If there is someone I know I want to RP with in the future, I prefer to watch them RP for awhile before approaching them so that I can get a feel for their style. When scouting I will still act IC but I almost never use the information gathered. I only use the information given when people were specifically interacting with me or if something happened that logically would have caught the attention of everyone present like a brawl or someone shouting. If I am actively RPing, I view information as fair game, within reason. I will ignore conversations around me if I am caught up in my own or if I feel like the distance between me on the character is too great to reasonably hear it just like IRL.

Yo! We haven't met yet but I love volunteering. This sounds like a fun idea to me. Please consider me if you have the space. I think Llama could be a nice addition since she is a good follower with no leadership skills whatsoever which reflects my preference to perform support RP rather than leading.

As I am sure most of you are aware by now, the Final Fantasy Fan Festival is in October and tickets will be going on sell in a few weeks. I am curious if anybody from our RP community is planning on going, from any of the servers. I am thinking about buying a ticket even though I am not a hardcore gamer who does raids and end game content. I have to agree with Haven on this. There was no mention of a date given at all. The subject of this event was rather vague as well. From the looks, it appears that this event a FC event for Kingdom of Hydaelyn and also to help boost its rosters. I think a date and stating the ingame purpose would have filled in the gaps and was something I think should have been mentioned on the original post upon posting this event on a forum like this. This is an interesting point. I wonder if maybe they remember the family member but also have a more convenient memory of them in place. I seem to remember a cutscene in which Alphinaud and Alisaie hinted that the people of Eorzea "elected to omit" the details in their minds. I think, perhaps, that the families of these WoL did the same. When they think back on the person, maybe it is a memory of them falling valiantly in battle. Or maybe they created another excuse in their minds as to why that family member is no longer around. I do think that the theory of them completely forgetting the existence of said family member is plausible however. I would hate to be forgotten though so I find the previous mentioned situations more comforting.

Hello to Merie and Oroban She did raise llamas back home in the South Seas. Her actual name was Fupepe Fupe back then. Hellsguard names typically reflect your actions. Upon meeting her kind in Thanalan she was called Llama Maiden and the name stuck. I suppose the only people who would know her real name or those from the South Seas who knew of her. (I'm sure word of a Roegadyn being raised by Lalafells spread fast in the farming communities there)

I play the character Llama Maiden on both Gilgamesh and Balmung. I prefer RP over stressing out over raids and endgame. Seriously, come RP with me! Yes, I same the same Llama from Gilgamesh Server. She will played identically. In the past I have played Llama's story line very conservatively which means that she doesn't really influnece other players much. Llama is more of a background character I guess. If this was a movie, she wouldn't be credited as extra or leading. Somewhere between supporting character and coffee shop guy I fully understand that most people who play have things like their dailies and grinding as a priority with RP as an entertaining perk. I have never been into end game content myself. For me, being social with our server's community and RP is my priority. I do do things like running dungeons and stuff but it is mainly for my vanity goods like mounts and armor. We all play a bit differently but we can still play together! Some of you from Gilgamesh are already familar with me. My character is Llama Maiden. With the changes in RP activity online, I felt it wazs prudent that I made a profile on here and a post to go along with it. Currently I am a member of Driftwood Coast since November of last year.
