Arrival at the Bismarck [Open]

"Damn, too many people..."

He reached out once more calling forth flames. He began to cast fireballs, trying to clear a path between the bar and the exit. Hoping to catch a thugs jacket or pants aflame here and there to distract them if not cause them to flee outright.

Croix cursed as he dove to the side to avoid the flying balls of flame. "Why is it always magic?" he muttered under his breath. Rolling into a crouching position, he turned as he heard his name called from the back room. hiding halfway behind the door was Elle, waving a small shortbow and quiver at him. Smaller than what he was used to, but better than nothing. He nodded and the waitress tossed the weapon to him in response. Snatching it from the air, he quickly surveyed the room and tried to pick out the best spot. He felt far more in his element now. Up high, bow in hand, surveying the battle...this was where he belonged.

Deciding the hawk-woman had the right idea, he vaulted onto the bar alongside her and took up a firing position. "Sorry for my earlier rudeness, ladies. I hope you won't object to my joining you this time around?" he nodded to the fellow archer next to him. "I'll watch your back if you watch mine. First things...that idiot hits the wrong bottle, the whole place is going to go up." Taking aim at the Midlander tossing the flames about, he let loose an arrow with the intent to strike his arm.

Things had became too thick, and Revan's real work had yet to really begin. The tall highlander moved slowly as he walked past patrons, dodging brawlers as they tackled each other about, among arrows and fireballs. A bird of all things comes clawing at Revan's throat, and scratches him deeply, Revan clenches his fist and knocks the bird away from him, atleast enough to shoo it off, before his eyes land upon a bow-woman standing upon the bar, aiming her arrow directly at him. Illucien's atherial gem glows white, as do Revan's eyes and in an instance, Revan uses all his power of conjury to protect him from the unprepared shot. A white barrier forms around Revan and the arrow that would have likely hit him precisely in the neck, bounced off the barrier and stuck into the ceiling. The barrier quickly faded, and Revan began breathing heavily. Conjury never had taken as much of a toll on him before, but the use of white magic was hardly used by him. Revan caught his breath, feeling slightly fatigued for conjuring the barrier and rested his eyes upon the ranger who stood atop the bar. Revan concentrated once more, his eyes glowing as white as Illucien's jewel, all the candles within the tavern beginning to flicker, their flames rose from the wicks and gathered at Illucien's blade, the black steel nodachi looking completely alit by fire.

He rose his hand aiming it towards the ranger who stood upon the bar and the focused Aetherial energy began to gravitate right into his palm into a great flare of fire. He drew his hand back, ready to cast the energy towards her, but instead, he decided to use it for another purpose. Revan swung his hand back to the great group of brawlers, the ball of fire exploding upon the tables and wooden floor behind him, spreading greatly into a fire wall. If those who remained behind did not act quickly, the inferno would spread and bring the whole building down in a matter of minutes. Revan's energy was nearly sapped from him, and he knew he had to get to Celgad. His eyes moved towards the door, and he quickly shuffled to the exit, Siben (or his character rather) lying in his path.

Revan lowered his sword to his side and brushed past the mage, following after the two rogaedyn who had made off with Celgad. The rain was pouring harder than ever and Revan thought he had lost them until he had seen the three resting at the side of the road. As he looked further down the road, many torches could be seen approaching the tavern. In minutes this place would be overcame by whatever authority governed this land, it being apparent that one of the feeling patrons warned the said militia. Revan hurried across the street to the three.

Shamad saw the hyur man set the whole place on fire. He immediately stopped fighting and ran as fast as his little legs could take him and that pretty fast if he didn't say so himself. He stepped on someone ((siben)) as he ran out the door. He was pretty sure the militia would connect him to this and some other...activities......of his tonight. He needed out of the city. He ran the entire way to the border and disappeared on the beach.

She Nodded not taking her eyes of her target. "So long as you refrain from digging for information I have no qualm" she drew the bow string closing an eye as she was about to let go she saw the man knock her hawk away and let the arrow cut through the heated air.To her disappointment the the arrow bounced back as it near him. and ricocheted and struck into the ceiling.

"Damn!" she cursed abruptly. "Shielded." she whistled sharply.

The hawk finding balance back in the air abruptly cocked it head at the whistle and immediately flew back to his companion landing on her shoulder stabling the bow.

"Are you alright old friend?"

