I'll volunteer services as a guard. Montague Morne, former private third class of the Maelstrom and veteran of the Battle of Carteneau Fields. I've been trying to think of a way to get him back into the more adventurous side of life, and this seems like a nice opportunity. If you need any more information feel free to ask.

How important is it for one to talk during this event? Would it be alright if I were to come and more or less observe.

 

This seems like a great way to start getting into RPing. I would love to check it out, but I don't have a 'stay behind'(non time-skipping) character.

Thanks to Elza, we now have a good reason for Eva to be there! If there's a way it might make sense for her to assist with being an IC sort of mod, I'd be happy to try and help out that way too. Mostly now I'm just looking forward to the event!

As we're getting closer to crunch time, I wanted to emphasize a couple things. First, the August 10th placeholder date does look like it won't work. It's being guessed that beta will start back up on August 9th and last 7 days (this is mostly speculation still). Even if this is true, that only gives one day for preparing for the event. I'd rather people have time to level up and find decent outfits that they'd like to wear to the event. So the event will probably be pushed to a weekday (such as the 15th, a Thursday). This is still not 100% official though since we don't have access to the remaining timeline.

 

Also, here are some general instructions for the start of the event that will be reposted the day prior to the event. It will also be added to the OP and the calendar event when I post that with the official date:

 

My character for this entire event is Elza Ashfen. All questions should either be sent to her via tell or one of the other event mods (full list pending). I will be in tell hell. So please understand responses will be slower than normal.

 

Upon arrival, STAY at the gate. There's more than 1 gate into Fellsgourd Float. An event mod will be at each one (as well as other predetermined locations just in case people don't read these instructions). Do NOT head into the heart of the city until escorted. If your character is sneaking into the event and not paying the IC fee, that's fine. Just send myself or an event mod a tell that you're inside the city so we can ensure not to skip over you with the groupings.

 

Disband all parties. You will be grouped up semi-randomly (if you come with a date, you will still be grouped with him/her, so stay close to him/her at all times and make it clear ICly that you're together ). If I have to spend a lot of time asking people to disband parties so I can group people up, it's going to cause more downtime than needed.

 

Be prepared to receive a temporary linkpearl specifically for this event. If you are 8/8 on linkshells and cannot make room for this, send a tell to myself or event mod immediately (or post here immediately too) so we can keep you in the loop. Instructions will be given over the pearl (both IC and OOC).

Sadly I don't have an alt, though even if this were taking place during a time period time jumpers could come I'm not sure my character would attend either way. Hope you all have fun though!

Good news everyone! The date has been finalized once and for all. OP and flier have been updated. Event will be Saturday, August 31st at 7pm Eastern time.

 

This is during the launch week. Open beta is too short to hold the event during that phase as originally planned. And early access won't allow for everyone to attend. So this is the official date I settled on. This should also give everyone plenty of time to settle into the game, level up, and get the outfits they want. Event has been added to the calendar and will show up in the sidebar probably next week (events on the calendar only show up there 2 weeks in advance). Please see the updated OP.

 

If you still wish to help with the event in some manner or another (guard/event mod, live stream, performing, etc), please send me either a PM or contact me via skype ( username: zariksylvora ).

 

Please submit any music requests you may want to see for the gala now! Preferably instrumental versions only, as actual songs are meant for performers only.
