1. I. Basic Info Characters: Navisse Rhandir, Yulier Valois Primary character: Navisse Rhandir Linkshells: The Gilded Mirage Consortium Primary RP linkshell: The Gilded Mirage Consortium II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Heavy to Medium. I conciser myself in character most of the time I'm in game but some of the more grinding activities knock me out of immersion. Views on RP combat and injuries: I only engage in combat with people I trust OOCly. My character's are unlikely to pick fights with those those don't know. Views on IC romance: I play duos with my RL significant other so usually already have a romantic interest if one is wanted. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Sure thing! Views on lore: I'm a huge lorehound so all my characters are 100% lorebound. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Always in character in /say unless bracketed. Always OOC in /tell unless you are physically near enough whisper to me. III. Other Info Country:US Timezone:PST Contact info:PM here, on Enjin as Ainilome and @ainilome on Twitter. 2. Oh Vanguard, how you broke my heart. Welcome to the RPC ^^
3. Welcome to the addiction! :moogle:
4. Our members are collecting Darklight and storylines are getting off the ground. It's a perfect time to join us and get in early on the upcoming roleplay and end game goodness.
5. Welcome! You picked a great MMO to get back into the swing of things.
6. Well, a primal was the cause but that primal is assumed to be Bahamut at the moment ^^ When the Calamity occurred a huge wall of ice came down from the mountains, destroyed everything in it's path and the falling shards of Dalamud altered the climate. It is known to be creeping toward the north shroud though, so something is going on. The Ixali are based in Natalan in Coerthas, and their primal is Garuda.
7. Another spin could come from the rapid climate change that Coerthas has undergone in the past 4 years. It use to be a temperate, green mountain side after all. Love the idea.
8. Donated! Will post a link on my FC's forums as well, who doesn't love fanart.
9. Should we wait to donate and request until Friday or can we jump the gun now? ^^
10. As you round the corner toward the back entrance of the Adventurer's Guild, you're forced to skid to a stop. Kneeling on the street is an Elezen woman, the haft of a massive spear strapped to her back, her silver hair hiding her face as she attempts to pick something up from the filthy street. Not noticing, or perhaps just ignoring your vexed sigh, she rises with a fallen scroll of parchment in her hand. She pauses, pushing as much of the mud from it as she can, before tacking it back onto the wall along with other flyers of its kind. Turning, she cocks her head at you and then points at the posting before brushing past you with nary a word. Who We Are The lost treasure of the great city of Sil'dih. The long forgotten knowledge of Nym. The buried machina mysteries of the Allag Empire. Gil. Glorious, shining gil. Many are the reasons that a person would seek employee with The Gilded Mirage Consortium and Gavin Prytherch III, born into the wealth of Ul'dah, is happy to find a way to profit from any of them. Founded in the years after the Calamity to capitalize on the interest in relics of bygone eras stemming from the uncovering of many historic sites, the Gilded Mirage Consortium specializes in relic hunting, trading, cataloging and cartography. We provide specialist services to collectors, centers of education, guilds and freelance archaeologists. Profit is the driving motivation of our company but employees of the Gilded Mirage Consortium vary greatly. From righteous scholars seeking to safeguard knowledge from less scrupulous treasure hunters, "collectors" with a fondness for shiny things, mercenaries looking for well paying protection jobs, adventurers happy to take the exceptional pay and readily available excitement. Our setting is crafted to allow for any sort of character, of any alignment to find a home and dive into some storyline. What Sets Us Apart Unique Overarching Storylines - From personal storylines specifically intended to rope others into roleplay to multiple, divergent guild plot lines we love storytelling. We have several experienced Dungeon Masters waiting to guide you. (No dice required ... maybe.) Experienced Leadership - Our core group has been leading successful roleplay guilds for nearly eight years. From Final Fantasy XI to Warhammer Online, Aion, Champions Online and The Secret World. If you've been RPing in MMOs, you've probably played with us at some point! Two of our three leaders were Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 beta testers and proud legacy players since day one. We adore this game and aren't going anywhere! Quality Over Quantity - While we believe there are as many way to roleplay as there are roleplayers we are very proud of the level of RP and quality of characters and players who wear our tag. We are not looking to pad numbers, to fill out a raid force or to keep our doors wide open. Being lost in a sea of faces or struggling to work your way into stories is no fun. While we take our craft seriously we know how to have fun and excel at playing the game. We're also happy to help those new to roleplay! Balanced Interests - Roleplay is our primary focus but we are also experienced progression raiders through several games. While we are not taking things quite so seriously here we do fully intend to take part in everything the game has to offer with our signature skill level and fun, stress-free atmosphere. If we've caught your interest, check out our recruitment page. Have some questions? Contact our recruiting officers in game: Navisse Rhandir Y'mhaura Jhogo Demerik Lorikath
11. This Green is always happy to see more Greys ... even if she wouldn't admit it. Welcome ^^
12. The game is pretty good about making icons consistent with style of armor. I've found most of my RP outfits by doing a whole lot of chasing people who are wearing something that looks cool down the street so I can examine them then looking on the AH for gear with similar icons. Keep in mind that gear doesn't bind to you until you gain exp of any sort while wearing it. So you can buy things from the market, try them on and then put them right back up for sale if you don't like them.
13. *adjusts Old Timer Hat* There was in 1.0. The ferry between Thanalan and La Noscea was an actual ferry that you had to wait for and then ride. There were no pirates or sea horrors and the ride was short but it was a very cute little boat. I was heart broken when I realized they'd removed it.
14. Navisse has more than once supplemented her gil by hawking her cooking skills during dry times. She loves to feed her friends and is a bit of a mother hen about providing meals. I'd have a ton of fun with a crafting RP event
15. Another friendly "Back in my day... get off my lawn!" from a 1.0 vet. In 1.0, teleporting to aetherites didn't cost gil, it actually cost anima. Characters had an anima pool and each teleport cost a certain amount depending on how far away it was. Anima regened very slowly so it was completely possible to burn through your anima and be unable to teleport anywhere for a RL day or two. And if you burned through your whole pool it would take you a week or two before you had built up enough to anima to feel like you could teleport without deep consideration. I had more than one friend that teleported out to the middle of no where and then realized they didn't have anima to get back and had to run the entire way. Or those that had so little anima that they had trouble taking part in end game stuff because they couldn't zip around willy nilly. Being frugal with your teleports and/or sharing them with friends was a big deal. I continue to treat teleportion as if I had anima. I concider it IC but use it sparingly.
16. Welcome ^^ Always good to see community event focused people.
17. Hello! Just wondering, is this LS still active?
18. Your account has to have both a PS3 and PC game code on it to play on both platforms. So you do have to buy both versions, but you only subscribe once and your characters are the same.
19. The mask does exist but sadly, it's only as a dated item that is untradable. My non-Wailer alt has one but somehow my actual Wailer didn't have one in her inventory when the Calamity hit. Ah well, thanks!
20. You can find RP in the main inn/Adventurer's Guild of all three cities on any given night. If you're in Limsa, the Bismark (cooking guild) is usually quite busy. And any of the outlaying hamlets frequently have RPers about with all their nice empty buildings. Just keep your eyes open. It helps to learn the FC tags of some of the more active RP guilds so you can spot groups of roleplayers when you're running about. Welcome to the game!
21. I only caught the tail end of this last night but really enjoyed myself. I'll be sure to show up on time for the next one.
