Due to illness and a horrific workload on my part, I haven't had a chance to log onto the site, the Seaside Bar is being postponed until next Saturday 26th of August. I've been made aware that the Balmung Community Friendship Festival is taking place shortly, so please go check it out!

We open up again Saturday 19th at 7 pm BST/2 pm EDT! And we invite everyone round for a few matches of dodgeball!

Of course, this is not a final goodbye as we are still in regular contact with them and they may drop by every now and then to say hello. [align=center]What this means for Jackal and Hide?[/align] As of now, the officers of the FC have stepped up to act as the companies leadership. I would like to take this time to congratulate Ryder Bailey on becoming an officer. He’s been a great help in organising and running events in the past and I look forward to working with him more in an official capacity. The Sunny Seaside Bar will still be an ongoing event, and will still take place on the third Saturday of each month, if you are interested in performing during the bar, please contact me on tumblr (listed below) or ingame as Zaoka Aloka and give me a brief outline of their performance types and We’ll try and get them rota’d in! [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/k6OmutH.png[/img][/align] [align=center]Events[/align] As the fight for Ala Mhigos independence begun, the Jackals were contracted to smuggle weapons through to the Ala Mhigan resistance. Posing as simple peasant folk and farmers, the crew navigated through the fringes of Gyr Arbania where they were set upon by vicious Scalekin intent on making them their next meal. The Jackals were victorious in fighting back the Scalekin and it was not long before they found themselves in more trouble than before. Running into a group of Imperials, the Jackals tried to bluff their way past the patrol, though the Imperials looked to one of their number lecherously, intending to take her with them. This was answered with steel and spell as the Jackals siezed upon the Imperials and brought them down before they could abscond with a member of their crew. Once the battle was over the Jackals were gone before the dust had even settled, meeting with their contact with the Ala Mhigan Resistance, delivering them their cargo. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/nShyOTz.png[/img][/align] The Jackals were once more called to Gyr Arbania, this time to intercept an Imperial patrol that had plans on looting and vandalising a temple dedicated to Rhalgr, The Destroyer. Having rendezvoused at the Fringes, the Jackals then set out to find the hidden temple and retrieve the spoils hidden with in so that they would be given to their rightful owners and not wind up in a pyre or worse, the Imperial coffers. Upon entering the ancient temple they were beset upon by vile Spectres, which were quickly vanquished. Once more the Jackals found themselves drawing steel with the Imperials and after a fierce battle they were victorious once more. With the relics in hand, the Jackals met with their contacts in the Resistance and handed the relics over to them. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/c3FSFxy.png[/img][/align] [align=center]Stormblood [/align] It’s safe to say that we were all pretty excited for Stormblood, and as the months went by that excitement only continued to grow and now that Stormblood has been released, despite a few bumpy parts during Early Access, I think it’s safe to say we weren’t disappointed! Though we did end up saying goodbye to some of our members who transferred to Omega, we wish them the best of luck and hope to see them again once the character restrictions are eased on Balmung. With that said, Jackal and Hide will be remaining on Balmung and we will be returning to our normal RP schedule next week! [align=center]PvE Nights[/align] After some discussion, we havedecided to bring back the Wednesday PvE nights of old with the advent of the new Extreme Primals as well as the Omega Weapon raid on the horizon. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/w3bdisf.png[/img][/align] [align=center] [/align] [align=center]Housing Refurbishment[/align] With the arrival of 4.0 we saw the arrival of a much requested increase to the housing item limit. With that we carried out renovations in the Jackal estate. Special thanks to Ryder Bailey who came up with the design. He’s done a fantastic job and we can’t wait to start RPing in the new layout! [align=center]Probation[/align] Following last month’s largest intake since summer lastyear, we’d like to congratulate Drazi Rae, Klynk Wiltkoel, Subetei Noykin and Neyuki Utaura on successfully passing their probation and becoming full members of the crew! [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/S64Wwc8.png[/img][/align] [align=center]Events[/align] As we entered the first turn of a new Moon, the Jackals were summoned to the aptly named “War Room” where they were faced with yet another choice to make, this time the means of securing a vessel for a long-standing business venture. Steal a ship from a known group of retired privateers, or infiltrate a noble’s ball and rob them blind without anyone being none the wiser. Naturally, the Jackals opted to rub elbows with those of a more privileged station and made ready to infiltrate the ball. The operation was a success, with the jackals making off with a considerable sum of valuables from the noble’s estate, all to be fenced off in order to provide the funds to secure a sea faring vessel of their own. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/zGH9Y2r.png[/img][/align] A sizeable number of Jackals took part in the Spell Breaker Tournament,in which wielders of Iron and fist duelled against wielders of Aether. The Mages met their defeat at the hands of the Mercenaries and both teams were tended to by the healers of the Matrons Reach network, who were standing by, ready to provide succor to those who needed it. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/09ccwAd.png[/img][/align] In the coming suns the Jackals found themselves taking on a contract to brave the unforgiving forestlands of the Black Shroud in order to protect a group of Conjurers as they went about purging a foul taint that was plaguing the area. Splitting into two parties, the Jackals found themselves being assailed by the enraged flora and fauna, drawn to the call of the Elementals. Though they had to be careful, for even felling a single beast could have resulted in drawing further ire from the forest. Both parties were able to fulfil the contract to the letter and protect the conjurers from the marauding beasts without spilling a single drop of blood, and thus the forests rage was quelled, for now at least. