Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #126 Posted July 13, 2010 The Miqo'te smiled at the Lalafell's response, "Thank you, but I'm sure the author is just late in finishing it again, there's likely nothing we can do besides lighting a fire under his ass... now that I think about it, I did notice the fireball you were playing with earlier? No no no no! Terrible idea! Forget I mentioned it! Please, return to the conversation you were having, I just need to rest for a moment." Link to comment
Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #127 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad giggled. He couldn't help it. "Are you sure? I like fire. I like lightning more but I guess putting a lightning bolt under him makes no sense and would probably kill him. You might as well be part of the conversation too. What do you think about a sword that grants wishes?" Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #128 Posted July 13, 2010 "A sword that grants wishes huh?" she pondered, "I suppose if such a thing were to exist, I'd wish for the sense of adventure that my sister has. I'd like nothing more than get a chance to write about the world as I see it..." she day dreams for a moment before snapping out of it, "What about you, what would you wish for... um... you know, I haven't caught your name yet." Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #129 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad pondered. To lie or not. No one knew him as Shamad. Then again there were those 5 he had to kill. He would lie. Better safe than sorry. "I'm Tai. I think I would wish for more knowledge." Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #130 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad pondered. To lie or not. No one knew him as Shamad. Then again there were those 5 he had to kill. He would lie. Better safe than sorry. "I'm Tai. I think I would wish for more knowledge." "More knowledge huh?" she questioned, "Are you some sort of scholar or maybe a prophet? Oh, before I forget, you can call me Katt. It's nice to meet you Tai. It's nice to have friendly conversation after a long and exhausting day," she mentioned before slouching back into the booth. Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #131 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad shrugged. "A prophet? No. As for a scholar....I come from a family of them but I never wanted to be one. Recent events have kinda forced me to. Research is boring so if I could just have the knowledge without having to search for it, that would be great!" Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #132 Posted July 13, 2010 ((We're the only one's on the website now... lol. I think after your response I'm going to wait til morning so the rest of the Blades get a chance to chime in.)) Edit: ((Also, damn it, I didn't like how my character came off there, just going to leave it til morning when I can think clearly again.)) Link to comment
Siben Posted July 13, 2010 Share #133 Posted July 13, 2010 Siben just shook his head and turned back to the other two people at his table. Link to comment
Nanapariri Posted July 13, 2010 Share #134 Posted July 13, 2010 (Wow you guys were up early, for my time anyways lol) Finally reaching the counter Nana was irritated as a Mo'quito rushed past asking questions and gave a reproving glare to her bodyguard. Before anything could be done she went back to a table so the Lafalell spoke. "Since your establishment seems to be having..." she paused trying to think of a word that would sound nicer than the one she was actually thinking, "trouble tonight I wonder if you still have my room." The woman behind the counter stared at her for a moment before opening the register. "What's your name?" "Nanapariri from Ul'dah and I'm on imporant business," she said. "It looks like the room you were scheduled to have was damaged by the fire so I'm having to ak you to room with another guest tonight." "What!" Nana said in a commanding voice. "I demand better than that I paid a special price for one of your largest rooms!" "We'll refund you the difference Ma'am..." Link to comment
Nanapariri Posted July 13, 2010 Share #135 Posted July 13, 2010 "I refuse to share my room with a stranger..." "There really is no other way Ma'am and we will reduce your rate to the normal price.." "I'm not paying FULL price for HALF a room especially when my retainer also has to crowd in with someone else... 3 in 1 room..." she sighed exasperated. "I suppose I'll have to find another place..." "Ma'am I'd appreciate not loosing your business over this unfortunate accident... how's about free food and drink for your entire stay?" Nana considered it, though she really didn't want to share a room with a stranger she would be saving gil on food. "Free food and drink for myself and my Retainer?" The owner sighed. "Alright sounds fair. Why don't you take a seat and enjoy some of that free food until I have things ready and settled." "Very well, thank you for your understanding..." Nana bowed with a smile and turned to look at the condition of the room and if there were any free tables. Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #136 Posted July 13, 2010 Katt overhears the Lalafell bickering with the owner, "Well, looks like I won't be getting that bubble bath tonight..." she sighs to herself. ((Added something, but throwing it after Shamad's response.)) Link to comment
Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #137 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad glanced over at the counter. He really disliked people like her. If she started up her bitching again, he might be forced to say something. He looked over at Katt. "Too bad about the bubble bath. You said your parents had a lot of books......Are there any on the history of Eorzea? History from around a thousand years ago?" Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #138 Posted July 13, 2010 "Well they collect books, they run a library and printing house so I'm sure they have several from that time period," she says motioning at Tai's friends, "Your friends seem to be quiet... if there's something you guys feel you can't talk about with me around, I suppose I could take my leave. I do still need to find my author friend, let alone a room to stay for the night." ((misread Sham's post, fix'd)) Link to comment
Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #139 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad glanced at the others. It didn't look like he was going to get anything from them. Katt looked to be his best source. "Actually I think I'll just follow you. If you don't mind that is. I just got here myself and I need to find a place too." Shamad blushed. Link to comment
Nanapariri Posted July 13, 2010 Share #140 Posted July 13, 2010 (lol. I think it will be impossible for Nana to walk into a room and not be noticed. She's very good at making a spectacle of herself. ) After surveying the dusty and sooty surroundings she decided the section near the full table was best. Walking over she examined the bench. "Alam, be a dear and wipe this thing down or we'll ruin our clothes... I'll find a waiter...." spying the woman she waived her over. "Kiddo, two mugs of your best ale and whatever your special is for today." Nana pulled out a gil purse and handed her 2 gil. "This is thanks in advance for your excellent service." Alam pulled a cloth from her sack and wiped the table and bench down as ordered as she observed the other guests. It was hard to know what the Mo'quito was thinking since she wore heavy face paint at the moment. Nana wasn't one to insert herself into large groups or observe her surroundings, Alam was paid to do that. Nana turned and smiled delightely at the clean bench. "Oh that's lovely dear...." Nana climbed into the seat and the Mo'quito took the seat opposite to her" you're the best Alam." "Thank you Mistress," Alam said. "You really ought to take some time to take in the sites here you know." "This city is far too busy-busy ...." she said with a flourish of her hand. "No I'm not one to look at buildings and things. No, I'm here for connections. I have to expand if I'm to show my relatives just who is successful in the family." Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #141 Posted July 13, 2010 "So long as you can pay your own way," Katt replied. "Publishing assistants don't exactly make a lot of money, and I plan on having my own room," she said as she started to pick herself up from the booth, "Do you happen to know of any good inns in this town?" she questions Tai, as she noticed the spectacle the Lalafell was making of herself; giving an awkward glance towards her and her servant. Link to comment
Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #142 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad thought. "We can go to the Drowning Wench. I know they have an inn and it's not charred to a crisp." Link to comment
Nanapariri Posted July 13, 2010 Share #143 Posted July 13, 2010 Though Nana was leaning at the table, her ears were finely tuned to listen for opportunities, and she zeroed in on the rude Mo'quito that rushed in. "Heyo Kiddo" she waved to the Mo'quito "did I here you say you might need some sponsorship, mmmm?" Nana smiled at the Mo'quito. Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #144 Posted July 13, 2010 Agreeing with Tai's sentiment but hearing the Lalafell call her over, she cautiously makes her way towards the Lalafell and her servant. "What exactly do you mean?" she responds cautiously, ears raised with interest. Link to comment
Koti Nexus Posted July 13, 2010 Share #145 Posted July 13, 2010 The Myth of the sword was stated and then suddenly.. Tons of people and conversations! The Duskwhite blinked a moment as if time had just suddenly jumped forward. He wasn't able to say a word, he was having trouble /even/ saying a word. Either this is because of sudden show up of people, the fact that he wasn't one to be rude and just shove his way into conversations, or the lady with the tail and her white hair was oddly distracting. Whatever the case was he crossed his arms, sat back and hrmed softly. "Well, swords of legends, weapons of unknown. Sounds like a fun form of excitement, adventure, and an all out love for power, if you ask me." He just sorta puts out, leaning back in his chair a bit more till... The chair decided to give away to gravity with him flailing and going down with it. The he raised his index finger up just above the table top to see, "I'm ok! Just let me know if their any myths on any gravity defying artifacts.." Then his hand flopped down. "ow.." (( Sorry for the crappy pose, all that could come to mind at the sudden post rush. )) Link to comment
Nanapariri Posted July 13, 2010 Share #146 Posted July 13, 2010 "I don't mean to be rude but I think I heard you mention something about publishing and needing some gil. I'm in the business of investing in talent when I see it..." Nana gestured to a spot at the bench. "How about discussing it a bit over some ale and dinner my treat. What do you say Kiddo?" The Lalafell smiled graciously. Link to comment
Shamadconde Posted July 13, 2010 Share #147 Posted July 13, 2010 Shamad watched Katt go over and talk to the arrogant Lalafell. He laughed as the Duskwight tipped back and then over. He had hoped to talk more with Katt but it didn't look like it was going to happen. He sat back and relaxed a bit. Link to comment
Tyme Posted July 13, 2010 Share #148 Posted July 13, 2010 Katt gave a questioning glance at the Lalafell, "Well, I have been wanting to write a book, but my parents own a publishing..." she hears a loud crack behind her, seeing a Duskwight fall out of his chair. "O-O-One second please!" she exclaimed as she ran over to the Duskwight's side, "A-Are you ok, sir?" ((Maybe Sham and I just don't sleep? lol...)) Link to comment
Nanapariri Posted July 14, 2010 Share #149 Posted July 14, 2010 Nana watched as the girl ran over to the Dustwight for the first time really noticing the occupants of the table. She smiled at the interaction wondering perhaps if the laughing Lalafel had too much to drink. None of them caught her eye as possible for business other than the Mo'quito. Link to comment
Shamadconde Posted July 14, 2010 Share #150 Posted July 14, 2010 ((I do stay up late but yesterday was insane!)) Shamad could tell the Lalafell dismissed him as a drunk. Well she could take her superiority and stick it. The rich died just as easily as the poor. Sure the consequences were greater but dead was dead. Link to comment
