Ended up on Goblin

So, at first Goblin was the only realm accepting new characters. Mateus has since opened up, but Goblin is giving an XP boost to people who make new characters. I know you can visit other worlds, which is pretty cool, but it would be nice to find some people that RP on my home world. Does anyone have an FC, or know if there is an RP hotspot on Goblin? Thanks in advance.

This reply wont be entirely useful, but I figure it might be a start!

 

I usually run into people when visiting Mateus or even Balmung playing Goblin or other worlds. This is basically because of your very same issue that I ran into. My suggestion (until more people speak up that are more familiar with Goblin's RP scene) try and RP on the more RP-centered worlds and find others from Goblin, then see if you can branch from there. ^^ Like I said, probably not 100% helpful, but wanted to try.

Thanks, I have a character on Balmung, and was able to make one on Mateus, but I haven'y played the game since it came out, and having that double XP buff is really nice.

My fc actually moved to Goblin due to friends being there, being connected to the larger rp shards and there is a bit of a rp scene on Goblin. 

I dunno how active the rp scene is but I'm told there is one. I've been personally too busy to seek connections out on the server just yet but if you ever need a place to call home or even a temp place to hang out and make some friends just let me know. My fc will be a casual prog and rp focus group once we get off the ground. Just the swapping servers and the expansion release has made it a little slower to get off the ground then I counted on.

I'm also sure there are cross linkshells for rp as well.. or I would assume there is as we plan to make one just to keep in touch with our connections across the shards.. also that way we don't have to force anyone to join Discord if they don't want to. ^^

Via Discord, there is a ton of cross-world RP these days. So don't worry about exactly where you home is: Worry about finding good friends that you can visit. That's likely to be the future landscape of RP in FFXIV; as these others have said here.
