I'd settle for no gender restriction on clothing at all. I want that bunny suit, dammit!

 

Square already confirmed the ears would lose their gender-lock in an interview. Not sure about the rest of the outfit, but I think it also.

Apparently female characters will be able to wear the male version as well.

 

This pleases me.

 

This...sort of bugs me. There's a lot of female exclusive gear in-game but barely any male exclusive gear by comparison. It'd be pretty nice to get some suits or something that are only available to male characters to balance things out a bit.

 

Instead of asking for more restrictions, try advocating for freedom of choice when it comes to costumes.  SE needs to grow out of their box.

Obvious solution. Everyone gets to wear everything! If a guy wants to wear a wedding dress, that's his prerogative!
