To the Original Post; I'm not going to read all the replies you've received thus far, that's between you and them and I honestly don't care what other people think of you. I can say however that I honestly have had absolutely NO negative experiences with your guild thus far. I can also say that I have had absolutely no positive ones either. I don't believe that I've ever run into any of your people in 1.0 or any of the betas. It's a small world yet so very big. I admire your attempt to reach out to the community. I can see how honest criticism can help you to grow and adapt to the ever changing world. I can also see that it can lead to disaster if not properly handled. A rod that bends in the wind is not easily broken. To sway with the winds of change and harmonize with world around you is a valuable gift. The rod does not turn itself into an Oak nor does is lay down and become fodder to be trampled on. In straight English, I hope that you don't become so worried about what other people think of you, that you loose sight of what you truly wish to accomplish in your guild. You'll never please everyone and if you try, you'll please no one. As long as you can be yourself and enjoy the game, you'll always be ok by me. ~~Hope this helps.

Update: This is an update, not a bump. :tonberry: Our community has settled on Balmung for our home. I also wanted to post the definition of our 'Guild' here. The Linkshell(s) A linkshell is an invite only private chat channel, you can join up to 8 linkshells at a time. Each linkshell has a cool interface that tells you who is on, what class they are playing, what level they are and where they are. Our Linkshell is a Roleplay Linkshell, that means that people are in character most of the time when talking there. We use ((OOC)) to denote out of character chatter. Free Company A Free Company is like a guild in other mmo's. They'll have housing and other perks for being a part of a Free Company. Our Free Company will also be called Crimson Phoenix and will be open to anyone who wishes to join, we are working on its story and will be asking for input and suggestions. Being a part of the Free Company grants you an invite to the Crimson Phoenix Linkshell and you can choose to join the RP Linkshell. The Guild Collectively all of this, the 2 linkshell and the free company, will be known simply as the Guild. Anyone who wishes to join must agree to our guidelines that are part of the Recruitment Form.

Well, I don't know any of you. So therefore... WELCOME!

Yep, I'm one of those people that will sometimes just pick one thing out of a post and address it while completely oblivious to everything else and everyone else's responses. Yep, I'm lazy. --Short answer: No. --Elaboration: A game, a community, a guild... You'll get what you put into it. If you reach out, people will reach back. If you isolate yourself, then people will tend to leave you alone. My guild is bringing in several new people to Balmung. There's only maybe 3 or 4 of us that have played final fantasy XI and only 2 of us that have 1.0 characters for ARR. There are a few in my guild that are hard core RP'rs. Several that are casual and a few that don't RP at all. We're from all different types of games and have found each other through various means. So why mention this? I forget... :chocobo::chocobo::chocobo::chocobo::chocobo: [5 minutes later] Oh yeah.. so it's not hard to get 'in' as you say. You just have to put one foot in front of the other and have fun. I'm already on Balmung. I'm only concerned that my friends won't be able to create new characters there. I checked the application page and only the following servers were available for me. Ridill (jp) Masamune (jp) Durandal (jp) Aeigis (jp) Gungnir (jp) Sargatanas (Na/Eu) Balmung (Na/Eu) Hyperion (Na/Eu) Excalibur (FOOL) Ragnarok (Na/Eu) Perhaps even if we wanted to transfer to the new 'non official' RP server we can't because it's non-legacy? I'm still not entirely sure on this.

I heard a rumor that Balmung was going to be locked to new players after release for up to 6 months. Anyone heard anything about that? This concerns me as most the people in my Free Company are new players and if we can't all play on the same server...then we would have to choose a new one.
