Yeah, I use "ScrLk" or "ScrollLock" as well, but keep in mind I just can punch the "PrntScrn" and that works for me without any other combo-keypresses, so that may/may not work for Kyatai. :ahriman::tonberry:

I am a bit half-and-half on minions on recognizing them as IC and OOC. I think I would lightly acknowledge them ICly more than anything. They probably don't fit my concept of my character much (having a butler/maid) but I can see where other concepts can make them work. As for pets...I generally agree with the thread like FreelanceWizard points out. I sorta ignore them because they can get to be "too much" at times. OOCly, they are fun and I'd collect them, but ICly for my main...maybe...probably not. Maybe for an alt and even then, just a standard one, not the "Phantasm-induced-Meteor-Wind-up-Apocalypse" toy. :ahriman::dazed::evil:

I think this is the right approach, but I also think some caution is needed. Some of the cheaper items seem to really make a mark when you buy them in bundles/stacks. I can see some of the pricing of these NPC vendor items seem more geared in relative relation to "starting out" and being low level. If you start a character out, 200 - 400 gil is a substantial investment (IMHO) since you don't have much gil in your pocket; I myself put off dying equipment for a bit, wanting one of the 216 gil ones, although even at 60 gil, it adds up as you try to dye yourself. I do sorta see the OOC balance of all this on the economy. Armor should be expensive : It always is. It seems to balance with the rate one initially gains money in the game doing quests. Also, consider the normal gil drops when you just kill animals in starting zones, which tend to be 1-2 gil on average *IF* the animal drops coin. Also consider the material components, such as Animal skins, that one can sell and how much they go for. This may add to how much a "poor NPC" has on hand to establish a level of income (plus all the gathering classes that we can assume some NPCs have). As for adventurers, it really does seem like you are elevated above the norm. To me, this seems more akin to "Western Gun-fighters who collect bounties": You make good money as long as you keep taking those hard jobs which others do not take. Just in Limsa Lominsa alone, it seems they talk about you and your adventuring and show you consideration in numerous ways (a pair of shiny shoes to wear to the ball that you get for free, for an example). So, I would definitely put adventurers above the norm for NPCs, financially, even though we start out dirt poor (but that's true about every RPG game). :ahriman::geek:

Yeah, but I am a bit concerned: They keep taking funds at a regular rate, right? I mean, you got to "pay them wages"? I know I had one in 1.0 but I am fuzzy. I think the first one was "free" right? Upon NPC-quest-help questioning, I didn't get that impression. I sorta tend to be thrifty, especially since I am not rolling in Gil like "Scrooge McLallafel". :ahriman::dazed:

Okay, storage space is alright so far...but I can see it bulging sooner rather than later. The armoire in my rooms doesn't want to hold anything besides my Onion Helmet :cry: So, is there any other storage options in this game? A "Bank" or what have you? Access to bigger bags? :ahriman::frustrated:

Yeap, all spread out. Limsa Lominsa has some and Gridania has the rest, so you need to travel around if you want all the crafting professions. :ahriman:8-)

It's all different perspective. I feel the Roegaydns have a different variety from humans, at least their striking skin color. So, to me, they are the "least human" of races, but I also try to play unique/unusual races in games that are not too human, too. Heck, if there was an option to play a four-legged cow or a dog, I'd be all over that! I'd be throwing money at Yoshida in an embarrassing manner! :blush: Or even something really alien. :moogle::moogle:

Have you considered getting a Dazzle or something similar? There are devices that record screenshots and videos. You can even buy an older version of Dazzle and that should work out and be cheaper (or a similar device to Dazzle). Alternatively, you can hook up your PC to your PS3 if you have a PC with video inputs (or a video card with video inputs). Of course, your PC may be in another room, so.... These are just suggestions. From googling, I see DCUO added the ability to capture screenshots in that game on the PS3 (not sure about Free Realms). So, it looks possible, especially if people ask for the feature. Also to mention, it still seems like you need a keyboard hooked up to take those screenshots on the PS3; "F9" seems to do it rather than "PrntScrn". :ahriman::idea:

