  1. A small bit on Goldsmiths: Also a bit on Lancers and Leatherworkers:
  2. Requiem, why must you stalk me so? Uh I mean.. Dagnabbit, you deserve all the likes/reputation/+1s for this.
  3. While I am still a tad disappointed that the "Egis" look like they're aether caricatures of the Primals, I have to admit they look quite decent. Especially the Garuda-Egi, the more bird-like features kinda accentuate that it represents wind.. Beyond it's green colour which is the most obvious marker.
  4. Well with the elementals of Twelveswood it seems to be a sort of give-and-take arrangement. The conjurers of Gridania are allowed to use the aether of the forest to protect it. So if your character wanted use conjury for selfish reasons, or just keeps on using it without benefit of any kind for the elementals, one could assume that they at some point would lash out against him.
  5. Compared to the other class quests so far, the Conjurer quests are stuffed full of lore related to their organisation.
  6. It isn't much, but considering that I am still scavenging through screenshots and videos of the various class quests from 1.0, it isn't surprising.
  7. Not that the horn and general colour scheme appeared in FFs III and V as well. Nope. Admittedly if we wanted to be terribly pedantic we could point to the tradition of Robe wearing of Spellcasters all the way back to Call of Cthulu and various other MUD/Rogue likes. My comment was more to the point of the Tactics games (and all other FF's) having an influence in art style. We can continue to trade antiquated reference material if you'd like though. Well you mentioned Tactics, and Tactics only. I simply pointed out that the trend of summoners having horns, as well as green and beige robes, started earlier than that. No mention of anything outside the franchise.
  8. Not that the horn and general colour scheme appeared in FFs III and V as well. Nope.
  9. That would be Siren, while we don't know which role that she'll play in ARR, she is a primal. I'll assume, based on the rest of the pictures, that it is a mere coincidence that she appears behind the summoner and that it is simply a demonstration of her in-game model.
  10. Currently working on the class guilds lore, starting with the 1.0 guild quests. If anyone has information on the Elementals of the Twelveswood, please do tell me, as I can't find that much on them in my notes, and they're mentioned in all of the Gridanian guild quests.
  11. To join a Link Shell a character needs to be given an item by the owner, or a designated member, of the Link Shell. This item could be said to be a magical shell that is attuned to the person it is given to so only their voice activates it. When you talk into the shell the words can be heard coming from every other shell, and vice versa you can hear from your shell whatever is said into any of the other shells Okay, a bit of lore on the Linkshells for you both. The linkshells ARE physical objects which produce linkpearls that are tuned with others of their kind. This enables those who possess these linkpearls to communicate over long distances (mind that linkpearls are only attuned to one another if they were created by the same linkshell). ARR has sadly removed the initial quest where the function of a linkpearl is demonstrated by the inn keeper in your respective starting city, by handing your character one and giving the initial story quests through it, while the character is in the field.
  12. I suppose, even if we don't set it up like you suggested Xeon, the least we can do for the sake of organisation, is having a group PM, or a Skype conversation going. Communication is essential for a project like this.
  13. Seeing as there are plenty of volunteers now.. How would we organise this, apart from having individuals looking into specific subjects? Would we compile what we gather, or would we simply write it up on our own?
  14. Well when talking lore in general, it is kinda hard to be an expert. Usually what it comes down to is how good you are at digging up the small details (if they exist) and your ability to transcribe these facts in a manner that is inviting to others. Don't worry about it too much, if there is something you feel that you need to learn, then you'll learn soon enough.
  15. The heck is the difference? @.@ Apart from one being represented by the element of darkness, and the other, the element of light.. Then Eva pretty much described the difference.
  16. I'll certainly assist with this. As for specifics, I suppose that I'll go and hunt down advanced job lore, or even just class lore in general, including history of the guilds (where applicable), and the crafting and gathering classes. Other than that I could also assist with Limsan lore, which I suppose will include Sahagins and Kobolds. Unless someone wants to focus specifically on the Beastmen races of course.
  17. As I recall though, the 7th Umbral era is now over, being a very brief event since Bahamut was spirited away to unknown shores. Thus ARR actually takes place during the 7th Astral Era. I've had a little trouble in digging up the article in which I read this, so don't take it too close to heart yet.
  18. By Jove the average age here is close to the estimated age of.. I dunno, pottery from Ancient Greece. I jest of course.. Though I do find myself below the (current) average, at 23.
  19. What is it with all of you WSRP'ers coming on over and trouncing around in my domain.. I can deal with Renaise being here, as he is an old member like me self.. *ahem* I mean hi and welcome!
  20. If events are your major concern, then I'd suggest attempting to gather a few people interested in making events in "EU time" (which I assume to be GMT, CET, and EET.. Perhaps GMT -1). If it is simple interaction, then I wouldn't worry, so far there have been plenty of "EU player here" comments in the various threads, so we seem to be plenty, if not united as of yet.. And apparently not vocal enough for those who share your concerns to be at ease.
  21. Well.. Considering that "The Void" which is spoken of in so many Final Fantasy games, seems like it is canonically connecting each and every one of the games, those beings who are known to cross the Void would indeed be ideal.. And Enuo in FFV:A, along with Shinryu were really enjoyable.
