Looking to transfer to Balmung!

Hello everyone, meet Althena, daughter of Alex and Luna Lightdragon. She has come from her tiny island home of Lunaria to Gridania to join the adventurer's guild and become an adventurer like her parents. She lost them during the Calamity, but her memories and their stories that they shared with her are what driving her to go after the same calling. She's a conjurer like her mother but she is also a budding Arcanist as well. She has long auburn colored hair like her father and sky blue eyes like her mother's.

 

As the title says, I'm looking to transfer to Balmung but I wanted to post a tiny introduction to my RP character as to see if there are any FCs or players who might be interested in RPing or helping me come up with more backstory. I'm really a novice with the lore FFXIV (as many of you already know from the topics/questions I've posted.)

Hey there, and welcome aboard to your impending transfer to Balmung! :thumbsup:

 

Althena's concept sounds to me like a pretty good launching point for a new entry. I'm certainly willing to help out however much you'd like if you need a sounding board or are just looking for a connection (Kasi's profile is in my signature, which should hopefully give some ideas!). For the most part, you could simply jump into things with the mostly blank slate and allow her interactions with other characters steer her path ahead- this lends itself fairly well toward learning the lore dynamically as your character learns it too. It can make learning about the world much more interesting and interactive to boot!

Hi Althena and welcome to Balmung! That seems like a great start and as you start to RP your character more through different situations you will get a really good feel for your background. Its definitely worth a look at some different character's wikis or profiles just to get an idea for what you can include. I have found it a good source of inspiration for what to include and think about for my characters.

What kind of RP are you interested in?  The best place to start is with the Balmung RP Calendar and finding a few events that angle toward the kind of RP you're interested in.  Then you can start looking at other character profiles once you've found a few characters or personalities you'd like to meet.  While you're window shopping, be sure to check out the Free Company Hall or the Linkshell Hall to find Free Companies and public groups that may suit your character.

 

For lore questions, be sure to check out Sounsyy's Lore Compilations; she's done an amazing job with compiling a lot of the game lore into easy-to-find threads!

 

You're welcome to add me to your friends list; I'm a fairly busy person, both in-game and out, but I'm always happy to schedule/arrange a day to roleplay with folks!  You're also welcome to come out to my Free Company's open roleplay evening Nights on the Toll, which happens every Thursday that I'm not hosting the Gridania Story-Go-Round.

Hey all, thank you for all the replies. Looking forward to coming over soon. (waiting for next paycheck)

 

I had to do a name change because my main and the alt had the same beginning part of the last name (Light) so I changed it to Althena Dragonsong. (no reference to HW, I promise.)

 

I did a bit of playing with character creation and found 2 looks that I like and can't pick!

I've got a Hyur and Au Ra, both I really like and took from the idea that Althena got her father's hair color and her mother's eye color.