They (general media, other companies, etc.) keep saying the starting price for next gen will be $60 brand new (in the US). We've already seen this with many games already. Still, the average is about $50 and some new games have come in lower than that. So, it's not just EA saying this, but I can see EA being a (very active) supporter of the practice. Even so, with home video game history, I can see an initial spike when the consoles release but by a year or so, the average will drop. People will just buy more of the cheaper-priced games. This will especially be evident when more "casual" players enter the market and buy their console sometime after launch. Also, this just gives the competition an edge over companies that want to stick with such a strategy. Remember when EA was "bullying" Nintendo and the Wii because it thought its lineup was weak? ( http://www.trustedreviews.com/news/ea-says-no-wii-u-games-is-a-business-decisionhttp:// ). It also wants to move totally into online and jettison any Single-Player games. These type of things may hurt EA in the future IMHO and we may see a reversal at some point, the question is "when". In the end, there are other gaming companies out there who want your dollar and are more flexible in their product strategies.

I admit, while I do love alt-ing and probably will make an alt or two, I will probably wind up dabbling in all classes with my main, although he's gonna be primarily Marauder-focused. I am thinking of something different with my alt/s, of course, haven't decided yet. Really, some of the labor/crafting classes are just cool. I have to figure it out... :ahriman::moogle:

If it's not happening in /p or whatever, it's fair game for getting involved in, IMO. This is true, but I also feel a bit trepadatious (sp?). like Desmond does. I can and do overcome it, but can't help I am interfering with something at times. When I start to get to know folks and be introduced, it should be better, but until then...well, my manners can be a wee bit too polite for my own good in such cases. :ahriman:

See, this is why Uther is cool in my book and I understand Uther, even though I've grown a bit more philosophical about Comics and media and just accepting. Well, again, I understand about human nature and all that, but what is the harm starting a "Superman" thread or a general basic thread of comic debate. Come on! We can get multiple topics on this forum about that stuff and hey, maybe they'll even make a sub-section just for comics? Wouldn't that be great? Well, look at my post for an example. Bea asked about Superman and several people chimed in. I also responded. She asked, I gave her my perspective. Now, I didn't convince her, but she seems to grasp there is "something" there, it ain't just for her. That's cool, we move on. Personally, I am more about short things. Heck, maybe I want to ask about why people like Squirrel Girl and have to wade through pages of a Superman debate to find out the replies. I am not against debate, I do it too, I just sorta like to attempt to try and keep things in place. I guess an example would be my take on RP OOC/IC talk: I prefer to hear IC, but if it is late and people start talking about the new episode for Defiance or whatnot, I let them! People do that. Maybe I let Superman lead me too much. If there is a "debate", let's go to the debate room and others can follow. I mean, I know you and I and even Shcuk can go for pages about it, but it's gonna overcrowd, IMO, the original thread. Excuse me. That was nowhere near my original post. Again, you are not reading, so why debate you? My original post was, "Okay, you want to have a debate? Please let's just move this topic to a new one." Maybe this concept is hard to grasp, because mouse-clicking is such a hard task. And again, I said in this very quote, I was ready to debate you, but you just decided to get all angry and self-righteous. Fine. But again, you just come into a thread whose only purpose is to promote people posting favorites and turn it into a debate on a particular hero people choose? You DID NOT reply to his post, you replied to mine (you simply snipped the rest and quoted his one sentence reply). So your inability to see that makes me wonder why you continue to feign innocence. I am big enough to realize, in your zeal, you probably were mistaken, but you do not seem to be capable of that in this instance. And look, I didn't mind to reply later on: I was thinking of making a separate thread for it, but you've raised such a big stink over this, I don't feel like it is worth the hassle.