She smiled as he hawk looked at her and screeched a bit indicating that he was perfectly alright but any further attemps to check him would have to wait as she caught the flames in their wicks flickering and the Highlanders blade gather the flames. her eyes narrowed at she watched him gather the flame in a flare of hot energy and dropped her bow arm. She had to think quick as he aimed it directly at her.

"Get down both of you!" She yelled at them. running further down the bar she shielded her face for preparation of the hit covering her hawk with her cloak and jumping down behind bar hoping to draw the energy only toward her.

((I think I got a bit confused by the layout... but uh, I was thinking the bar was more towards the middle of the room, since the meeting happened in the back of the tavern... like the bar would be against the wall between the back of the room and the entry. Revan meant to redirect his attack to the huge brawl of people from behind him, not so much the people at the bar... though he totally thought about it, lol ;) This was my interpretation))

She never felt the heat envelope her but she did hear loud screams and shouts erupt in the establishment. She pulled the cloak off her and her hawk and came to her feet to see a wall of flame eating away a the wood and the hiss of alcohol feeding it from tipped over and abandoned cups. She looked down at her companion who fluffed his feather and screeched a bit. "He's gone...." She said to her companion.

not spotting him anywhere in the building she walked further along the bar edge finding Ryelle.

(I understood i think what you meant gaelic i first left it off like that so someone could jump in that might want too before acknowledging him not tossing it at the people at the bar. But I see now that was little confusing leaving it off, so i just posted again to clear it up a little . sorry for the confusion. :) ))

A local guard and one of Galatia's Roegadyn had been locked in pitched combat, their blades locked against one another. Maestro noticed this, taking his elongated knife and walking up behind the guard. Quickly catching the man by the jaw and forcing it upwards, he put the knife to the man's neck, killing him with a slice and letting the body fall to the floor. The stunned Roegadyn breathed heavily, bowing his head in gratefulness, and for his effort received Maestro's knife across the gut, blood spilling as the heavy man fell face forward to the ground.

At his back, the Leader had withdrawn a short staff. "They want to use magic, then magic it shall be," he cried, adding fire to fire, the flames bursting forward and licking the walls. It burst forward in a chaotic mess, and Maestro couldn't help but smile as his compatriot added to the situation. As he walked through the chaotic horde, he saw a slightly steaming body, untouched by fire but seemingly electrocuted. He smiled, dropping to a knee and putting his knife to the dead man's ear, slicing it off in a single cut. "Goobbue might want a bite of this," he said with a grin, getting back to his feet and walking through the ever increasing fire towards the door.

In all of this, the giant man named Goobbue had become a bloody mess, taking the brunt of the attacks from the Roegadyn guard and yet enforcing his will, using all seven hundred pounds of himself to decimate his attackers, including some of the city guards. Now, though, he stood facing an old foe, the black masked man, whose face was bare.

"Long time no see Goobbue," joked the warrior, Great Axe in hand.

"Kain!" the malformed giant bellowed, his gaping jaw roaring as he charged forward, bringing his maces down. Kain rolled aside quickly, taking the butt of his axe and striking the giant in the side, Goobbue soaking up the blow before turning, slamming the man with a backhanded strike. Kain was physically thrown aside, crashing into a set of tables as the giant began to lumber forward, when the voice of the Leader suddenly called out.

"GOOBBUE, we have to leave, NOW!" the thin fencer cried, still cutting his way through one last of the city patrol. More would be coming surely, and Galatia's forces had thinned considerably amid all the chaos. Now, they had to escape. Goobbue snarled at Kain one last time as he turned, his mammoth form making a giant silhouette against the flames as he vanished into them, following the Leader. The Leader glanced one final time, back through the fire, in the direction of Ryelle. A lost business opportunity to be sure.

Maestro, meanwhile, had caught sight of one of the many smoke bombs lining the floor. How they'd gone untouched til now, he had no idea, but with a grin he put his heavy boot down onto the one. A blinding explosion of black smoke issued forward, setting off a chain reaction of multiple smoke bombs that started to steam out of the restaurant, mixing with the growing inferno and creating a situation where visibility was almost impossible. He laughed, crossing the distance to the exit in the darkness, his two companions at his back as they rushed onto the street. The three of them burst out of the black smoke rushing out of the tavern, Goobbue bloodied, the Leader streaked with stains across his clothing. Maestro grinned as he looked across the way, spotting four men, one of them the armored warrior with the large sword. He howled, holding up the severed ear between his thumb and index finger. "Oh, I like you," he shouted, tossing the ear up towards his giant guardian. Goobbue eagerly took the flesh, downing it in his mammoth jaws, the Maestro stepping in the opposite direction of the approaching militia. "When we have more time, let's play." The humor vanished from his face as his features fell on the man called Celgad. "And you," he snarled, "Tell One-Eye hello for me." The minute the words left his mouth, the smile returned, his eyes lighting up as he led his companions off into the darkness.

