However, when I am finished writing, you will see a side of me that many may not like. I am hesitant in telling it, but I feel it is something I must do.

I only have a pro, for this section, and that is the people! I've received so many warm and genuine greetings from people of all race and creed that it warms my foreign heart to no end. Indeed I feel more at home in Eorzea than I ever did in Nifelheim, even if I've only been with you all for a couple of weeks. I thank you all and I look forward to meeting even more of you!

I appreciate your dropping in to say 'hello'. This thread has been feeling lonely from lack of replies from other people. The mog house, you say? I am not familiar with it and I do not wish to impose, but perhaps if you pointed me in the right direction I might be able to take the reins from there. Also, chapter two has been posted.

Updates to "Mjollnr" have been added, though no full chapters, just some info. I'd also like to take this time to ask if I could commission someone to do some art work for me. Nothing extensive, just some quick character concepts. If someone is interested, please let me know. Eternal smiled and waved her hand to dismiss any misunderstanding. "No, no, of course I'll take the job. It's just that," She paused for a moment, running her tongue over the tips of her fanged canines. "I've never met one to give a trial of trust before, that is all." Miyu stood up, adjusting her white robe and putting her cane behind her back. She nodded to Siva "Yea, lets go." Eternal nodded and followed suit, securing her spear in the leather loop brace across her back. "I am ready when ever you all are."

I should mention, for those of you who might be wondering, Nifelheim does not exist in the realm of Eorzea. It is a separate entity, or world if you prefer, and has nothing to do with Eorzea. You may ask yourself "But if that's true, then how did you get here to Eorzea, Eternal?" I would answer; you'll have to wait for me to finish writing, and rewriting to find out. Before Eorzea, I wasn't even a Miqo'te, only what would resemble what you call a 'Hyur'. It is going to be an interesting journey, rather it was an interesting journey and I hope that you will go with me on it.

Now while I am diligently working on transcribing the events that have brought me to this land of Eorzea, the tale has not yet been fully written. I must still seek out a scribe to make sense of my rambling notes. So for now I shall give you a preview of where it is I come from. Now I am not a map maker nor an artist, so you must bear with my crude rendering. I know that my handwriting is somewhat difficult to read, so I will list the places on the map with their proper pronunciation, if needed. Also, it would seem that I forgot to include the bridge that links Helheim with Nifelheim, something I will add later. This realm occupies a very large, and I mean very large, underground canyon, cut off from the main world above. The only light that Nifelheim receives is from the glowing orb atop the Warrior's Sanctum. At it's peak hours during the day, the light is equivalent to the twilight hours of Eorzea. Area's, starting from the west and working east: ~City of Mjorgin (mi-yor-gyn) ~Plain's of Eternity ~Warrior's Sanctum ~Guardian's Gateway ~Mammon's Underground Palace ~Guillotine Pass ~Mt. Thor ~Almone's Valley (al-moan) ~Karnal Gateway ~Goddess Lake ~Temporal Vortex ~Helheim ~Lady Hell's Palace.

"Come then my new friend. Let me introduce you to those who will be investigating and whom we will be protecting. Do not get me wrong they work for me who in essence represents the Mistress of this Inn." Eternal rose as well, handling her spear carefully, and she came to stand near Siva to follow her to the table. Siva stopped, looked to the entrance and gave Eternal a nudge, leaning in slightly. "It appears we have drawn in somewhat of a celebrity" Eternal's ears perked and she looked in the direction Siva nodded. A curious smile spread across her face. "A celebrity? I enjoy meeting those of importance, but you must forgive me; I am not from this, er, area so I've no idea who he is." Her face brightened. "But he does look charming, despite his attire." Eternal followed Siva to the table where she nodded to the two other Miqo'te at the table and sat down, her tail slowly swishing behind her. "Ladies," she said calmly leaning back and picking up her ale once more. "This is Div, and she will be my second in command. Div, this is Miyu and Ana she nodded to each Miqo'te in respect. Now, any questions before we go?" "It is a pleasure to meet you both, to be sure." She looked to Siva questioningly. "Second in command? By all means I am flattered and of course I will accept, but are you sure about trusting such a position to one you just met?"
