Anyways, Au Ra does sound a bit too stupid. But Hyur as a word for a race was rather a mystery to me because that name also sounded silly. Regardless, I am sure the next expansion will explain about the race's background of who they really are. Just hoping that they arent some nearly extinct races for people to RP as.

Well technically, the trailers in slightly dark gray backgrounds and screen is extremely vague for anyone to determine whether they have scales to their skin or not. But aren't these from Othard though? So maybe they'll give brief lore of Othard that they are not related to Dravanians etc. We can keep discussing this if you wish. id rather not Good. There is a difference between "not liking it" with a simple opinion and "really really not liking it" by going over the details to take it to another level when it doesn't need to. So what if the character looks cute? I am sure at least 80% players want to play cute characters, 15% don't really care either way, and 5% are those who REALLY want ugly characters because they seem "realistic" enough. The truth? We only have like 2 major servers for RP, and 1-2 minor servers that is growing with RP. And the rest of the servers and players don't RP and they look at cuteness over how creatures should look realistic. That's the sad truth. Some people will just come up and say "I play ugly characters and I am damn fine" but most of the others don't. They want to be materialistic, and beautiful in a game - and that's just the harsh truth. Don't like Au Ra? Then sure. Feel free to rant about it. But don't expect other people to just be accepting your opinions, because in community and in life, people will always agree or disagree.

You know what's funny? Some people are already complaining from 20-30 second trailer where they only showed one part of the designed models.

Step 1: Install automated Water Sprayer System onto the door. Step 2: Install sensor to the exit. So that it can sense that the cat is approaching the door. Step 3: Set it up so that the waters will spray automatically at the cat every time it approaches to the door so it will go back to the living room while being scared by the terrible water spray.

Despite that it doesnt have detailed character model set up, it's still pretty damn good graphics. Amazing sexy graphics since 2010. Stay warm, FFXIV. We can talk about Boobs and Soul and Black Desert Online. Then we will talk about good/detailed character models. (see that underlined and italicized?) From Clover's response in terms of: "Lesser people play, more unique it'll be" EXACTLY. Like Femroes and some Lalas. - Which is why I love them so much.

I know I said I wasn't going to post in this thread anymore, but I just wanted to come in and point out how for as much as you want to try to make it seem like everyone on the internet hates the Au Ra based on your own cursory scan of posts and comments online (which you probably only went about looking for the negative ones anyways because they share your views), your own poll proves otherwise as the top two choices are "I like them" and "they're perfect." You'd be surprised that rate is completely wrong since 2ch and JPN players are excited about Au Ra race. Niconico video comments were explosively excited about the new race. Again, it's Japanese players favors over Westerners. Since westerners are always grumpy a lot.

Does everyone remember when 1.0, people complained that nothing new was being added, but now we are complaining about how new stuffs are being added because of how they look? I surely wanted a pony for Christmas, but Santa gave me a box of candy canes. At least the thought counts and I am damn satisfied. Candies for life.

I wasn't really directing it specifically to you or to anyone in here, and if it seemed like that - I am sorry. But it is true that developers usually brush off lot of customers/players who have small ratio of complaints because it seems like it's not a big deal to them. *I don't really like cat people as much but there are majority who like them. We Asian people actually like stereotypical white sexy girl with modeled body, or just cute looking girls. *looks at Miqo'tes* In all honesty, I play female characters a lot and I do prefer aesthetically beautiful girls fighting in brutal battlefield. So that's just me. I am okay with Au Ra female being dainty. But I would not judge on a race over 30 seconds clip of just showing the pre-designed character without showing any hairstyle/tail/color/face options.

Even if Au Ra were not being released and Viera was good to be true, we'll have another complaints about how dainty they are. oh and also male Viera might not even have those pax on their abdomen.

Skyrim, one of the most Western-Looking things out there (and arguably kind-of ugly looking in general when unmodded) was apparently the first western game ever to get a perfect score from Famitsu. And that's a big deal. That's debatable. Skyrim from Famitsu had a high rating because of the PC version and most fans in Japan already bypassed the coding to alter their character models (Lightning from FF13 ie.) - and most of the Japanese players do love their games that they can alter the models in games. (Technically FFXI .DAT model modifications were also founded by Japanese too anyways) My understanding is that the reviewers reviewed the base game, which would make all of that irrelevant. My understanding is that while there are majority people who appreciate what's given to us, there is always those who are unappreciative with what's given to us and are annoyed by it. But in the end it's always about 80% appreciative people and 20% complaining people and the developers disregard 20% people because most of them will always be nitpicky about it. Just like my point that I said about 2ch people.

All aside from the tail and horn, I personally like both races in their structure. It still followed the JRPG/Japanese player appeal comparing to Western style RPG structure. (In fact, many Japanese players still are not huge fans of Western RPG games due to the way they look. 2ch was trash talking about DragonAge: Inquisition about how ugly characters looked). This game was to appeal JRPG fans and mostly Japanese players and Western players who appreciate Japanese anime type of looks... but with actual promised legit proportions. (Unlike PSO2/Boobs and Soul).

Oh sure, I do want to know about girl's backgrounds and all of course. But one has to look at personalities, physical attractive looks, and backgrounds to like that character!
