  1. Don't be a Crimson Duelist, and don't be a "master" of red magic and I imagine it's okay. Like I'm RPing Boulder as just beginning in his quest to learn Red Magic. It might be a little bit of a stretch, but now that there is contact beyond the wall, and in the questline itself they want to teach, I dont see why not.
  2. *covers his NIN in Bloodbath* its so sweet. So, first time doing one of the new level 70 dungeons. The tank refuses to use their tank stance and loses aggro constantly. We ask politely for them to use it. "If you don't like the way I play, go wait in another hour queue lol" It was so bad, man. Why?
  3. I think if you're playing a Red Mage in the beginner learning stages, it's fine. Unless you are playing someone in Ala Mhigo, then more advanced is very doable.
  4. Load into a seperate data center then go back, it worked for me. Just dont try to load any job/MSQ instances. So those are STILL broken? I just want to finish up the level 50 SAM stuff. :< SE said they are working, just extremely limited, but any time I've tried to load one in the last 3 hours I got kicked.

  6. Psh, more like "how twenty plus years of Garlean oppression of a society changes smooth- ohh Doma!"
  7. I like the Grindstone, but it's popularity makes committing time to it anymore difficult because it takes a while! Have you considered altering the structure at all? Maybe I'm in the big minority, but changing it so instead of attack/defense its just highest roll per round so there is a guaranteed point and matches would take at most 5 rounds?
  8. If you and your friend are both RPers, then you'll both need to head to Mateus. If it's just a matter of doing content, you can use the group finder to do dungeons/trials/raids together.
  9. My main character died at the hand of Ifrit. Or may we got tempered, idk, I don't really think beyond the "no longer playing him" phase. The character I'm working to start in Stormblood would probably get himself killed trying to get his hands on some sort of forbidden knowledge.
  10. Thankfully this is not the attitude of most of the people going to Mateus, or it would be doomed to fail.
  11. Comparing this situation to the Wyrmrest/Moon Guard situation is not accurate because this game lacks something that WoW has, and that's RP tags. WoW actively directed the entire population to places. You only have grass roots movements that I do hope are successful, but it's just not the same. If FFXIV decides to slap an RP tag on a low pop/new server that's where people will go. Everyone. Balmung included. It may take a while but people will migrate. ESPECIALLY if they offer a transfer of housing too. But I honestly think everyone that puts RP as their primary reason for playing the game would go even if they have to start without a house and can only take what their characters/retainers can bring.
  12. That's what most people on this site want. I havent heard anything bad about Mateus, to be honest, though I haven't seen anything bad in my (albeit limited) time there.
  13. If people go to Mateus they can still raid with folks from Balmung.
  14. I'm fairly certain Balmung is going to stay locked for a long while. Months at least. It's THAT overfilled, and Gilgamesh is not a good option unless you're going to create a community from near the ground up. (and it too, is very full and will not unlock for a long time)
  15. EU WoW servers want a word with you. We only had one roleplay server left in the end. Just because it worked on WoW US doesn't mean it will on FFXIV. To be fair, what FFXIV currently has in it's one locked and previously impossible to get onto without paying money server also is not working. There isn't really a middle option in this race. Yeah but a second server isn't magically going to establish itself either. I think it's happening though. It's not and will never be as big as Balmung, but it's slowly growing and if it ends up as a free transfer point I think it will be established. Better? Nah, but good for tthose that just want something smaller where everyone know each other.
