The Bacchus Shots Competition is back! 1/22 @9pm
Melody replied to Cliodhna Eoghan's topic in Chronicled Events
Noooo, was so looking forward to finally having Melody meet Franz! >o< Why it never work out? T^T -
I have this problem every single time. It'll be doing it's thing, then the download speed dies off and then the whole "Unable to download patch" box pops up. Not sure if it's just heavy traffic, or if it's something on my end, but it always picks up where it left off every single time I start it back up. Had about 20ish minutes of this to get the patch last night. It's a pain in the butt to have to baby-sit throughout the whole process. >_<

"No can do, lass. I won' sell fer less'n twelve gil per ponze." the stingy vendor looked down his nose at Melody. "Oooh, no can do?" she sounded like a little smart-ass. "Well, I won't buy for more than six per. I guess I'll have to go visit your competitor down the way and see if he can't do any better. I thought for sure you'd like to make a large sale today, but if you're not willing to work with me..." she shrugs and starts to walk away. The prices weren't much better than this guy's but the product was a lesser quality. The seller looked at her with scrunched eyebrows. "Large sale? How much were ya needin' ta purchase exactleh?" he sounded more interested. Melody gave him an annoyed sigh and turned back around, waving her lists. "Quite a bit. But, if you're not willing to work a deal what good does that do you?" she gives him a look that said 'you blew it, buddy' and continued to step away. She knew she called his bluff, but she was going to make him work for it now. The vendor's eyes twinkled when he saw all the opportunity. "Wait wait wait, lass." he knew he'd been had and waved her back over. "I s'pose I can drop it down to ten per..." he said sounding slightly defeated. "Now we're talking." she beamed and bounced back over to talk business. She glanced down the hall briefly to see the professor and Martsia looking at axes. Mar's eyes looked greedy and Jigumundo looked like he was forcing himself for some reason. 'Least they seem to be getting along now...maybe?' she grinned and went back to haggling.

It was such a nice day outside! The birds were chirping, the breeze was blowing and... ...Jig was plotting?

Had a lovely FC beach outing and - PROFESSOR! What happened to your clothes?!

Melody said a silent prayer that he was not going to try to explode anything...or anyone...'Nope. Done thinking about it.' "Sounds good to me if that's what you really want." she grinned, turning to Martsia. "If we're all settled on the matter shall we get going?" She starts walking ahead of the other two, leading the way to the vendor stalls and making a beeline to the book-sellers. 'Wait...Wrong one!' she quickly pivoted away before she could pick up any books and made a new beeline down the hall towards the culinary vendor. She glanced behind her, hoping they hadn't seen that. Judging by their faces, they probably did.

"It's still morning, Mar." Melody looked at her friend like she was nuts. Did she forget about breakfast? Noticing Jig's thoroughly downtrodden way of going, she did feel a little bad. The only way he was even keeping up with the girls is because Melody's arms were still around him and Martsia. She was almost having to drag him along. She saw Jig glance at his gil pouch and noticed it looked almost empty. "I'm sorry, Jig." she says, looking apologetic. "I got caught up in having fun. I'll take care of both you and Mar for lunch." she smiles at both of them, trying to cheer them both up. "Nothing fancy though. I may be paying for all the supplies, but I'm not made of money as Brio likes to think." She makes a crack about her twin, but she'll bring him home a nice pastry. "Let's get some haggling out of the way first." She stops them near the entrance to Hawker's Alley and pulls out the chef's list first. "Hmm... Standard spices and vegetables, different steaks, fish and shellfish..." Melody trails off, seeming confused at the next one. "Morbul tentacles?"

