  1. Told you in Skype already. But I really enjoyed your character's background. In my limited knowledge it doesn't break lore and has a well thought out story for his naming. I look forward to seeing your 100 Questions when you get done!
  2. It was a fun night. A lot of talented singers/musicians in the mix. I can't wait for the recording of Bohemian Rhapsody to be put up, it was glorious.
  3. I'm new to the game and I intend to roll on Balmung. I don't see why everyone is so turned off by legacy. It doesn't bring the image that you presented to my mind. But to each his own I suppose. Sure, but you're also HERE, you know? So you've been reading and you see what's going on, and you KNOW everyone is over on Balmung. I just feel like new players are gonna be turned off by the Legacy tag, I dunno. People are dumb, man. I think you'd be surprised. New players will filter to all servers, some more than others. It's not a huge deal. I find it unlikely that Legacy servers as a whole won't get enough new blood because of an arbitrary designation.

  5. I've always been a fan of Iron Man. It caught my attention while I was going through a engineering/technology stage and has stayed with me since. Plus, who doesn't want to be a rich, philanthropic playboy? Haha
  6. Damn! That sword and bow look absolutely sick.
  7. I believe a player can have: 5 Linkshells 1 Free Company Correct me if I'm wrong, just stating what I've heard.
  8. "Likely be partially restricted" and "Killed off completely" are two different beasts. "At least partially restricted." Least means the smallest thing to happen. So realistically it's not a different beast because he left room for change. I apologize if I come off as abrasive. But this whole subject is getting tiring from a spectator and participant side.
  9. I understand the reasoning behind closing off registration, but at the same time I think it was somewhat of a foul move, since I don't recall there being any warning that registration would be suspended. Doing that basically makes this an in house RPC only vote which doesn't take into account anyone else in the "RP community" that this actually supposed to be creating. I'm pretty sure anyone could have told you that Gilgamesh was the RPC favorite going into this, but outside of RPC, on the Beta forums where the rest of the community lies, Gilgamesh wasn't nearly as popular. Not being able to register has effectively cut off all but two members of my Free Company from voting. That's 20 something votes. If there was warning of some sort issued, than I retract this statement as it would simply have been my inattentiveness at work and my inability to tell my FC members to register early to ensure their vote. If there wasn't any warning, though, then I have to cry foul. If the intended community was purposely supposed to represent the RPC and not any of the members that work outside of it, then have at it. If your intent was to reach ALL RPers though, and not just members of the club, then I think you went about this wrong. Please refer to - http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=2227 Especially note Regarding A Non-Legacy RP Server. Everyone had ample warning of registration restrictions.
  10. Thanks for hosting the event! Got to meet a lot of people and slowly get back into the swing of RP'ing. While I wasn't much help with the riddles in Xenedra's group, the adventure was very fun. Got to see a few places I haven't been to yet. Have to say I had the most fun when all the groups got together at the dock and later the bar in Vesper Bay. P.S. - Dotoro was a savior. Xenedra forced us to sing and dance, we had no choice! Hahaha =P
  11. I'll do everything I can! Either I'll hit you up with a PM tomorrow or the next day, or you can drop me one and we can get things situated and started. I'm ready when you are~ Dropped you a PM. Get back to me whenever you have free time.
  12. I'll be attending! Not sure if it'll be canon for him, but I'll definitely lurk and try to absorb as much as I can.
  13. This sounds like a fantastic idea. I agree with Lizzo on it being helpful to new players and offering unique RP opportunities. I know you'll probably have me as a customer once I get situated in game.
  14. I'd be really interested in getting a mentor. I just recently stopped lurking and started to get involved with the community. Definitely looking forward to delving deeply into the lore. Ultimately though, I feel like I'm going to need a lot of help and guidance since I'm kind of a beginner. After perusing the blurbs each mentor gave, I came to hard decision (I'd kinda like to learn from everyone. Haha). If you aren't super busy Endemerrin, I'd like for you to be my mentor.
  15. Thanks for the welcome folks! @Xenedra - After playing around in the character creator, for what seems like days, I found myself drawn to Hyur Midlanders. So that'll probably be my choice, I have a general outline of what I want Jayce to look like. Just working on the last tweaks.
  16. Hi All! Lurked for a bit so I thought I'd introduce myself and get situated before Phase 4/Early Access. I'm really excited about Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn. So here we go! [] MMORPG Background [] World of Warcraft - Started at launch and played through the first few months of Mists of Pandaria. I mostly invested my time doing PvE progression in Vanilla, BC, and Wrath. In BC & Wrath I dabbled in Arenas with some buddies and eventually in Cata and Mists I solely turned to PvP because I had burned out. Aion - Started playing at launch and logged a few months before my interest dwindled. Eve Online - This game is such an addictive time sink! The intricacy and diversity really drew me in. I still play sparringly when I get the itch. Unfortunately, most of the people I played with stopped and I value community pretty highly in games that are vying to hold my attention. Star Wars: The Old Republic - The story and way that quests were dealt with drew me in at launch. I enjoyed the cutscenes and choices on how to leave a situation, it allowed me to really develop a character. Unfortunately, lack of end game content updates and the F2P shenanigans really turned me off from the game. [] RP Experience [] While I've always been interested in building characters and developing a bond with them, I have little experience in RP. In World of Warcraft I started out on a RP server in Vanilla and played there for a few months. I RP'd a bit but then real-life friends took my attention and I rerolled on their server and never looked back. *Sigh* With that being said, I truly look forward to learning the lore and meeting the RP community in FF14. Barring any crazy changes I plan to roll on Balmung with you all. I like to think of catching up on the Legacy server as a challenge mode that I'll conquer mercilessly. =D [] Character Ideas/Info [] I have a lot of ideas swirling around in my head, but I want to familiarize myself with the lore a bit more so that I don't mangle my character. But when I do flesh out "Jayce Lightfall" (Decent/Bad Name?) I'd definitely be interested in hearing feedback. Would I post a character Bio/Story to RP Discussion? [] How Did You Learn About The Coalition? [] I tend to surf a lot of sites, especially Reddit. A couple weeks ago I recieved my Beta Invite so I looked for the subreddit. Coincidentally one of the posts that I took notice of was asking about Role-Playing and there was a link to this site. Since then I've been lurking a bit to get the feel of the community and I finally decided to introduce myself. [] What Kind Of A Role-Player Are You Aiming To Be? Light, Medium, Or Heavy? [] Ultimately I'm aiming to be a Heavy Role-Player, but I'm flexible and willing to meet/interact with everyone regardless of style. I have a lot to learn, so I'm hopeful that the community around here will give me a chance and teach me a bit. [] Anything From Real Life You're Comfortable With Sharing? [] Not particularly sure what to share. I like reading, cooking, and long walks on the beach? =P Kidding. I can share that while I'm not as highly creative as my sibling, I find myself writing a lot; poems, short stories, novels, etc. Unfortunately, I'm my own biggest critic and find that most of it doesn't read that well. But practice makes things reasonably more... coherent I suppose.
