  1. Character Name: J'lyneth Khal Stage Name: Lyneth Are you representing a group or Free Company? If so who? Oh goodness, no. She'll just be embarrassing herself, thanks.
  2. I usually have a casual set, an armor/field work set, a formal set and a cold weather set for each of my characters. Sometimes someone will have a quirk that necessitates another set, Lyneth has a piratey themed RP set for example, or I'll find a piece of gear I like the look of so much that I end up building an entire extra outfit around it. But I'm always eyeing gear with an eye to building up those basic four on any character I play and those are the sets I keep in my bags at all times to swap to if I stumble across promising RP.
  3. I'm one of those people who will walk up and start talking to that person who is just doing the passive emotes, usually because I take it as an invitation to engage whereas someone having a conversation, even in a hub, may not be as welcoming of some random stranger walking up and butting in. I know I've had deep and intense RP scenes kinda ruined by that sort of thing before so I tend to be much more nervous about approaching people RPing amongst themselves than I am about approaching a person who's doing the passive invitation emotes. And I play the type of character that would see a person sitting off by themselves in the pub and decide to go and keep them company "Cuz who wants to drink alone, certainly not me, lemme buy you a drink, is this seat taken?" It's much more difficult on a more introverted character and I agree with the people saying you should have a plan. Lost object, need directions, hiding from danger... there are endless possibilities. I've gotten lengthy RP conversations off of just standing next to someone and saying. "Nice hat." It's hard to put yourself out there, but if it makes you feel any better about it, know that most of the people you're walking up to are just as nervous about approaching new people as you are and a lot of us on the RP servers are pretty happy to be approached since it means we didn't have to screw up the courage to do it ourselves this time.
  4. A compromise for someone who wants more cards/meanings to work with but still wants to use the cards provided in game would be to treat the 6 cards provided: Balance, Ewer (a pitcher for water), Bole (tree trunk), Spear, Arrow, and Spire as suits. Could even work with a traditional tarot deck. Ewer =cups, Bole = coins, Spear = Rods/Staves, Arrow = Swords and then split the major arcana between Balance for positive cards and Spire for negative. (Mostly because the Spire card is aesthetically similar to many Tower card designs I've seen and that one usually means ruin and doom. Then treat the ones used in battle as the Aces, the purest representation of the suit.Just a thought, and probably the route I'll take if I opt to play this kind of character.
  5. Lyneth will probably just flop down next to one and offer to buy them a drink. That's how she usually deals with new people she encounters. As for the massive wave of them coming up? So long as they don't seem like an invading army she'll probably just roll with it. I may change my mind after I see a bit more of their in-game Lore and get a feel for what the culture is like.
