  1. Hello and welcome! If your ever on Balmung, your free to give me a poke, Levi'd love to meet more people from his homeland~
  2. I. Basic Info Characters: So'larin Tia, Levinth Dunant, Lamia Vuinuet Primary character: Lamia Vuinuet Linkshells: Open-RP Primary RP linkshell: None, Looking for one. [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-Heavy. It's a rule of thumb for me that if I'm on, I'm available for rp, and all it generally takes is a post at my character or a whisper of interest to start one. Even if we've never met before, and our characters are total strangers I'd be interested in meeting them and seeing what comes from their interactions. Views on RP combat and injuries: I'm alright with it. I'm horrifically inexperienced when it comes to RP combat and PVP, so while I enjoy watching other's spar and brawl. I tend to avoid making characters with heavy experience in, or combat based roles and generally only get involved in combat based rp if they have no choice (i.e self defense). Injuries however, do happen, and are role-played out accordingly, though I don't generally allow those that maim, result in the loss of limbs, or otherwise cripple my character outside of plot/story-line and with good reason. Views on IC romance: Always welcomed. It's just another part of RP, though I prefer things to happen naturally rather then plan anything out oocly. Crushes, Desires, lovers, I don't frown on much and it adds a rather interesting aspect to things though it's not generally my focus, or a 'main goal' of my characters. If it happens? That's wonderful! And the character development that comes along with it is often fantastic. Relationships, if any are there, are incorporated into the RP rather then become the main focus of it. If my characters -do- end up in a relationship with someone, I'm very open in terms of communication oocly and what types of interactions you are, and are not comfortable with 'in private quarters'. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Bring it on! Brothers, Sisters, old comrades, childhood friends, drinking/gambling buddies, etc. If you feel that a certain relationship dynamic might be interesting, your free to bring it up to me in whispers if you want them to have already known each other somewhat ahead of time. Otherwise, just rp and let the rp boat sail! My characters are open to meeting, knowing, and building friendships with all kinds of people and it tends to make the RP, and their lives quite interesting in the end. I thrive on Story & plot driven rp and very much consider it my bread and butter. Views on lore: Lore is the skeleton upon which characters are forged, but like any skeleton no two people are the same once the muscle, skin, and aesthetics are put on it! I'm flexible and open to ideas in terms of it and encourage creative freedom. Though if you proclaim your the lost son of Bahamut my characters, and I may tilt our heads at you funny. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): + By default my character is IC, so feel free to post at them, or approach them with the intent of rp if you see me in game! If I walk by you too fast, just poke me in whisper and I'll put on the brakes. Say: I don't generally use say unless my character is being short, precise, and vocal without expressions and actions. Emote: My bread and butter. This allows me to put dialogue in "These", while properly expressing my characters actions, gestures, and movement. It's my default. On the odd occasion I may go over the character limit, if I do a > will be at the end of my post indicating there's more. Whispers: OOC unless otherwise stated, or used in an RP to 'whisper' things between characters. Party: I'll rp in it on occasion, but generally only on request. Otherwise it's default OOC. Linkshells/Freecompany: Situational, and very much dependent upon the type and it's pre-determined functions. Shout: I have this disabled on all of my characters. Yell: Situational. I treat it as IC, but if it's obviously an OOC conversation then I don't respond to it. [*] III. Other Info Country: USA Timezone: PST Contact info: Levinth Dunant, So'larin Tia or Lamia Vuinuet in game. On Skype I'm winemasterlamia, and your more then welcome to communicate with me here on RPC! 3. IG Is what I go by most, usually I stalk Ul'dah or Girdania but the gold saucer is also an awesome rp spot! I look forward to getting to rp with you!
  4. Character Name: Levinth Dunant Character Type: Ishgardian Noble, Tradesman. If I'm online, I'm available for rp Day(s) of the Week: Seven days a week! Time(s) of the Day: 10am - 11pm PST Frequent Locations: Quicksand - Ul'dah, Carline Canopy - Girdania
  5. I've actually used this very question in Levinth's character. He's a tradesman, and seeks to expand his trade empire across the lands of the three city-states in order to ensure Ishgard has a steady supply of goods. Being the heir of a noble family, and a 'born and raised' ishgardian, he sees the task of helping to sustain his home city as something that is simply expected of him. I wouldn't be surprised if other 'stranded' ishgardians were also doing something to help their mother nation, despite being stuck in other lands.