Inside, with it apparent that the flames were becoming deadly, Kain took his mask and pulled it over his face. It would filter these fumes at least a bit. "Everyone, out of the building! Take any survivors you can!" He looked aside, finding one of the local guards and hauling him onto his feet, the man leaning against Kain's shoulder. "Let's go!"

Aveline stomped through the rain up the many, many winding steps of Limsa-Lominsa, the hood of her sensible grey traveling cloak pulled tightly over her hair and ears.

"Stupid seaside town with its stupid cold weather and stupid rain.." she muttered darkly. Rain and chilly weather were not her favorite things in life. However, her curses ceased and her ire at the weather was all but forgotten as she rounded a corner and stared across a small bridge at the site of a gourmet restaurant in a state of pandemonium. She could see the occasional flame licking through a broken window or an empty doorway. "What the..." A man hurrying away from the restaurant passed by and she grabbed a hold of his sleeve. "Excuse me, sir, I'm looking for the Bismarck..."

"It's that building there, but may the Twelve watch over you if you have business there! Some rogues mistook the Bismarck for the Drowning Wench, I believe, it's pure chaos! The Admiral will hear about this!" It was all she could get out of him before he freed his sleeve from her grasp and ran off to safety.

The miqo'te clutched at the small traveling satchel slung over her shoulder and considered what to do. Her brow furrowed as she took in the panicked voices rising from the restaurant and the smell of cindering wood. "Admiral. What a neat name." She took in a deep breath and continued on towards the mess of a fine restaurant.

Beads of sweat mixed with rain and sut dripped down Revan's dirtied face as he glanced back at the burning building behind him. He looked forward to Celgad. "...remain where you are." The other Rogaedyn looked at Revan as he turned and went back to the entrance of the burning tavern, "Who are you?! And what are you going to do?!" One cried out.

"...repaying a debt." Revan walked into the smoke, his eyes unable to see, he lifted his cloak towards his face, and tried to filter the air he breathed through the cloth. He looked through scattered patrons running for the entrance, the brunt of the brawl for the most part, seemed over due to the chaos. "Kain!!!" Revan called out looking through the inferno.

Kain had gotten at least two men out of the building but now was feeling the intense heat and congested air affecting him. He'd moved to the rearmost of the restaurant and, unable to see anybody alive, had begun to work his way back to the front. He staggered, a sharp pain shooting through his side. The blow Goobbue had given him had broken his ribs, making it hard to breathe before one even considered the smoke sifting into his lungs. He coughed, forcing one step before the other, his thick robes now a detriment as they began to catch fire. Somewhere in the distance he heard his name and, pushing his body, he looked deep inside of himself, to training and discipline he'd received in another lifetime. One foot, then the other... one foot, then the other... He couldn't see where he was going, but directed himself towards the voice.

Siben saw the crossbow bolt coming at him,

Shit...he's too close and you're too weak to block it or dodge it right now, you know?

He grit his teeth and hurled himself to one side, crashing into the floor as the bolt shattered his protective ward, tearing through the linen shirt he had on and taking a good gash out of his bicep.

He tried to scramble to his feet as men rushed by him and, in the case of one Lalafell, over him.

By the time the massive firewall erupted Siben had crawled out of the tavern and sat against the exterior, healing his new wound and the various other wounds that had decided now was a good time to reopen.

He looked up into the rain as it poured down upon him and just shook his head, smirking, "Hell of a first night in town..."

He felt the vibrations reverberating through the building as the multitude of smoke bombs went off, felt the growing heat of the flames inside the Tavern.

"That's not good..." rising to his feet he fished a wand out of his pack and looked to the sky once more.

"Thank the Gods for rain tonight."

He held the wand up and began accumulating Aether, molding it into a globe of water at the tip of the wand. Falling rain drops became caught in it's pull, orbiting the water ball like small planetoids.

