Kellach Woods Posted August 23, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2015 Lend me your mouths. I have no idea what I'm doing with specializations, and quite frankly they look completely useless unless you're completely CP starved (and even then it's welcome another bit of RNG since it depends on Good stacks). So... yeah. Anyone screwed around with it? What did you find? Link to comment
Oli! Posted August 23, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2015 For people like me that have no idea what this means, can we have a primer or a link for some info? Link to comment
V'aleera Posted August 23, 2015 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2015 The general consensus among high level crafters is that right now they are completely useless. This may change when SE implements specialist only crafting recipes. Link to comment
OverlordOutpost Posted August 23, 2015 Share #4 Posted August 23, 2015 Yeah, I've found that using any of the specialist skill is both expensive because of Blue Scrips use, and harmful in terms of getting any Quality or Progression. The only reasonable way to HQ the high-level crafting materials is by being an omnicrafter still. Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted August 23, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted August 23, 2015 glad to know my lack of confidence in SE being able to do anything good involving crafting will be rewarded. Was gonna omnicraft it anyway. Link to comment
Ilwe'ran Posted August 23, 2015 Share #6 Posted August 23, 2015 I still find that the best way to craft is to use a tweaked version of the Lucis rotation. Specialist skills for now only manages to make me have less stacks than what I usually have with my usual rotation (aka : I usually have 11 stacks which is the maximum). (Here is a "reminder" of what is the lucis rotation if you need it : http://nightmazing.tumblr.com/post/126163595367/ffxiv-little-crafting-help-iii ) Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted August 23, 2015 Author Share #7 Posted August 23, 2015 Well, I just got Muscle Memory today, so just gonna splice that onto everything (except GSM 'cause I have Maker's Mark) and voilà. If we have the space to splice both Maker's and Flawless, which is best? Link to comment
Ilwe'ran Posted August 23, 2015 Share #8 Posted August 23, 2015 I only take Muscle memory because it's only one skill. Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted August 24, 2015 Author Share #9 Posted August 24, 2015 Also you might want to update the guide to mention that Tricks can be used on Excellents as well. Just so peeps who follow it know what to do with one. Link to comment