  6. Levinth Edition~! Halone, the Fury — What is your character passionate about? ● Indulgence and the arts. Good company, good food, dancers, music, artistic expression through various crafts and trade skills. Menphina, the Lover — Does your character have any lovers? ● None, and though he's not actively looking he does enertain the thought of having one eventually. Thaliak, the Scholar — What topics or subjects does your character like to learn about? ● Culture, traditions of various races and regions, as well as their unique exports. Nymeia, the Spinner — Does your character have any extraordinary skills in crafting? ● Not at all. Which is why he holds such great respect for artisans and does everything he can to ensure their goods reach the right markets, and for the most favorable prices he can snag for them. Llymlaen, the Navigator — What is your character’s dream vacation? Where would they go? Who or what would they bring with them? ● Where coin flows, he's often nearby. Though for him such getaways are less about location, and more about company. A chance to relax, be himself, indulge in food, drink, and company. A break from being 'the Tradesman' is a holiday in itself. Oschon, the Wanderer — Where is your character from? Where do they consider their home to be now? ● Ishgard, born and raised. However, upon leaving Ishgard in favor of providing his Militant family with imports from lands far beyond their own he soon found himself unable to return home. Now he resides within Ul'dah, and Gardinia until he can return to his beloved city. Byregot, the Builder — What are the building blocks of your character’s personality from their childhood that determines their reactions and behaviors as an adult? ● He barely remembers much, though old hatreds run deep, as does a refusal to be anything but what he desires for himself. Rhalgr, the Destroyer — If your character had the power, what would they destroy? ● Nothing. Everything in the world in purchased and sold with coin and blood. Some things, and their consequences come with far too high of a cost. Azeyma, the Warden — Who has been the most important role model in your character’s life? ● He's yet to come across any individuals who have made such an impression upon him. Though only time will tell if such a trend will change. Nald’thal, the Traders — What does your character do for a living? What is their favorite job to work on? What is their least favorite job to do? ● He is a trader, and a prince to the trade empire of his family name. He is also a man who aims to keep himself well connected, resourceful, and respected. His favorite 'duty' however, is taking care of the various companions and courtesans he meets, and like a shepherd to his flock, he ensures that they are protected, cared for, and able to chase their own aspirations. Least favorite? Dealing with the politics that come with what he is, and what he does. Nophica, the Matron — Describe your character’s parents? Who is their mother? Who is their father? ● Levinth's father was a proud man. The son of a long line of dragoons that served Ishgard for generations and helped the Dunant family rise to their current seat upon the pillar of nobility. He was strict, intolerant, and held high expectations of others. Levinth's mother however, was a kinder woman.. seeking simply to enjoy life to it's fullest and helping others do much the same since she had the means to provide opportunity, and means. Althyk, the Keeper — If your character could go back into the past and change one thing, what would it be and why? ● Nothing, everything that has happened, had to happen for him to become what he is today. He knows this, and in so.. allows the past to be what it was.
  7. I rp wherever I am. Out in the world, in the adventuring guilds, even when I'm out running around on choco exploring the regions. My characters don't really have 'haunts' yet, so the best way to snag me for rp is to simply whisper me and go "Hey! Wanna rp?" I will literally slam the breaks on my chocobo turn that sucker around and run towards you going YES ALL THE YES.
  8. To me, great RP comes in all shapes and sizes. In the end, it's simply when we meet up for rp and the hours just pass away without anyone realizing it, where it finally ends and your left with the feeling of -wow- that was deep. + Character development. Rp that allows the characters to -grow- from the interaction, even subtly can often have huge impacts on future meetings, and even that characters interactions with others aside from yours. Characters who are willing to open doors of opportunity for other characters, mentor them, or help them figure things out that may be troubling them can often make the largest impacts. But smaller impacts can also be made simply by making sure the characters have a good time, or even just an engaging conversation about their views, ideals, or passions. + Immersion Just like turning the pages of a good book, a great rp is one that pulls that players and the characters into what is currently going on. Hours pass without anyone realizing it, you feel yourself wondering 'what's going to happen next' or "I didn't see that one coming!" even as simply as, 'wow, I didn't know that about my character'. it's these surprises that keep a role-player coming back to an rp partner for more, and looking forward to what'll happen in future role-plays. + Being able to trust your RP partner It's a bit of an OOC thing, but I've found that people tend to hold their characters back less when they know their rp partner can handle that character oocly. Specially if a person is shy, getting to know the player behind the character a bit before role-playing can help make any RP a great one, and a better experience overall for the parties involved! My two cents. I have to bail for lunch now. -fweeeee~!-
  9. Character Name: So'larin Tia Wiki link/short description: https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/So%27larin_Tia (still WIP) Have you completed the MSQ up until end of 2.55: No. My character should be anonymous: Either Works
  10. Bidding? ;~; -squeak- I'm unsure how to get started within the RP community here though, any suggestions? I'm already working on a Role player wiki page for solarin, which is... Here! It's in progress so there is barely any info on it at the moment. x_X I'll be chiseling it out daily regardless!
  11. There are unfortunately a lot of restrictions on the trial accounts. I can't party with anyone, I can't send tells, I can't trade, to name a few. But I can speak in /say and do /emote posts so I've been role-playing where I can. Even just idly posting by myself to see if any interested individuals might join me or come up and interact. So far though, I've really enjoyed all the game has to offer. Coming from Wow, Wildstar, and Aion as my past experiences I'm really loving the fact that this game doesn't -feel- like an Mmo but rather a single player RPG in terms of it's storytelling. I'm also loving the class/job system, the way armor and RP gear is handled, the chocobo's (and everything you can do with them), the landscape and world. I also found triple triad today, so I have yet another in game addiction to add to my belt. In terms of Rp types I enjoy? I'm an addict, and gobble up whatever rp opportunities I come across, though I get the most enjoyment out of story, and character development based RP. Plot lines, long term story lines, things that challenge my character and either evolve or solidify their views and personalities. I enjoy being involved, and a part of something rather then just keep to the standard meet-and-greet at the bar, though I do that on occasion to ensure I meet new people! My rp experiences have been plentiful. Far too many to count considering RP has been a past time of mine for the last 15 years or so. I've done everything from run guilds, working as an officer, managing an RP community, to just having fun writing and experiencing stories with all my role-play partners over the years. Rp to me? Is like a book with nothing on the pages. You write and write to make the pages turn, and you never know what will happen next, or who the characters might meet that will open more doors of opportunity for them.
  12. I'm brand new to the game, and actually still on my trial account until Friday when I upgrade to the full version! I've heard a lot of good things about the rp community here, and after a friend linked me to the website I just had to sink my teeth in. I'm quite excited to get to meet, and perhaps even rp with all of you over on Balmung! I'm a rather avid roleplayer (RP addict, not seeking rehab) so if you ever feel like interacting with my character Solarin, feel free to give me a poke on So'larin Tia in game!
