  1. RNG I spend over 40 hours a week at work behind a computer, and all of my free time playing FFXIV. Spending so much time sitting down, I like to spend at least an hour or two a day exercising followed by yoga. I use my gathering time to catch up on twitch/youtube/world affairs. Can't wait to get to Balmung and add RP in there.
  2. Yeah so true. When I first came across Hildebrand I thought he was well.. kind of lame to be honest? Now with 2.0 he's a big hit.
  3. It's okay, I was like ahh I just started here and I'm derailing threads already. I'll post these and not say anymore haha.. EDIT: Sorry mod I didn't catch your posts. You can delete mine!

  5. I Resent said statement! But speaking to Hikaru's question, there is always room for creativity. As an example, I created Tonton Tinyblade before consulting naming conventions for Seekers of the Sun. However, there is a Miqo'te seeker population that immigrated to Lominsa and does not hold to their traditions as much as say the Sagolii population. Even the Sagolii tribe have a Nunh as a leader, which isn't necessarily standard in terms of naming. That deviancy inspired a whole backstory on Tonton, his move to Lominsa, his background as L'Sta Tia of the viper tribe, and his eventual adoption of a Lominsan nickname. I would say you could work this naming thing to your advantage.
  6. That makes sense. I had to do a bit of searching to refresh my memory, but Matoya in the Matoya's cave questline was a Sharlayan Sage. She has brooms and frogs as familiars. It's one of my favourite questlines easily.
  7. I'm glad to hear you're having fun as a scholar/SMN. I'm rolling a healer next and didn't really consumer scholar as an option. But if you're telling me it's cushy and fun, that may just be the right way to go. Honestly I have more fun with end game. Instances are fun, and I feel like this is where you meet more people on the server. Working on crafting and gathering in between dungeons and your profit starts increasing exponentially too. Labrynth armour looks really good imo. I want to try it. I just need to find a good FC when I hit Balmung on the 20th. I'm already playing catchup lol. I feel like most of the server is way ahead of me! I'm thinking I'll get 190 max before 3.1 as well. The thing is I don't want to do another DPS so I'm not sure I'll be making much use of cross-class armour. :bouncy:
  8. Hey this is great. do you have a Patreon site, Tumblr? Something like that? I wouldn't mind getting some work done in the future.
  9. Wow thanks for all the info guys. I've only got one character to 60 currently (although I'm working diligently on my botanist, and think I'll start a white mage soon.. or today). And I'm looking forward to the new relic weapon, most definitely. From the sounds of it, I won't be able to complete a 190 or 200 set before 3.1 comes out, which is probably going to shake things up pretty well. I guess I'll start saving up those law tomes again to get that 180 gear asap. It sounds like by the time 3.1 hits I'll have a hodgepodge of gear lol. I already have an ilvl200 ring, so at least I can break that 179 stage before 3.1 hits. My main is BRD Sounsyy. I wish we had more utility in fights, but it's still great fun to play, and doesn't look half bad. I dunno Aris, probably not the best gear. One day for sure I'll cap out my gear, but I'm just trying to keep up with content as best I can at this point.

    Hi there

I wanna say I've heard the 20th of some month... but I'm not quite sure. Need some clarification on that. Gah. I decided to stop being lazy and see if I could find something formal. So it looks like it's going to be from October 5th to the 20th: Chaos Data Center and All Worlds Maintenance (Oct.18 - 20) ... * In preparation for this task, the World Transfer Service has been suspended since Oct. 5, 2015 1:00 a.m. (PDT). http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/ded8de1968b2e12f896860178754bfc18e646430 I wish it would hurry. I'm ready for the famed Balmung.
  11. Hi, I'm just hitting end game now (yeah I'm slow!) ilvl 172, just unlocked Alexander 4 normal. I'm wondering if it's worth it to farm more law tomes and centurio seals to upgrade my ilvl170 Yasha gear to ilvl180 Asuran gear. I'm thinking by the time I get enough I may have got enough gordian pieces to get ilvl190 stuff and enough eso to start collecting my ilvl 200 gear. Or maybe the 190 and 200 grind is slower than I think? Anyone with experience, please let me know your thoughts.:moogle:

    Hi there

I'm Ton I've been lurking for a bit, and I'm hoping to join Balmung as soon as the world transfer service is back up and running. --MMORPG background: GW2 well into end-game content and a little dabbling in WoW. It was fun but after being spoiled by FFXIV I didn't enjoy the mechanics. --RP experience: None, although my brother and sister are avid RPers and great cosplayers. We spent our time growing up discussing fantasy, and I'm a bit of a lore nut. --Character ideas/info: I have a few elements I still have to piece together. Tonton (in game name) is a name given him by his adopted family. Low-born Miqo'te with aspirations to travel and find purpose in Eorzia, and his familial origins. Influences on his life include the spiritual teachings of archery, a love of battered fish and tea, and a peculiar fondness for Limsa Lominsa (and Y'shtola, although he would never tell). --How did you learn about the coalition? It was linked in the lore forum on FFXIV. --What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I'm not familiar with the differences to be honest. If I had to guess, medium I suppose? Or medium-heavy? .....or light? --Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc) I graduated with a degree in hist. and bio. and I have been working internal support and IT for just under 2 years now. I enjoy coffee, yoga, lifting, spending too much time on the computer, and harbour a fledgling love of anime, manga, and green apples.