He watched the people rushing in and out of the building, pulling survivors out.

Unwilling to stand in the doorway and not brazen or dumb enough to rush into the obfuscating smoke that billowed out of the building he did the only thing he could think of, he concentrated on shaping his water spell into a constant blast of water, (like a fire hose!) aimed directly through the front window of the establishment. Falling rain and water accumulated in nearby puddles began gravitating towards his wand, adding to the stream as he directed it through the window. Unable to see exactly where the fire but aware of it's general direction.

((I just can't quit this!))

Shamad came racing back. He had enough blood on his conscience without adding the burning deaths of a bunch of people. He saw a man outside channeling water into the tavern. He joined him with his own stream of water. The smoke and heat diminished noticeably.

Ryelle replaced the small blades in her boots and drew out a small collection of handkerchiefs, dunked them in a pitcher of water before covering her mouth with one and shoved the others into the hands of the pair of archers. She caught the cuff of one of her companions' shirts, unable to tell them apart in the smoke, and made her way out from behind the bar, assuming the second archer would follow and cover their retreat. The smoke was still thick but the heat had lessened, so she made for the main entrance nearly beside . Half-way across she blindly bumped into a slowly shuffling, enormous man with a greataxe. She uttered a small curse, jammed her last handkerchief into the man's hand. She looped an arm though one of his and began to pull him along, her other hand still latched onto the leading companion's sleeve.

Ryelle bit back a scream of fury when they reached the entrance only to be face to face with the highlander who'd set the building on fire. She stood there, glaring furiously and finally followed the tug on her arm to exit the fiery building, freeing her arm from the man's as she did so. Finding an empty enough space across the street, she stood coughing and watching the blaze, finally letting go of the archer she'd followed.

Shamad was astonished. "Yes. She did. I think she may be crazier than squirrel poo. Put the water on me and I'll redirect it on the fire inside." He walked inside.

Revan finally came upon Kain as he was being directed out, and he moved to his other side, taking his other arm and carrying him forth. He didn't even glance to the woman, not noticing her glare. As they exited the fiery building Revan looked at Kain and offered him a nod of acknowledgement. "...the world we live in, is a small one." He whispered darkly, casting a glance over his shoulder at Celgad. The troops of the militia were now nearby and came carrying buckets of water, a few of them, and even more were holding halberds and spears. Revan moved across the street to Celgad, the Rogaedyn lifting Celgad to his feet and landing their eyes upon Revan.

"Celgad says your a friend of One-Eye's... we can take you to him if you so wish it." The bigger of the two rogaedyn said to Revanoth as he approached.

Revan's eyes grimaced darkly upon the Rogaedyn's face. 'Friend?' The thought maddened him, that he thought of killing the rogaedyn there where he stood, but such brash behavior would not lead Revan to what he had came here for in the first place. His eyes rested upon Celgad darkly, "One-eye... So thats what he calls himself these days..." Revan gestured to the alleyway. "Lead on... and do so quickly. I doubt those Militia men have come here for merry celebration."

((Since my phone seems to be morally offended by switching users I'll have to do this with this login. Forgive the wee bit of god mod Siben.))

Shamad felt the water hit his back. He redirected it to his ball of water on his staff and doused the fire inside quickly. Just for good measure, he also doused the crazy lady. He watched as the militia dropped their buckets and started questioning witnesses.

Aveline picked her way through the carnage and--were those bodies? They looked like bodies--thanking the stars for her foresight to wear heavy boots, approached the angry looking woman standing off to the side and holding a rag up to her face.

"Er, excuse me, ma'am, I was wondering if you could tell me what happened here and if you might know where the owners of the restaurant are about? I'm here to pick up a supplies order." A handsome member of the militia looked her way, and she gave him a brilliant smile and a wink. "I guess there's one upside to the mother of all food-fights, eh?" she said to the nicely dressed and slightly singed angry woman.

Shamad started when someone tapped on his shoulder. He spun around and stared up at the militia man. "What do you know about the events tonight?" asked the man. Shamad swallowed. "I don't know who started the fight but I do know someone named Revan started the fire. I don't know why though." The militia man nodded and walked off to interrogate someone else. Shamad slowly strolled away. He hoped he might actually get information on the Crimson Blades tonight. He decided to go to the Drowning Wench.