It was late morning when the three little competitors arrived at the gate to Limsa Lominsa. Their birds were hitched and watered and given many pats for their hard work. Melody performed a goofy little victory dance as she walked up between her two companions, placing her arms around them both as they made their way into the city. "That was a close one!" she beamed at them, rubbing her win in their faces just a little bit. "We can rematch later if either of you are feeling sore." Ok, she's rubbing it in a lot. She directed them towards the bridge to the elevator lift. "Since the professor here is buying lunch, shall we let him decide where we eat?" she grinned, giving Jig a playful nudge.
-
Melody felt an energy in the air. An energy that sparked with one thing. Competition. A playful smirk appeared on her face and a giggle escaped her as she watched Jig and Pyro's antics. When she saw they were about to take off running, she made sure her bag was snug around her and aimed a now excited and bouncy Clef towards their destination. One nudge with her legs was all it took for Clef to burst out running down the street, kicking up dust along the way. A smack from Melody landed on Nicodeme's rump as she zoomed past Mar, causing the new bird to jump and take Martsia by surprise. Melody turned her head to yell at the two other Lalafells she was leaving quickly behind. "Last one there buys lunch!"
-
"Eh... No need to excuse yourself. The two of us were just going into town on a supply run. You feeling alright?" Melody seemed very concerned at hearing Jig mention 'suicidal' and the fact that he was trying to make bombs. After thinking on it for another second, she felt she shouldn't be too surprised. She glanced curiously at the unusually silent Martsia and tried to make light of the situation. "At least he took something away from his detonating tumble, eh Mar?" she joked, trying to get her friend to smile. Melody didn't like how tense she seemed. She nudged Clef forward and walked her around the professor, looking back at the both of them, waiting for any reactions. "So? We all heading in the same direction?"
-
Melody was perched in her usual spot on the railing outside the Quicksand. She'd been writing in her notebook most of the morning undisturbed, but then off in the distance she thought she heard an explosion. "What even?..." she muttered, looking around trying to see any blown up anythings. All of a sudden, there was a link pearl attached to a stick hovering by her face and an odd outgoing Lalafell wanting to know what she liked about Ul'dah. "Huh? That's a funny question..." She seemed wary of Kali, but decided it to just go with it. "Let's see, favorite thing..." She looks off to the side with a finger on her chin, thinking. "I guess it'd have to be scent. Much better than having to breathe the scent of ocean like in Limsa." She crinkles her nose at the thought. "Does that help your...whatever this is?"
-
The look on Melody's face was not easily described as she processed what had just transpired. Strained mixed with surprise and..... shock, maybe? After the explosion dust settled and Clef had calmed down, she reached over to help Martsia steady Nicodeme. When they were certain the skittish bird would not bolt, Melody hopped down and walked over to the charred and smoky professor. "I'm not too sure what you'd hoped to accomplish there, but I hope a lesson was learned." she said, pulling Jig to his feet and brushing off some of the dust from his coat in an almost motherly fashion. "Please be more careful the next time you try to snag your own personal hot air balloon." Looking back to Martsia and signaling the okay, Melody walked back to Clef shaking her head "Agh, this day is turning out to be crazy already and we haven't even left the Mist yet." she mounted back up and looked back to the still dazed professor. "We were just heading into Limsa, Jig. Do you need a ride anywhere? Clef can handle two."

Flirting techniques - inspiration and referencing
Melody replied to C'kayah Polaali's topic in RP Discussion
Melody has been a very playful smart-ass lately. I think this has made her seem very flirtatious to some...but of course that has never been her intention. *shifty eyes* -
"Ah!" Melody jumped back at the sudden loud thud against the door and nearly fell backwards. Hearing Mar's voice outside, she carefully stepped out to see what was going on. "Mar? What's going- Oh my goodness, are you hurt?!" she rushes forward to check her friend for any injuries. She checked Martsia wherever she was holding herself in pain. Not finding any blood or bruises she asked "What happened?" as she took a concerned look around the front of the house. Her eyes rested on Nicodeme who's reins were dangling near the ground as he scratched and pecked for grains near the stable. Melody's bird, Clef, seemed curious at the newcomer, but kept to her own business. "Let me guess. New chocobo?" she asked Martsia, now taking notice of skid marks in the dirt near the front door. Melody looked back to the grounded Lalafell and held out a hand to help her onto her feet. "Looks like you made it in one piece, so that's a good start." she grinned mischeviously at Mar.

Here's the more I spoke of earlier. :3 Can't stop the cute! <3 <3 <3 This is where Jig conjured up a barrier so he and Melody would be mostly protected from the windstorm. I hate that I didn't snap one while he was casting. >_< Brio was causing his usual amount of trouble and we had a slight standoff happen at the Moogle. Barkeep Martsia felt the need to step in between the two. And here is Jig being apologetic to a worried Melody. ^3^

I'm the type of person who hates the taste/smell of alcohol, so my favorite kind of drinks are the ones where it seems non-existent (but it definitely exists!). After a stressful day at work, I like to pick up a pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade or Smirnoff Ice (I'm a baby, I know, shut up!) and have one or two while making dinner. A friend of mine makes AMAZING mixed drinks whenever she throws a party. One in particular is called Grasshoppers and it tastes just like the cookie. It's all frothy and light and oh so yummy.
