  1. I am also interested in joining the LS. At the moment I'm not interested in joining a FC and still putting out feelers, but this LS looks absolutely great for my needs. In-game name is Kimah Hext. Thanks for your time.
  2. There are too many variations in the menstrual cycle to tell. However, there is one factor that makes me disagree with your stance on Dark Knights: Anemia. In my personal case as a woman it is rather difficult to deal with and would, if anything, make it harder during that time for them. Not all women have this but a significant amount do and don't even realize it.
  3. Aside from the official sources, it's probably best to get creative. That's far more interesting, in my belief. Kimah has a thing for calling Miqo'te "sloppycat" or saying someone is one needle short of a Cactuar, to borrow off my southern upbringing.
  4. As an Amazonian butch woman with an equally butch Amazonian Highlander character, I nor my character would want a man so easily intimidated anyway.
  5. I am in the middle of undertaking a massive move so I probably won't be able to hop in immediately. I'm going to be leveling Astrologist to an unknown extent yet to represent the mysticism involved with Kimah's tribe that she left behind. Another goal is to work on her blacksmithing since that's her main profession, intertwining the two into one. I really hope that they release some sort of veiled garb so she can begin to properly fast and practice modesty.
  6. In my experience when we write, we inject little tributes of our soul into our characters, leaving a trail. I have also found that people generally portray three archetypes the best and anything beyond that becomes muddled or blurry. The process that has worked best for me over the course of hundreds of characters is plotting down one trait that can anchor my sympathies to the character to sculpt an organic mold. From there, I decide whether to ink in something completely opposite of my personality to deep waters never navigated otherwise. As it will happen, some characters are prototypes - and you know what, that's okay. This is an article primarily targeting LARP though, right? It has the same core principles but I think role-play of the likes of what we see on this game needs different consideration. With an MMO like this, it's vastly different because you can hide behind pixels and people tend to be far more drama prone or neck deep in wish fulfillment. In my personal experience, that actually seems to be the biggest problem that role-players face when it comes to "bleed." With LARP, you generally know the people fairly well out of character and there is stricter regulation. It's a good article, but doesn't quite hit the mark to address our type of role-play.
  7. Same. Twenty years ago. Been RPing ever since. I was on NWN for a decade and hosted a WoD server many, many years.
  8. (No permission to delete yet, wrong thread, sorry!)
  9. Considering her harsh background on the illegal gladiatorial circuit, Kimah is hesitant to engage in battle. She'd like to live another day after a decade of struggling for her life. That said ... this is the only subject & point of contention that will provoke violence out of her. She's not out of her gourd so she'll give a strong, aggressive verbal warning if anyone invades her space or touches her without her prompting. If they don't heed it or try to act cutesy (I get a lot of characters who are childlike sticking their tongue out at her who try to play the victim when she takes a swing) she'll definitely knock them down a peg, then probably leave. When she holds a grudge, she holds onto it for a very long time, so it's not good to cross this boundary if someone wants a cordial relationship with her. I guess anything that she specifically asks someone to stop doing and they keep doing it, it usually means the potential of being cordial with her drops to 0.5% at that point, and she doesn't abide anyone annoying to her -- so maybe I'm overstating it. Kimah's also a hypocrite and full of paradoxes; while she doesn't do this often, she'll violate her own boundaries and touch someone else if she feels it is important. Ex: Someone walking off to do something that will take their life, et cetera. This doesn't come up often. If someone did this to her, she'd knock their gonads back up into the indentation they came out of.
