It's in the right ballpark. The website told me 5, so that's pretty close. It's essentially just a very large update to begin with. All the core functionality is already there.

and given that it states on the site:

20 gigs is about how much space the game is going to take, total, I think. 4.3 for the expansion, and my install folder weighs in at 14.5 pre-update.

Remember that download amount =/= install amount, as the download amount is compressed so you don't have to spend a shit ton of time and money that's not needed. Around 5gb sounds right for an expansion since most steam games that are 15-20gb in size installing are between 5-8gb in download size.

You'll also need to go into the Mog Station and enter in the actual Heavensward key to activate your copy (giant rectangle button at the top). From there, it gave me a secondary download from the expansion when I re-opened the launcher.

 

That was just a patch for 3.0. Second one's about 4-5 more gigs.

I didn't get a second email/code after the one initially entered into the Mog site, but just opening the client a second time gave me the option to install the expansion.
