New player looking to get into RP group

Hello all, I am fairly new to FFXIV, and wanting to get into a RP server and group. With that being said, here are some things about me.

MMORPG background: I started MMOs, back when I was 12, with Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) and loved all the dialogue options, cut scenes, ect. Got a bounty hunter up to mid 30s or so before life happened and 14 year old me couldn't play much. I played a bit of Terra as well, got to maybe 25 or so before Decided not keep with it. About a year or 2 ago, a couple of friends tried to get me into wow and I leveled a few characters up but never fully got into it. But for the most part, I've played most of my MMO's as a solo player, hardly doing dungeons in SWTOR or Terra because I was young and didn't know much about the games. and now that I'm older, (going on 21 by the end of the month.) I know how to look up guides and what have you to get a better idea of the game (which I have.)

RP experience: Been playing TTRPGs since 2013, mostly pathfinder with some 3.5; and, within the past few years, 5E. I also spent roughly a year playing Vampire: the Masquerade and Werewolf. As far as RPG video game experience, it by far is my favorite genre, along side Tactical Turn Based Strategy (games like fire emblem for those unfamiliar.)

 

Character ideas/info: So, rn, I have two ideas for a character.

First, (most likely) is Immanis Bellator, a Roegadyn (Sea Wolves) that focuses on martial prowess, smiting, and making an honest income with the metal wares he crafts, yet not afraid to get his hands in the thick of it if needed. Be it making axes or swing them. He does what he must to help his business, his friends, and the world that they live in. 

The second Idea is Grey Ezra, an Elezen. (Wild Wood) that is more magically inclined,  focusing on the magic and mysteries the world has to offer, an intellectual fellow that does what it takes to crack the case and has a confidence in those fields. This, dabbed with curiosity, found him partaking in a variety of magic jobs, along with some gaudy ones, like goldsmith and weaver.

How did you learn about the coalition? I convinced my friend to give FFXIV a try, and he leaned towards going for a more RP route, he showed me this site and him and I are both submitting a introduction today.

What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? I plan on being a light or medium RPer. I'm more so saying that still being new to MMORP, so we'll see where things take me.

RL things to know: I am busy the first weekend of each month with military obligations. And I do plan on going to college this fall, but again, we'll see where things take me. I enjoy playing MTG and writing. I would love to meet lots of new people and make many friends along the way! thank you for reading and all input/questions are valued and smiled upon!