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/QI44vuS.png[/img][/align] Though the excitement did not end there, for the Jackals were once again called upon to salvage a derelict vessel, this time an Airship that had run aground in the region of Coerthas, specifically a crate of highly valuable Lumythrite ore. When the Jackals arrived they found the vessel in good condition, though the bitter cold was doing its best to make its claim on the downed airship. Though the battle with the elements, and the ships failing structural integrity soon became a race against the clock as the crew tried to locate their prize as an advancing blizzard threatened to roll in. The Jackals were able to locate the precious ore and retrieved the crate in which it was contained, with the barest of moments left in their window to depart. [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/JPxVB6f.png[/img][/align] [align=center] [/align] [align=center]Preparing for StormBlood[/align] We’ve been working hard to prepare for StormBlood’s release.Thanks to a group effort we were able to successfully complete building a grade 3 wheel stand for the FC house, as well as unlock the required schematics to create five grade 3 wheels of pilgrimage and confrontation in order to provide us with enough Heat of Battle III and Reduced Rates III to last five days into launch. Our very own Ryder Bailey took several of our members out on map runs to raise funds to refurbish the estate once 4.0 rolls over with the item limit increase and was able to successfully raise 2 million Gil at the end! I think it’s safe to say that we’re more than ready to take on 4.0 once it’s released! [align=center]Recruitment[/align] We’ve recently opened our doors to new recruits and foundourselves closing them just as fast as we received one of our largest intakes since last year. We’d all like to provide a warm welcome to; Drazi Rae, Lallatte Latte, Klynk Wiltkoel, Subtei Noykin, Neyuki Utaura, Valkyrie Pleasant, Beatrix Vronhilde and Zuzura Zura! [align=center]http://i.imgur.com/foFLPZM.png[/img][/align] [align=center]Events[/align] Things kicked off with a tale of adventure on the high seas,when the members of Jackal and Hide were hired to serve as armed guard for the crew of the merchant vessel, The Wardens Glory, bound on a voyage to an uncharted island south of La Noscea. It did not take long for trouble to find them, as the group found themselves caught up in a skirmish between two rival Pirate factions. Choosing to aid one of the pirates in the hopes that they would owe them a favour, the Jackals were able to successfully drive off the other faction and continue their voyage unimpeded. All of you were a great help and the bar wouldn’t have been a success without you! The Jackals found themselves saying a solemn farewell to two of their number when they were called to perform another job. Faced with a choice, obtain a weapon for a group of pirates or storm a group of bandits to take out their leaders, the Jackals chose the latter, not wholly comfortable with the idea of arming a group of known pirates. While it all went off to a good start, the Jackals soon found themselves coming under assault from an airship, and vastly outnumbered by their foes. When the dust had finally settled, the Jackals found themselves victorious, though at the cost of the lives of Rhaja and Tailero. While things have been relatively quiet for the most part, we have not been entirely without events! The Jackals had been contracted to retrieve a rather nasty payload of weapons from a black market located in Thanalan before they fell into the hands of some rather unscrupulous individuals. Our band of rogues were able to infiltrate the black market under the guise of two rival buyers and their retainers. Using their wits, the Jackals were able to find a means of breaking into the warehouse in which the weapons were stored and spirit them away, successfully fulfilling the contract. As means of celebrating the Free Companies second anniversary with those from outside the Company, two free drinks were offered to all patrons, and they were to enjoy a night of performances. Special thanks to the Drunken Moogles very own Rhyan Charm and A'nara Nitsah who performed that night and to those who helped staff the bar. It wouldn’t have been a success without you all! After fighting their way through the villain, Orraut’s minions and a gruelling battle with the fiend himself, in which many found themselves injured during, the Jackals found themselves victorious and were able to rescue the captured Lady Symonne. Taking the name and rank of the officer for verification (As well as to invoice a commission once the job was done) a group of Jackals volunteered to aid the man in dealing with a cult who’s flame was thought to have long since extinguished. And thus concludes our report for this week. We’re looking forward to seeing what the next few months will bring us as we draw ever closer to the release of Stormblood and hope to see you all around! The last few Moons have seen a great deal of change for themembers of Jackal & Hide, first a change in home and now a change in leadership. Having decided to take a backseat in managing the salvaging and other “miscellaneous” jobs, in order to raise their daughter, J’Kilid Tia and J’Inarah Marad have called for two more officers: Torhe Raanu and Rosamund Hale. A warm welcomeis to be given to the new officers and the two are wished the best of luck! (Currently a book is being run on how long it will take for the new Officers to be driven up the wall. Odds are currently at 2:1) http://i.imgur.com/88Sv3fO.jpg[/img] Meanwhile there were adventures on the high seas to be had,with the Jackals being tasked with raiding a group of pirates in order to liberate a group of slaves and plunder whatever valuables they had on their ship. Though through an act of cephalopodan aggression they had to choose what was more valuable, gold or their fellow Children of Man. Ultimately they chose the noble option of rescuing as many of the slaves as they could before the pirate ship was torn asunder and dragged down into the seas cold embrace. After they had been given a Half-Moon to recover they were sent on another rescue mission in which they found themselves drawing steel against a pack of Primal worshiping Sahagin. To make matters worse, one of their number had been kidnapped by the foul beast tribe and they found themselves racing against time in order to save their comrade, least they join the ranks of the Drowned. http://i.imgur.com/ostxDki.jpg[/img] Though that was not all, for the Jackals were also inpursuit of a mysterious individual, the possible orchestrator of a previous job, tracking them from the deserts of Thanalan to the forests of the Black Shroud. They were able to subdue the Mad Miqo’te, only to find that she in turn was a pawn in someone else’s greater scheme and was taken prisoner, much to the chagrin of some of the Jackals, in order to learn more about this unknown puppeteer. http://i.imgur.com/cplI28F.jpg[/img]
