  1. I'm a little curious about Merits myself. Do you stop earning Merits after 75 now? Or will you have an option?

    Beta

Yes, even in their letter it's confusing. The person I know who was invited in had to email SE support just to confirm what was going on.

    Beta

Okay, according to someone who was picked for the Alpha test, it does NOT start today. They're not able to start until March 11th. They're just starting to notify people today. As for Beta testing, there's no date set for it yet.

    Beta

I suppose I'd best take down my post then.

    Beta

I have been using them interchangeably, since the dates are so close together. But yes. Alpha is now. First Beta Wave is the 11th is my understanding.

    Beta

I'm taking this to mean you got in, Zjin? Congrats! I know one other member of ours was invited as well. I've set up a post on our own forums for information of the game that Alpha testers can provide.
  7. 2am EST is the projected time of announcement. And yes, I'm thinking of actually setting my alarm for then. I'll post anything when and if I hear it.
  8. Oh trust me. I'm sitting on my hands over here holding my breath.
  9. I remember you two. >.> Sorry about the drama with the age limit. I've never heard from Gisei since.
  10. If I could pay my mortgage, sir, I would most definitely help. As it is, if you would like my web design skills for the website instead, they're yours.
  11. As for the new LostBoys, we are still in negotiations over name and storyline. I am waiting to put together a new website for the group until we know what direction we will be going in. That said, I wanted to reiterate that I don't expect anyone to be forced into a certain group or hold allegiance to simply one. If we do indeed settle on a specific role-play server, I look forward to characters being able to follow their own storyline within the world and join groups if it is congruent with the direction they want for their character. I do have some concerns over how this United Nations of role-play is going to handle disputes between groups should the worst come to pass. I certainly hope this would never be the case, but we all know that it is a looming possibility.
  12. Unless my sister goes into labor this weekend, I should finally have some free moments to start a headcount of Leviathan and send out some emails for the Lost Boys. There are still quite a few I haven't seen poke their heads in here.
  13. Hopefully, we'll hear more about Open Beta once XIII comes out and it will be less of a dead link!
  14. It's nice to see that people are already interested.

    Going Public

I suggest Monday - for no other reason than people will be distracted that weekend in particular.
  16. Actually, taking that idea one step further, to have someone innovate a particular establishment, then create a linkshell (or whatever they end up using) simply as visitors to that particular establishment. You put the linkpearl on when you walk in the room and then interact on the shell as long as you are there. They could run their business just like any other, hosting karaoke, bards, minstrels, or simply allow people to chatter about, like we used to do in the old days, in the Red Dragon Inn on AOL Chat.
  17. As it stands, The Lost Boys (new name pending), are poised to enter the game as a secret society similar to the Skull and Bones or Freemasons. Their name will be known, but their purpose, and their secrets, and some of their activities, will be held close to the group's heart. It will possibly be very ritualistic, and while we intend to participate in some cross-guild events, this group will be more closeted than perhaps some of the others.
  18. Cas, I know several others have offered their expertise on the site. Just tossing out there my Photoshop, HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Flash knowledge if you need help making the site look pretty. (Associates Degree in Web Design.) Otherwise, I'll be busy working on the site for the Stormguard.
  19. Generally, I (and my guild) accept these terms. I still do not believe that the RPC should intervene between guilds*, but as it is worded, I am not bound into this decision. I can live with it. In terms of representatives, I will be one, and my liaison to other guilds*, when chosen, will be the second. As far as going public, my guild* (previously The Lost Boys,) is still in the process of choosing a new name. In the meantime, we can be referred to as The Lost Boys, with the knowledge that the name will change once this process is complete. I'm correct in thinking that there will be a listing of guilds* somewhere on the forums, with links to their own sites and information about them?
  20. In support of this idea, maybe Castiel should create a section of the RPC forums whereby each guild's leader(s) can post their rules, policies, guidelines, views, whatever. Then when an event is posted, or even if an event randomly comes together*, there is a central hub where those rules may be reviewed or referenced. This would certainly help avoid any confusion, ease tensions, and be conducive to better cross-guild relations. * During the random ones there may need to be some agreement on whose rules should be followed. I would think that even random events would normally be the result of an individual or small group of RPers that could make this distinction early in case any issues arose. Just covering all the bases. /endfootnote I support both of these ideas. Well said.
  21. Seriously. This thread is just chasing tails at the moment. Let's take a step back for a bit and let some others have a say.
