  1. Three new associates have joined Artifice, Invention and Manufacturing since my last post, and we have hosted a few summer-themed events. Our business ever prospers and you are welcome to pay us a visit. We are as ever located in Ward 8, Plot 5 of the Goblet.
  2. Countdown to Stormblood! Are you hype? Because the workers of AIM are quite hype for more story content, and more opportunities to use our skills of invention and craftsmanship in character to produce things for the Eorzean Alliance. RP events have started popping up again as a more regular occurence, and we've seen many old familiar faces return as people come back for stormblood. As ever, AIM is located at Ward 8, plot 5 of the goblet.
  3. Spring is approaching; hopefully yours doesn't involve a snowstorm. We have been continuing the "PvE Hour" on saturdays, occasionally having full parties all going through Dun Scaith to get people their content relevant gear. Other than that, a lot of RP relating to scientific endeavours, and about four times as much relating to cooking. As ever, AIM is located at Ward 8, plot 5 of the goblet.
  4. Happy new year! In the new year, AIM will be looking to host our annual ball event; as well as excursions to the Diadem before it's disappearance and later reappearance with upcoming patches. Roleplay rolls on as usual, with pop up scenes both on the lawn and in our out of game slice-of-life channel. As ever, AIM is at Ward 8, Plot 5 of the Goblet.
  5. In december, we will be running PvE night for the FC and Friends-of on the 10th and 17th, taking a break for both Christmas Eve and the last day of 2016. We wish you all a wonderful december, may 2016 bring us more joy and less beloved celebrity death. As ever, we are at Ward 8, Plot 5 and recruitment is open.
  6. Remember november. That's what I told myself when I remembered this recruitment update! AIM wanders on, with the notable opening of "The Nook" - A cafe whose next event is set to be on the 13th of November. Why not swing by Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet, for a cake and a spot of tea? Recruitment is still open! And we actually have time to handle applicants, now that we have finished with the last batch.
  7. Are you a brave new recruit, wishing to broaden your horizons? Are you wearing a reindeer costume? We don't judge. With new PvE content out, the PvE nights are almost a full 8 man every week! And we continue to host events near and far. In addition, we have several new members; boosting our elezen population by nearly 200% (Reindeer population currently at 0%) As ever, we are at Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet, for business or recruitment inquiries.
  8. Fall arrives! Is it cold where you live? I certainly have a cold. :sleepy: AIM walks on as always, with some recurring events keeping us on our toes; and the stirrings of another background plot. Our last "plot" entailed the invention and production of an airship, these plots are always run very openly, with 100% choice on whether a character participates or not - But they often give impetus to start scenes, or give a character a way to introduce themselves to more adventures. The new plot? Could the upper skies of eorzea be conquered? Could the depths of it's seas be explored? AIM aims to discover the means to do such things, and you could help. As ever, we are at Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet
  9. Summer slowly draws to a close (depending on your local geography; hope you enjoyed winter, Australia). - And AIM marches on as always. New developments! Workout RP returns to the schedule, as Worren aims to teach the crafty and tinkery folk of the Company that fitness is next to godliness. The man has also recently opened his own crafting and tailoring storefront, providing Eorzea with a new outlet for their fashion needs. Elsewhere in the Goblet, L&F Publishing have partially opened their new offices, and aim to soon seek new talent for further books! Should crafting, tinkering, invention or simply social RP be your flavour, why not head down to Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet.
  10. Ahoy there! AIM wanders on, with social events and PvE hand in hand. This update I want to bring attention to a cute little writeup our FC leader made on the website: http://aimguildhall.shivtr.com/news_entries/353904 It details some recent events, and also wishes to make people aware of a optional RP plot involving the creation of a play! This is your reminder that applications are still open, and Social RP continues at Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet.
  11. Patch 3.3 brought us new content, flowers in our hair and new things to do on PvE night hosted by yours truly. In other news, members are experimenting with chitinous plates, someone fell asleep in the kitchen; and is that man designing womens swimwear for this summer season? All this and more at the AIM company house, where Artifice, Invention and Manufacturing happens. (And sleeping on benches) This is your reminder that applications are still open, and Social RP continues at Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet.
  12. New developments in AIM include a weekly organized PvE effort! Running those 8-man dungeons for your weekly bonuses can be a little tiring after a while, but with friends it's wonderful! We are still an RP environment first and foremost however, and have been holding chocobo races amidst our other pop-up social RP. Applications are open for folk who wish to join our little business family.
  13. Events have once again been popping up on the AIM calendar, just this weekend Salty Lake took people for a soak on sunday, and there were developments with the northern outpost on saturday. Day-to-day rp is still going strong as well, and we've had a bit of a streak of late of doing PvE content together! It's all going well down at AIM in other words and you are as ever cordially invited to come visit us or submit an application should our brand of social RP tickle your fancy.
  14. AIM is still going strong, despite appearances on our event calendar. The new patches and PvE content are keeping people busy; as well as all the RP not listed as public events of course. We gained several new members over the past few months, and by this point they have been granted full membership. It's always a blast when people find what they need in us as a group! Social RP continues, and you are welcome to stop by us at Ward 8 Plot 5 of the goblet.
