It's sad, really.

 

I'm a little concerned for the direction of the company, too - he was the one behind the big push into mobile gaming. All those steadily improving versions of the 3ds? Dunno how much longer we'll keep seeing those.

this really broke my heart when i found out.....i basically grew up on nintendo and even though death is inevitable....it always hits you right in the feels when it happens. saw this video last night and it nearly made me cry, it's simple but really struck a chord so i'm sharing it here

Played through Earthbound again in his honor after I heard the news. He was a rare sort of CEO, the sort Nintendo probably will never have again. He will be terribly missed.
