Welcomies!! Like Miss Crofte said, your toon's backstory is believable, and normal, and so it's fine. Secondly, haha, I would like to point out that there is not much RP in Gridania (I thought I ended up on the wrong server, lol, when I saw how silent Gridania was) as compared to the other two city states, especially the Quicksand in Ul'dah, so hang around, get a feel. Another improtant thing to help you get started is the Town Square section of the forums, it's forum RP, and once again, reading it should help you get a better idea in general about RP. You can even join in if you want if the thread is open. And last but not the least, we're all a friendly bunch, we don't bite (maybe! *evil laugh*... Just kidding!) so feel free to ask around for help, and RP with us, the best way to get into RP is to try it yourself! If you see a C'eleni Meztli online, send a tell if you want to RP! This this this this this. 90% of the reason why there are so many flat out obstacles to romancing my characters is to ward off the crazies who are going to blend IC/OOC together into a horrifying clusterfuck. E'yup. I agree with all of this except the second point. Not necessarily everyone is in a relationship in real life, there are people who are sound, sane people who are single (right? Right? No? Okay...) and who are clearly able to set boundaries and differentiate between IC and OOC, and are very particular about it. Ahem. That aside, Eleni is a virgin (yup, it's true! Don't get any wrong ideas men, or I will poke you with a fork! I will!) and hence, she's immature and inexperienced, and sex in general is a bit of an unknown thing to her. However, she is a woman, and therefore, she does experience sexuality. Ah, and she's heterosexual, well, at least she thinks so! Now, onto the next bit. Sex in RP is, of course, like in real life, a part and parcel of the characters' lives. It's a deep, precious thing that I guess a character would share with the one they truly love, it's something that builds up after intercations and getting to know another character, it shouldn't be 'oh, we just met, let's get a bed', (yeah, okay, it depends on the character. I'm sure there are highly sexual characters out there who engage for fun's sake only), once again, like in real life. So, no, there isn't anything wrong with it, it's perfectly normal. As for ERP, I really have no clue on what my views on it are as of yet. It's RP, just like all other RP, and if it stays as such, that is, only IC RP (no OOC bleed, cybering blah blah), then it's quite fine. Remember, it's your character, not you (once again, I don't think there will ever be an end to how much one can emphasize on keeping a strong boundary between IC and OOC, and be firm in that matter, no, seriously, be IC 200%, it's called RP for a reason, and prevent bleeds) so I think it should be okay to let your character get into some explicit interaction. That said, I think most, if not all, of the people in the RPC are very nice and sound of mind, and therefore, trustworthy. My two gil. :bouncy: (That has got to be my longest post ever... :dazed: )

So, I was reading up about Heavensward, and it got me thinking. The Dark Knight job (brings back memories, Alternis Dim!!) doesn't need a base class, is that a trend that will follow for all jobs from now on, or will there still be more class evolved jobs as well? And would a player be able to start playing a Dark Knight instantly, or at level 30 like all other jobs? Furthermore, 'multiple jobs' is kind of misleading, I think. Dark Knight was revealed at the London Fan Fest and a new job will be revealed at the Tokyo Fan Fest. That's just two, unless they plan on revealing more jobs upto the release of the expansion. So much for my wish that every class would get a new job, allowing for branching, and so that not every Lancer has to be a Dragoon, every Archer a Bard etc etc. I mean, it's there for Arcanist, right? And no more classes? Will we not ever get more classes? Only jobs from now on?! Noooooes!! :cry:

Why am I still absent from the LS sheet? I've been around for quite some time in the second half of October. Heck, I even came on sneakily when I was supposed to be resting and recovering! :dazed:

Get that much needed rest, what with all the antibiotics coursing in my blood, and them painful lymph nodes... My mom sternly told me to relax and rest, I was like heehee, I'll still play FFXIV. FFXIV decided to obey her, and went down for maintenance, lol. And I have to go back to college tomorrow, noooooes!! D: (Skype RP? What's that? How does one RP on Skype? :surprise: )

Oh my gosh, you all! I wuv you all (in a non weird way) so much!! :love: Anyways, I went to the doctor (my dad and my mom, lol), and after an ultrasound examination and some palpations, no appendicitis. The pain in my lower right abdomen is most probably either an enteric lymph node or referred pain. Turns out the real pain is lymphadenitis in my groin, and I have this massive swollen chain of lymph nodes in my groin, which hurt... oww... I'm on IV injectables now, and I have a cannula in my wrist right now, antibiotic injection for two to three days, then back to college. Thank goodness, all is well that ends well. And thank you so much, everyone for your kind words and concern. Much appreciated!! :bouncy: Ah, and I will be resting at home for a day or two now, and I will be playing the game, lol.

A primal can't temper another primal's tempered minions.

To be quite honest, I actually have no intention of giving Eleni the Echo, so she doesn't have it. I will prefer to RP a normal character, someone realistic and believable. And I guess RPing with someone like that is more fun too. Side question: Not having the Echo of course does not dictate that your character cannot have exceptional skills in combat and other arts, right?

Not sure if there's been another thread like this before, but here we go. Can a character ICly have the Echo? Like is it possible to have the echo without treading into the 'lookie, I'm a special snowflake, yay' and Mary Sue? If yes, does your character have it? If no, why not? I hope I don't start a fire burning here (and pitchforks anf torchfires, hehehe...)

Hmm... hmm. To be honest, I was conflicted between Colleen Clinkenbeard and Cherami Leigh, with a stronger inclination towards Cherami Leigh being Eleni's voice actor. Colleen Clinkenbeard I know from a number of roles, but Cherami Leigh I just stumbled upon. (I stumble a lot, I know, lol) Edit: E'yup, Eleni's voice actor would definitely be Cherami Leigh. After listening to many different voice clips, and thinking about it, the answer is Cherami Leigh.

Okay, I'm working on the wiki entry for Eleni, and I have a question. Basically, according to lore, ARR starts in 1577, right? Well, recently the one year anniversary just passed. Are we to assume that a year also passed in Eorzea? Thing is, I need to set her birth year, so... she was 20 when ARR started, recently turned 21. That would make her birth year 1557. My main question is this though: Is it now 1578 according to Eorzean time?

Eleni has a snow white chocobo named Mimi who she loves dearly, and the two share quite an inseparable bond. Of course, Eleni would never call her a pet, but a friend. Other than that, she really won't be able to keep anything else due to her life as an adventurer.

Always wondered what that leash was for. Now I knows!! :lol:
