If you're concerned about the inventory of your 1.0 character blowing up the bag space of your ARR, have no fear. There is an NPC that you can talk to that will have all your over flow items. I don't remember what that npc is called but they're usually hanging around the mailbox moogles.

I don't know why anyone ELSE would, but I wanted to just to see what was involved. Since the character I imported character already met the requirements to do the advanced job unlock quest, it really wouldn't have been that big of a deal.

Thank you very much.

Silly Question / Job Unlocking

W E L C O M E ! It's never too late for an introduction.

Oh Snap! That's 3, count them Three hopes. Not two, Not one, but THREE! If that doesn't say 'Warm Welcome' then I don't know what does.

If you don't get it by Thursday (be sure to check your spam folder) then you might consider putting in a support request. If you do it during business hours you can actually request to chat with a live person. Otherwise you can use the e-mail support. Chances are if your previous letter stated 'instructions to come' then you'll probably get it before Friday.

I. Basic Info Characters: - Drake Blackwell, Nayade Blackwell Primary character: - Haven't Decided yet. Linkshells: - Crimson Phoenix Primary RP linkshell: - Crimson Phoenix II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): This depends mostly on my mood. I'm usually very light RP. If you take the time to get to know me, beyond the gruff exterior I think you'll find I'm a very laid back person. I don't sweat over the small stuff be it IC or OOC. My RP styles vary depending on who I'm role playing with. I started out on BBS forums (yes I'm old), MUD's, and Forum Based RP's. Role playing in an MMO I find to be slightly restrictive but it can be a lot of fun if you put your mind to it. Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't mind it, but it's not really for me. If your character wants to start a fight then take it outside, if I'm not there in five minutes you can start without me. Views on IC romance: I don't care if people have IC romances. I do care however when it turns into ERP and spills out into public mediums such as /say chat. My 'view' is that if people are going to do it, they should keep it private. Non-Erotic (even though it can be as annoying as sitting next to newlyweds at a public restaurant) is acceptable. Me? I tend to stay away from it for the simple fact that most people can't seem to understand the difference between reality and fantasy. If I do engage my character into a relationship it would be a very special case and only with someone I've known a while. It would also be in private! :cactuar: One thing I would like to point out is my views on GLBT RP. If you want to role play that your character is Gay or Lesbian, then that's fine. It's your game, it's your story, and YOU should enjoy it. Personally my Male characters are straight, my female characters are generally OOC only (or in the rare times I do RP them, then they're just simply not interested in romance). Many years ago I have played characters that were Gay or Lesbian but I find myself lacking in those areas. One of the grand rules of writing is "Write what you know" and since I'm not Gay, Lesbian, Bi or transsexual, then I'm not going to bother trying to write about it. I apply this to my Role play so I won't do it. RESPECT - as long as you respect my boundaries then I will respect yours. I get uncomfortable with Futa and I will NOT have anything to do with you if you're into Age Play and/or Rape. I'll slap that conversation down and put you on /blacklist without a second thought. :bomb: Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): It's RP, they're stories. Why couldn't you have a brother or a sister or even parents played by yourself or another PC? Not sure this question is even relevant to be honest. Views on lore: Lore is as important as the game itself. Though I myself tend to be lazy and not always read the lore but it's good to know about the world around you. I'm not an RP Nazi but it would help to at least know something. (The fine young Hyur man stands before you laughing. "Hey, aren't you from Jersey? How you doin'?") :frustrated: Yeah, doesn't fit into the world. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Personally I think chat mediums such as Linkshell/guild, trade channels etc, should be OOC. I find it hard to believe that my character who is fishing off the docks in Lomsa would be having a conversation with someone who is fighting marmots outside of Gridania. -Which brings up an interesting point in this MMORPG. In FFXI they actually incorporated 'linkshells' as a magical form of communications in the game itself. Ok, it's in the game lore, I can accept that people want to make LS chat IC, but it's not for me. My LS chat is OOC. I'm not going to 'force' anyone to RP if they don't want. III. Other Info Country: - USA Timezone: - Central Contact info: In Game, Enjin or PM here. Once I get to know you then I might be willing to give you my IM/Skype. Great Idea and very in-depth. However I'm gonna pass on this one. My days of playing Dungeons and Dragons is over. A previous MMORPG guild I was in actually implemented a dice roll system into most of their RP. Some people really enjoyed it and still do it to this day. However it's certainly not for everyone and I can respect that. I just can't see taking 6 hours to role play a five minute scenario. Since I do know people that love this kind of 'stuff', I'll be MORE then happy to send them your way if that's ok.

The use of 'any aspect' would lead me to assume that means race sex visual details name and deity. This is good news.

Linkshell and Free Company
-
That's understandable. Then again, when I consider that the people I'm bringing with me are more familiar with guilds then they are linkshells, it won't matter as much. In other MMO's you can only be a part of one guild. Thinking back to what the last two posters are saying, if someone joins a Free Company, can they not leave it if they so desire, or is it permanent?
-
That makes sense. All three responses do actually. I'm quite familiar with XI's LS system and 1.0's, but I left 1.0 before anything called a free company was out. Either that I just never saw it when I played. So, let's assume they don't completely change everything (Since EVERYTHING is subject to change), wouldn't it be better if I were to try to recruit for my Free Company instead of Linkshell? I'm bringing a few folks from Tera with me to 2.0, as well as a few folks from XI and a few other misc games. We decided on a name and such, but I figured I had better find out what the difference is before I screw it up.
-
Not Grand Companies, I know what that is. Could someone explain in plain English what the difference between a 'Company' and 'Linkshell' is? I've read what I could scrounge up from the loadstone or the official website as well as the last 2 hour long video Q&A. I'm still a tad confused. Is a Company the same thing that other games would call a 'Guild'? If so, what's the use of a Linkshell then? If not, then *scratches head* what is it?