  15. In the time since my last post, a new news-post went up on the AIM site! http://aimguildhall.shivtr.com/news_entries/328511 It details some of the adventures and events of AIM in the past several months. In the news; We have had several new members join our ranks, and recruitment is still open! Notably there is a event this upcoming weekend titled simply "Mystery Chocolate?" ...Do you dare? As always we are open to drop-in RP at Goblet Ward 8, Plot 5(large) for any comissions your character may need fulfilled.
  16. 2016 is upon us, and we have had the annual AIM Toy drive. In the coming months there are many social events occuring at the AIM mansion, including work-outs led by Worren Tigre, and social events organized by S'hayla Riki. As always, we are located at Goblet Ward 8, Plot 5 (large) and you can see our event calendar at http://aimguildhall.shivtr.com/
  17. The holidays are approaching, and while we are busy in real life, the company is as active as ever! Interviews ongoing and pending with new bright minds joining our company. We should be posting some events in the new year as real life starts getting less busy!
  18. We had a lot of fun at the talent show! Thanks to everyone who came by and showed off their skills on stage. In updated news, AIM has taken in a few new recruits to be seen about our halls, and we're excited to continue plotlines relating to airships and exploring northern Eorzea. This of course in addition to our usual Manufacturing and inventing business. Does your character need a specialty item? Perhaps even something as simple as a chair that fits a roegadyn. Come on by!
  19. I thought I'd add a little bump here to say that we host events most(if not all) weekends and are also active in Skype-RP during those busy weekdays! And the lovely Zanin writes these pretty update posts, like the one for October celebrating our one year anniversary! http://aimguildhall.shivtr.com/news_entries/310648 Our new structure means that if your character is an inventive or business-minded sort, the AIM company structure may be able to aid them in starting up a business venture. This is available both for full FC members and our Linkshell associates! ...And of course, your character can comission our myriad excellent craftsfolk to create something. Whether mundane or fantastical!~
  20. Adding my thoughts here; I've been on the server for over a year, year and a half probably; and I actually noticed a slight improvement in my lag when Heavensward arrived. I've no clue why, but since then it's been perfectly playable even with the lag. Suspect you eventually just get better at dodging things when you have half a second less time to do it. So I'm staying put! I like that most people I see around are RP'ers and I've made some strong ties here.
  21. Some of Foxberry's links there were the basis of how I wrote Lekka. I use "Lohengarde" as the way she knows her own kin; though depending on who she talks to she may use hellsguard as well, or simply roegadyn. Adapting to who you're talking to seems pretty common in all cultures; so why not! ((Also it seems fairly common for hellsguard roleplayers to know that lohengarde is a name for them; and adopted by many)) I think during the warrior quest it is mentioned that one set of warrior armour was scattered to four or five? warrior apprentices; And they themselves went on to carry out great deeds with a single warrior artifact. Wearing all five pieces was bound to make the weaker warrior mad with the inner beast; but just the one was manageable and made them powerful enough to make a name for themselves. What I always did find interesting in the little tidbits of Lore we have for Hellsguard is the odd bits and pieces that mention the Hellsguard live in and around volcanic regions and regard them as some form of gate to the underworld that they guard. I guess mostly because this has some clear similarities to Nald'Thal without ever mentioning the god by name. Personally I've spun this as being a sort of local superstition/myth; not for Lekka's clan directly connected to Nald'Thal but perhaps of similar origin.
  22. Eorzea at large believes in "The Twelve" - You choose a gods starsign to be born under in character creation. How much they're revered depends on cultures. Ishgard are way into Halone; while Al'amigho is all about Rhalgr. The cities I believe also have patron/matron deities; and there's a bunch of stuff about the worshippers of Menphina/Azeyma in and around Ul'dah. (And Nald'thal for the black mages guild) You'll get to more of it in the story. There's also references to it in the intro cinematic and some of the story writeups from the ARR launch.
  23. Feel like there's also a tendency for queer women to play Roe; as an aside from the "hurr durr meathead" stereotype. So perhaps if folk see too few roe they don't know any queer ladies or ultratough guys.
  24. We run in different circles, friend! There was a dance circle a week ago that got started because the Roegadyn Linkshell had a dance party. And my free company has at least 5-6 roegadyn. Few of our neighbours are roegadyn too so the adjacent area we live in is probably lacking Elezen or hyur more than anything else.
  25. I'm often a bad and forget that I even have it when tanking. After all, you can't use it with Grit on, and I usually had other methods to recover my MP without having to open myself up to some heavier hits. Having it as a TP recovery might result in me using it more, but I usually don't have TP issues either - so likely it'll be a matter of me not really noticing its there unless I'm DPSing and I'm just popping it for the speed increase. The change is largely for DRK when they're OT. It gives attackspeed, so OT DRK vs. MT DRK ran out of TP faster. It still won't be necessary to bounce in and out to use it while tanking or anything, and it's a reduction in cost rather than a regen type effect; So it's just a neat little thing for extended fights as OffTank. For longer fights as MT people can now see your TP bar though, so perhaps people with TP support abilities will start using them more when the tank is 3 minutes into a fight and starting to run empty. All in all good changes.
